  1. In the era of sensitivity to concussions, the nature of the game, guys playing with injuries because the position is thin, and for the sake of logic, the NFL really ought to expand the game day roster.
  2. Windows 7 had become quite laggy on startup on my laptop that I got in 2010. I've kept it up to date and it's still nice enough to do everything I ask of it, so I figured why not. The 10 version wasn't stable for the first few days, but after an update it came to rights. I was fiddling around in settings and problem fixer and it detected an issue with my router / wifi receiver setting that was alternating the signal coming into the laptop that would always cut out live video after a couple of minutes. I watch Bills games on here and in addition to the on-field production the last 5 years, it had been really aggravating to see them line up at the LOS and then cut out. Should be better on both fronts this season! I also switched from Firefox to Google Chrome for a browser. I was reticent to switch at first because I've used FF for a long time, but Chrome is faster to start and has just as many or more extensions / add-ons. I kind of like the start menu tablet-like UI. Maybe it's just me....
  3. I rarely wear socks. My main issue, since youth, has always been the seam line across the toes and how it bunches. Even just THINKING about it now makes me cringe. #HighFunctioningAutism I wear crocs, leather mocs, or go barefoot a lot.
  4. He was the one moving them the best tonight, for sure. Hope he gets the start vs. the Brownies so there can be more comparison against starters, rather than the mixed bag he faced here. I'm not sure if he, like any scrambling QB, can hold up the entire season, but we can darn sure try.
  5. As I replied on The Facebook to a friend who posted this story: "Looks like someone's really excited about moving out of Connecticut and the prospect of being able to afford to buy clothes."
  6. What type of iPhone cord do you have? The big 30-pin one? They moved to the Lightning charger, which is a small straight plug-in. There's really nothing to damage in there. I upgraded to the iPhone 6 with Verizon last month after having a dinosaur flip-phone and an iPod Touch for awhile. Get the 64 GB because 16 GB fills up fast; they had to order mine from CA and it took two weeks to arrive. I'm used to it from the iPod, but yes, I'm really liking it. What I'm reading they might be doing with the 7 --- removing the menu button and going to a force-touch glass, among other stuff --- makes me sigh a little at the timing of stuff and obsolete-before-you-get-used-to-it, but... it was time.
  7. I forget exactly where I saw it, but at the height of his celebrity, I read from one of his former roommates that when Jared was still size... whatever... that he was SERIOUSLY into hardcore/extreme porn. Kinda sad & sick what some people get caught into in the downward spiral of needing more-and-more-taboo stuff to get their rocks off.
  8. What'm'I, chopped liver? As for myself, I do not imbibe. Maybe a sip when doing beer can chicken to remove some of the liquid to 2/3 as is recommended. But... I've really never cared for the taste of alcohol unless it was very masked (e.g. a capful of peppermint schnapps or cognac in a hot chocolate) and I also have an issue with a med such that I probably shouldn't be drinking. So... I don't. But more power to you guys! Within reason and as long as you're not ahole-drunks or driving.
  9. It finally showed up today. I'll try it.
  10. I'm not seeing the icon to sign up for it. I've got Windows 7, and yes, it is genuine.
  11. What can I say...?
  12. We had garbage to the left AND to right of Wood last season. Maybe let's not judge too harshly?
  13. IIRC, the admins shut this down several years ago after due consideration... i.e. that there are plenty of sites to find such stuff on and that they preferred to not create that kind of atmosphere here.
  14. Of course there's the specter of tampering with anything electronic these days. But do note that every so often there have been deaths when hydraulics have failed or winds affected and tipped over those scissor-lift elevators that some teams have used to get a better top-down camera angle for filming practices to use in the meeting rooms for breakdown. If they can do it safer.... Notre Dame Student Dies In Tower Collapse
  15. Melt it down or sell for scrap metal $.
  16. And we will pay this "major impact player" with....
  17. Praying for strength for you, Rick! I lost my mum to pancreatic/liver cancer in December. I'll put in a word to her for you.
  18. Where'bouts are you jboyst? I'm actually in N.C. right now visiting a friend in Fayetteville / FayetteNam.
  19. When I think of stadiums and government getting involved, part of me cringes at public money going to these endeavors. But another part, besides any argument of increased economic activity for an area... is the use of the stadium. A large complex like these can serve as a community asset in times of disaster e.g. The Superdome during Hurricane Katrina, they used the UCONN stadium during flooding, etc. The government can literally take over this asset at times of critical need. Rather than building a vast emergency complex / triage area that may never be needed, I don't find it too much to ask that the government ought to put something into the pot to create a space to run operations. I'm a fiscal ultra conservative and even I can allow for that. This is short-sighted, but alas... it fits right in with the 'Eat The Rich' attitude of the administration. Make private owners pay for it all, and then government uses it if/when it needs to with no remuneration.
  20. SMH. And people wonder why marriage- and birth-rates have gone down, down, down in the Western world. And why women end up dead in domestic violence because they threaten to literally take a guy for all he is worth and make his life not worth living. A "Humans of New York" picture on Facebook last week showed a guy who has a corrections officer job and after paying child support for one kid, he has $39 per week to live on. Thirty-nine dollars a week. In NYC. Family/divorce law is seriously £@($ed up. It needs to be blown up (figurative speech there, FBI/NSA/etc.) and start over from scratch. At its heart is the fundamentally untrue notion that women love their children more than fathers, that fathers provide while women keep house, or the ever-great 'He's got money and this person doesn't. C'mon, pay up!!!!' Eat-The-Rich attitude that comes from the judiciary in so-called civilized societies. She was out of the picture for 30 YEARS, had NOTHING to do with how he made his money, and now has her hand out?!!?? Piss off!!!!
  21. Geez. I'd need the whole yardstick here in NE CT...! This winter has been rough in many different respects. I think I may be looking to relocate South before too long. NC / east TN?
  22. That thing's gotta be a train wreck health-wise....
  23. Maybe with this current coaching staff, we can finally put some investment into this position rather than picking from the scraps and being shocked (SHOCKED!) when these guys don't pass muster when it counts. Lee Smith... the only time I ever heard his name was when a holding call on him that was totally unnecessary & away from the play brought back a big gainer. Chandler has been serviceable. But as an outlet / reliable big-man target for the QB, especially if it's EJ, it's critical to upgrade. It's Buffalo, and to complement this power / run Offense, we need a freakin' tank out there at TE. Someone CBs and Ss cannot cover well due to size and LBs can't cover well due to speed who frustrates a defense. It's been forever since we've had a TE worth more than a bucket of spit.
  24. Hmmm.... I didn't. What's up?
