  1. Every time? No. Though I'm sure all teams would love that during negotiations. In Diggs' case it's easier because he is already contractually obligated and under team control for the next 4 years.
  2. The idea of front-loading contracts is simple. You pay a player for his good years and as the contract goes on, the salary decreases. The concept is not meant to save anyone money and it does decrease short term payroll flexibility, but can benefit a team in the latter years of a deal. Is that how it works Harry? Maybe you can elaborate more for the rest of us simple Bills fans.
  3. Ok bandit, restructure. It was really early when I posted. ? Diggs is only 26 years old. If he does well an extension of a year or two that front loads and enables an easy out if he under performs in the future is not a bad idea.
  4. I personally would make him play his first season here under his current contract. Why in the world would you renegotiate a contract with 4 years still on it? Show me you're all in. Show me you're a team player and not the diva you're made out to be. Put up the numbers and after the season we talk extension.
  5. Disagree Doc. Fitz was the starter and though Rosen was there from the beginning, he didn't get the Lions share of 1st team run in the off season. That team was a dumpster fire from the start and were predicted by many as a 1-2 win team. After Fitz got annihilated by Baltimore in Game 1 they let Rosen start Game 2 where he went 7-18 before getting pulled for Fitz in a 44-0 ass kicking. He then started 2 tough games against Dallas and SD. Then when he finally gets a chance against another dumpster fire in the Redskins he gets benched for Fitz who barely won. Rosen never sees the field again. That's a fair shake?
  6. Both Allen and Rosen were on the board when the Bills were on the clock 3 years ago. Hopefully this closes the door on which Josh was the better prospect. Though I do feel Rosen has gotten shafted and lacked any opportunity to show what he can do, nothing to this point has shown me he is now or ever will be a better QB than JA.
  7. If we were gonna keep an interception machine we could've kept Peterman at a cheaper price.
  8. I like Hyde. 1k rusher that would be a good compliment to Motor. I'd draft one as well.
  9. I'd be more concerned in retaining Kevin Johnson over acquiring another receiver. Diggs Smoke Beasley Duke Foster Draft pick....we' re good for now.
  10. I really hope we make a decent effort to retain him. McBeane can't possibly go into the season thinking Norman is the answer at the #2 CB position. Of course we hope he comes in and recaptures his play of 5 years past but keeping Johnson and Wallace for depth, rotation and a safeguard against injury for that matter is extremely important.
  11. If he wants to sign with a contender that has enough talent around him to take advantage of a 1 year prove it deal he should. He has to realize teams on the brink of serious contention rarely have that kind of cap equity. The Bills are an exception right now.
  12. I like that! With the weapons we have, giving Josh more protection and time to survey the field is paramount for a successful season. Yes, Dawkins to RT would be the move as well. He's not an elite LT, serviceable but not elite or pro bowl material.
  13. I'd seriously be more inclined to look at Josh Gordon before ever entertaining AB.
  14. Butler strikes me as lazy. Great athlete but unmotivated. Underachieving at this point in his career no doubt.
  15. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001106801/article/broncos-acquire-dt-jurrell-casey-for-20-draft-pick Man! Just saw Denver trade for Jurrell Casey from Tennessee for a 7th. A 7th! Would have been a massive upgrade over Butler and Star for that matter. For a 7th and 2 million more over Butler would've been a no brainer. The guy is a true wrecking ball at DT.
  16. I give it a B+ if Diggs doesn't honor his current contract and wants a redo. An A if he does honor it. The compensation seems right. We were never getting Hopkins and I'm sure Beane inquired. O'Brien maybe clueless but he's not clinically insane, I think? Radio jocks are already playing the over/ under game as to by what game Diggs starts bitchin about Josh's accuracy and not getting the ball to him on time.
  17. To quote Cam Newton himself, " Is you dumb?" Don't want him anywhere near my QB.
  18. A lot of good players will be available at #54. Have no idea what Beane will go with,... but I trust him.. As it stands right now we need a RB. Motor and Yeldon are fumble machines. Howard would of been a good get but Miami is doing their best Jets impression and overpaying everyone. Hyde maybe?
  19. You know that old saying that goes, " for every beautiful woman you see there's a guy whose tired of, well...you know?" Yeah. That does not apply here! Well deserved Mr. Poyer. You truly live a blessed life. ?
  20. I fear you may be right but I just don't consider him a franchise LT. I can't help it, I know it's not my money but as a consumer I hate paying top $$ for average to slightly above average goods.
  21. Get Tre done before the season. He's obviously worth Byron Jones money. Id also try to lock up Dawkins to a significant but not overwhelming contract. He's worth retaining, but not at 15+ per season. Milano will have to wait as I see him as lower priority.
