  1. Did I just hear Mcdermott say Xavier Rhodes has a hamstring injury??? Already? WTF. Well, that was completely pointless, if true.
  2. The discussion about "who did we miss the most" and "who do we need back the most" is actually very interesting, because if you look at practically EVERY reason the Dolphins won (besides the Bills missing every opportunity of their own) it involves the BACKUPS. Center mis-handling exchanges leading to 10 points Backup DBs giving up bomb to Waddle on 3rd and 22 leading to 7 points Lack of a pass rush for the first time all season Unable to defend run at goal line It's pretty clear that "next man up" seems to work when you are missing one or two pieces, but when you're missing as many as we were, it's a recipe for disaster and Allen WILL have to put the team on his back every single time with very little margin for error.
  3. I would imagine there are teams with depth at corner that is likely more valuable than our options in the FA pool. It doesn't necessarily have to be a "superstar". But I'm also just saying, make it a top priority to explore the possibilities, even if there are ultimately no options to choose from.
  4. At what point do we make a serious push to trade draft capital for some secondary help? I'm not sure if our opportunity will ever be as good as it is this year, and rather than allow some injuries make us worse, we should be doing everything possible to make a trade that will not only replace Benford and/or Hyde, but upgrade our secondary on top of it. If it is at all possible, you do that instead of promoting someone off PS or signing players that didn't make anyone's roster and hoping you found a diamond in the rough. Part of what made this team the Super Bowl favorite is being one of the few teams in the NFL that has a top tier offense AND defense. With all these injuries as it stands right now, I'd argue that our defense is still good, but no longer top tier. The Rams don't win the super bowl last year without their mid-season trades / acquisitions.
  5. My 5-year-old son - who was born the same day we hired Sean Mcdermott (1/11/17) and the same year we ended the playoff drought - announced the Bills were going to lose in the 1st quarter, when they were up 7-0. He probably did this.
  6. Morse and the safeties about equal to me. Both took points off the board. I think if it were Poyer and Jaquan it would’ve played out different. Just not sure about Hamlin. that said, I won’t pretend I haven’t seen the Bills give up inexplicable third and long plays numerous times even with Hyde and Poyer both in there. Despite having a great defense, seems to be something that happens much more than it should
  7. the strange thing about it is - just the season before - we were WINNING those same close games. if I remember correctly (and maybe I’m not), it was our defense that let down in a lot of the close games last season, and Allen couldn’t do anything from the sidelines. but today, that was obviously not the case.
  8. definitely paints a target on their back, like NE last year. And like NE, we will probably WANT to see them in playoffs too. Just hope we can stay healthy. We should be able to stack W’s after the bye…. But I’m a tad bit concerned about how we will be looking going into the bye, both record-wise and injury-wise. Ravens, Steelers, chiefs… those are gonna be 3 more very physical games. Smh. I know this might sound good to anyone right now, because we all want to be 5-1 going into that bye, but I’d be plenty satisfied with 4-2 / 2-1 over the next 3……. Just with knowing what our schedule looks like coming out of the Bye unfortunately, Miami’s schedule is a lot more vanilla tho (imo) so we need the Bengals to take care of biz (I think at home?)
  9. not sure which board you were looking at but I checked in at “fin heaven” and the general consensus was they just won a game they had no business winning. Several fans pointed out the 40 min TOP, missed fg, dropped pick six by Milano. It definitely wasn’t lost on them that every single break in that game went their way. Reminded me a lot of the Jags loss last year actually.. Anyway in just 4 days they play the Bengals. Hopefully they’ll run out of miracles on TNF.
  10. it’s only week 2 though. That’s the scary part. Tre happened last year on Thanksgiving. I am actually confident in JJ filling in well as the “next man up” especially in this DB-friendly scheme where every DB we have plugged in has had some degree of success so far BUT… There’s only so many injuries you can take until your top defense stops being a top defense and the advantage is lost.
  11. Wonderful sign… 🤦🏻‍♂️
  12. still want some kind of update on this “2nd opinion”. Is it short term? Long term / IR?? Know he is “out” but was hoping to have some more clarity today
  13. Nice to hear day to day but I will assume Jordan Phillips is out next week at minimum. It’s officially a hamstring and I can’t remember the last time one of our guys had a hammy and ended up playing the very next week (correct me if I’m wrong). I think part of it is this Bills team has never rushed players back from hamstring injuries, which is smart.
  14. Honestly, if these guys being out increases the likelihood of their availability next week against Miami, then I'd rather them sit out anyway. We are going to need Oliver and Settle against the Dolphins because if our DL is not winning at the LOS, that means you're giving Miami the opportunity to play to their strength on offense, in getting the ball to Waddle and Hill.
  15. 12-team league. I intentionally neglected RBs early on, banking on snagging a random RB off free agency at some point early in the season that will become a regular starter for me, and instead loading up on my other positions, because that is how the league was won last year. So - following the advice to start Pollard over Singletary - this is what my starting roster looks like at the moment: QB: Allen WR1: Kupp WR2: Deebo RB1: Antonio Gibson RB2: Tony Pollard TE: Dawson Knox FLEX: Bob Woods K: Greg Joseph DEF: Indy D Player: Roquan Smith BENCH QB: Dak WR: Mecole Hardman, Lil Dirty RB: Devin Singletary, Breece Hall, Isiah Pacheco TE: Gerald Everett DEF: Dallas Mind you, my fantasy teams are NEVER this Bills heavy, but this is just where the chips fell in this particular draft.. haha BUT... As you can see, RB is CLEARLY my toughest decision here because all four of these guys are pretty much on the same tier. The interesting thing is they are all RB1 on their respective teams except for Tony Pollard, but Pollard is the guy everyone tells me to go with at RB2. I get it with Breece Hall... he is a bit of an unknown at this point, but man... Singletary is coming off 9 TDs in his last 6 games!!!! I keep going back to that, and that makes it hard to start Pollard over him.
  16. Not that you Bills fans are biased or anything... But who do you start wk 1?? General consensus so far has been Tony Pollard... especially with Zeke's decline and word that he will be a major receiving threat this season. What do you all think?
  17. Slightly concerning for a new player, but I'm confident that he will Settle in.
  18. Exactly what I am afraid of. This signing is incredibly important. Can’t have those 3 major needs going into the draft and if we do I believe Priorities become 1. CB 2. OG 3. WR
  19. Assuming protection up front is good enough, let’s not underestimate how Allen is the type of QB that elevates the game of his weapons. I truly believe if we went into a game with Diggs-Davis-McKenzie at WR we could drop 30+… on ANY team. CB on the other hand… if Tre white really isn’t available until week 6 like OP suggested… that HAS to be #1 priority as of now. id even argue OL gets priority over WR as of now if we lose Ryan Bates. if Bates creates a void on our OL then priorities should be 1. CB 2. OL 3. WR
  20. I remember listening to Van Miller introducing “Pooh Bear” Williams in a pre-season game on WGR when I was a freshman in high school. Despite his short stint with the Bills, that nickname stuck with me for years. In fact, it might be my favorite Bills nickname of all time. RIP Pooh Bear. Go get that honey.
  21. Right now, I just hate football.
  22. At least this is the first thing to come up that kinda takes my mind off 13 Seconds 🤷🏻‍♂️
  23. Yeah i thought I turned the corner today as well, but I had also not allowed myself to watch highlights or interviews from after the game yet. then this morning I decide to watch the Brandt segment from one bills live and they show the same highlights I was trying to avoid. I was sick to my stomach after the 4th Davis td was shown. Man… This isn’t gonna go away any time soon is it.
  24. I have yet to watch the highlights of that game, or interviews. But this morning I watched Kyle Brandt’s video from One Bills Live on the bills official site cause Brandt always makes me feel better about the Bills , but in the middle they start showing the last 3 Bills TDs in chronological order (first time I’ve seen them since the live game) and on the last one I see Davis staring down the Chiefs fans after his TD, clearly thinking he just scored the walk off TD like the rest of us…. and I felt sick to my stomach after that. All of that is to say…. yes, great game, and I’m sure a great video…. But I’m still not ready to go there. Not sure I ever will be.. lol
  25. I'll just say this... for the vast majority of BILLS fans to be convinced that we won the game when Allen hit Davis with 13 seconds left - despite being a fan base that has learned to EXPECT disappointment over the years - that in itself proves that it was a miracle by KC and should have never happened.
