  1. the “bills need to dominate lesser opponents” narrative is kinda funny to me when we lead the league in point differential last I checked. It happened once this year against Green Bay and people make it seem like a trend because it was the last game they saw and on National tv. Losing to Miami doesn’t count at all because with all the injuries and heat we were pretty evenly matched to start the game (even though we wouldn’t have been in normal circumstances). The other 2 close games we won were Ravens and KC, who will be in the playoffs, so.. yeah. It DID become an issue at times last year - incidentally, after the bye - but it’s not a “thing” this year… yet. These aholes need to stop before they speak it into existence
  2. Well I gotta admit I did too but when Dr. Chao made his assessment, I started to allow myself to be more optimistic for the first time since Poyer got hurt. I think Poyer’s description of the injury along with the immediate swelling is what freaked everyone out, but mostly Poyer mentioning a “pop” is what had everyone expecting the worst.
  3. At this point, if the Chiefs do NOT get Jags' Josh Allen, I'll be as happy as if we made a big trade. Ugh. Eff the Chiefs.
  4. I agree to an extent, but let's not forget, Allen's best friend (literally) was acquired with a draft pick. You can definitely improve your team using draft capital without giving up all of it. That usually only happens when you're making a trade for a QB. I mean look at Roquan Smith for a 2nd rounder, for instance. What % of 2nd rounders do you actually think are going to be better than Roquan?? 5% is being generous. I'd take advantage of the value associated with draft picks as much as possible. My concern is more that we may not have cap space to bring in someone that could really help us, so that's why I'm on board with getting some depth at safety on the cheap (i.e. give up 5th-6th round picks for someone).
  5. Feels like free agency all over again.... all these big signings around the league.... uh oh Raiders got Chandler Jones! What are Bills gonna do!? BANG! Von Miller. Yeah, he is definitely working on a huge trade for someone, but... it takes 2 sides to agree... all we can do is hope.
  6. Yeah don't get me wrong. I am not expecting Hyde to be back based on what I've learned today, but the mere fact that there's a chance is a lot better off than I understood the situation to be about 10 minutes ago.
  7. Thank you for enlightening me. So it was I that was missing something. No surprise there 😂. Plus, this is actually great news. I had pretty much considered him out for the regular season and playoffs as a certainty. The thought of having Poyer & Hyde available for the playoff run, well, that's something I'd take over home field advantage to be honest. Not saying I wouldn't like to have them both, but if I had to choose, I'll take our new pass rush with White-Poyer-Hyde-Elam/Benford in the secondary in the playoffs against any team, any where.
  8. What is Dr. Chao talking about re: Hyde possibly returning late in the season??? He's on season ending IR. Am I missing something?? Or is Dr. Chao missing something 😂 And regarding Poyer, when I hear his diagnosis, he obviously knows the history and he watched the play, but I wonder if he is aware of Poyer's comments about feeling a "pop" and the reports of noticeable swelling right after the game. I wanna believe he's right! And historically he has been right, so hopefully this is good news, but I'm just wondering if there is anything that he doesn't know.
  9. Hmm.. It showed up as an Alert on my phone from WGR 12 minutes ago: "The Bills have activated CB Tre'davious White to the roster" Did not say who we cut in order to make the move though, if accurate.
  10. Chris Brown, Joe B and others have just reported it as well. And some more breaking news.... Tre White officially activated to roster. Yay. We needed some good news. Although that doesn't necessarily "guarantee" he plays sunday.
  11. No link to it yet unfortunately; I was watching live at https://www.wivb.com/watch-news-4-now/ You can watch live press conferences via Buffalo Bills app as well I believe. I'd imagine buffalobills.com will post the videos later today.
  12. As expected, Mcdermott said "still evaluating" just now re: Poyer injury. To my surprise, he also mentioned "evaluating" an oblique injury to Matt Milano. Hadn't heard about that one yet...
  13. Believe Mcdermott is on in 15 mins... ...probably just to tell us "still waiting on results"
  14. Team has definitely come out of byes looking sloppy before. Last year after the bye, we started to lose every other game for several weeks. We played 1 good half against the Dolphins off the bye and won (sound familiar?) and then lost 9-6 to the Jags the following week. The year before, it was the cruel "Hail Murray" that preceded our Bye week. Came out of it with a sloppy 27-17 win over the Chargers (hey, that sounds familiar too) But unlike last season, we snapped out of it immediately, with dominating wins over SF on prime time, followed by a nice win over the Steelers, and then annihilated the Broncos. Pats and Dolphins in very similar fashion to how we started this season.
  15. I think Dolphins are easily 2nd best in div when Tua is healthy
  16. Same. Poyer was actually off to the best season start of his career. Guys like Beasley, his body was breaking down towards the end, but his performance had also declined. Not at all the case with Poyer…
  17. With our aspirations, there is little margin for error. Sure, we will make the playoffs, but do we want to be playing another playoff game at Arrowhead? Our home field advantage in the playoffs is one of the best in the NFL. I posted a stat in here last night. The last 3 Bills teams to start the season 6-1 or better went to the Super Bowl. Pretty sure those teams hosted all their playoff games too. EDIT: It was last three Bills 6-1 teams apparently, not two(!)
  18. hard hitter but terrible in coverage. Not sure he’s an upgrade. I lived near Oakland (until this year) so Raiders are kind of a secondary team for me and I can tell you Raiders fans love him as a hard hitter but hate his coverage skills. And I’m pretty sure coverage is where we want an upgrade in this case. He also has a problem with availability. Another thing we are already dealing with our safeties. Pass.
  19. "NFL Research: The Bills' 6-1 start is their best since 1993 when Buffalo began the season 7-1, finishing the regular season at 12-4 en route to a loss in Super Bowl XXVII. Buffalo has advanced to (and lost) the Super Bowl in each of its last three seasons starting 6-1."
  20. True but Not Crowder. He's 29 and won't be 30 till next season. Crowder is simply injury prone. Happened when he was young, still happens now. He's a good player, but his availability sucks.
  21. Tre White changes our defense by essentially taking the opponent's WR1 out of the picture. With White back, maybe Jaquan/Hamlin get more help over the top? And these big plays are less frequent. That said, if Poyer is indeed out, and White STILL gets held out next week... then yeah... I'd say we aren't just "being cautious" with him at that point. If Poyer is out, I'm surprised if White is too...
  22. Doesn't Tre White "have to" be activated from IR by next week to avoid full-season IR or something? I don't recall the rules there, but I know there was some talk on this board about it.... And this really stinks about Poyer... our secondary always looks much different when Hyde/Poyer are missing... so if he's out, let's hope its just 1-2 weeks.
  23. It's interesting to me how Davis is the best deep threat on the Bills, and one of the best in the NFL, despite not having the electrifying speed associated with some of the other deep threats. In fact, he is the second slowest receiver on the Bills roster alone! Only the 6'3" Isaiah Hodgins - who is rarely active on game day - is slower. Kumerow and Davis actually have the same 40-yard dash time. Diggs, McKenzie, Shakir, Jamison Crowder are all faster (granted, they are smaller too). I realize "game speed" is different, but in many cases it seems to be Davis' strength that has made him such a dangerous deep threat, in contrast with what we usually see in the NFL. Either way, it has become a real pleasure to watch.
  24. I am. He was my favorite non-Bills player, but that’s mostly because I drafted him on all 4 of my fantasy teams (only player I had on 4 teams) and I was heavily criticized for drafting him for some reason. He was part of a team in a 12-team league that was sitting pretty in first place. My first 4 picks were: kupp, deebo, josh Allen, Breece hall the plan was to draft my WRs & QB first and take a bunch of RBs in the mid-rounds, and hopefully one would pan out. Well, Hall was that one, and now that he’s gone, I’m gonna need someone else to step up (Singletary/Tony Pollard who will probably always be hit or miss 🤦🏻‍♂️)
