  1. I remember that game. It was a snow game much like last year's. I think Lynch had one beastly run in the snow and that was our offense for the entire game.
  2. I guess I'm going to be in the minority on this, but I would honestly expect Peterman to play well against the Colts. There is no denying his bone headed mistakes up to this point, but here are the defenses he has gone against: Looked terrible against.... Chargers Jaguars Ravens Texans If you could choose 4 defenses to start your QB's career against, this would probably be close to a worst case scenario. Then, there was that one start against Indy where he actually played well and didn't have a pick. Not coincidentally, that was not a very good defense, and it still is not a very good defense. Heck, this is why I'm really bummed out that Allen likely can't play because this was the ONE game that I was looking forward to for him. Indy represented an opportunity for Allen to move the ball around more ,build some confidence in himself and the players around him on offense which would help towards this critical second half of the season. It's pretty much the only opportunity like that on our schedule and Allen probably won't get it, so that sucks. Instead, he will probably come back against NE or Chicago which means more panicking and likely developing bad QB habits instead of progressing.
  3. I will say this... for all the talk about peterman and Allen’s failures, my lasting memory from this game is defense unable to jump on another forced fumble that would have sealed this game. ...but that’s mostly cause I only have faith in our defense to make game winning plays
  4. I'm talking about how we saw improvement with his footwork in the pre-season and early on in the regular season and then it regressed. That's on Allen to me.
  5. We also win if Bills run game delivers like last week and Ivory converts on 3rd and 2. Peterman may not even have had to take the field again!
  6. Sammy Watkins, Robert Woods,, Marquise Goodwin, probably Zay Jones too <--- All would have been good picks for us if we had a QB
  7. The most excruciating part of it for me.... we have actually done relatively well on our draft picks these past couple years.. arguably very well...................... as long as it isn't the QB position. And this has been going on for years.
  8. That one hurts, and it'll hurt forever, but Rosen bothers me a lot more... because we were taking a QB for sure and he was there for the taking and just a year before taking Allen we drafted Peterman because of his supposed "NFL readiness" yet I guess that factor was not in play when choosing our franchise QB. I'm still willing to defend allen at this point and give him the rest of this season, but my god, I'll never get over that pick with Rosen on the board.
  9. Same here, but from what I am hearing, he did start to play better in the second half. The throw that OP is referring to - 39 yard strike to KB - was in the second half and he apparently had another long connection with KB called back on a stupid mistake by Bills that had no impact on the play, also in the second half. Meanwhile, our OL is doing no favors with all the false start penalties and apparently we average 3rd and 9 yards to go on third downs, which Allen deserves part of the blame for, but not all. He has a ways to go, but the Bills are not doing him a lot of favors either, and neither has our schedule for that matter. I'm very interested to see what he looks like against an "average" defense next week. No excuses at that point.
  10. Jets definitely have a better OL. Kearse is better than anyone we have. Robby Anderson has come on strong for them and had nearly 1000 yards with Josh Mccown at QB last year. Enunwa is also a solid WR. They definitely have a better supporting cast on offense.
  11. I would not call it "good" but at the same time, I think he is playing smarter than before. He has a lot to work on. I think some of the regression people are seeing in certain areas is because he's trying to focus on fixing other things, but the only thing we can do is remain hopeful because we are all-in on this guy like it or not and hopefully by next year when we improve his supporting cast, we will see it all coming together. REALLY hoping that he can play against the Colts next week because it is completely reasonable to expect 200+ yards passing against that defense and he needs that type of game in order to build some momentum for himself and continue to grow.
  12. I was disgusted when we drafted Allen over Rosen and I’m not sure if he will ever be able to grow enough to be a solid nfl qb, but I will say this... there has definitely been some signs of growth since the Green Bay game. It has been coming little by little but it has been progress nonetheless. We have been up against a lot of relatively strong defenses too. This is why I really hope he is good to go against the Colts because everyone scores on the Colts so I expect to see his own performance improve when his competition is not as strong. If he were to take a step back against a Colts defense, that’s when I would be feeling sick to my stomach
  13. Excellent breakdown of the game. Thank you for that. And definitely agree that a huge part of Allen’s success this season will depend on Daboll’s game planning, recognition of Allen and our offense’s strengths and weaknesses along with our opponent’s defense. Did a great job with that a week ago but followed it up with a train wreck.
  14. Thanks for the responses... definitely not a good sign. I realize he’s still raw and has much to learn, but the thing you look for is improvement from week to week, learning from mistakes, etc. and yesterday’s performance was major regression. He will need a lot of support to have a chance in this league and we better get him that this off season. On the bright side, Mitch trubisky was severely flawed as a rookie and look at him now. Really hoping to see that type of improvement from Allen in year 2. That second year is pretty much what defines a young qb, but in the meantime, he better not be having performances like this several wks from now. Can you really fix inaccuracy though? Ugh... I’m trying REALLY hard to be optimistic about the kid but i have to stop it there before I start venting too much (I.e. we had Mahomes right there for the taking in 2017 but instead we pay a Kings ransom for Allen in 18). Somehow this franchise is cursed when it comes to drafting QBs, but I’m trying to stay positive doggone it!
  15. I was only able to follow the bills game on Game Center and nfl red zone. All I got to see on red zone was Allen’s horrid interception (and equally horrid effort by the oline) and I also got to see him get sacked a couple times. On the bright side, whenever they showed our defense they were stepping up and making plays. As far as Game Center, it was just “josh Allen throws incomplete to _____” over and over again. And since I can’t find an “all the throws” video yet, my question is..... what was the problem this time? More dropped passes? More inaccuracy? I noticed he had a couple deep ball attempts, was anything close?? Sooner or later he’s gotta hit one of these I mean hell even EJ Manuel did on occassion; you’re bound to have a lucky throw (then again the lucky throws I’ve seen involved drops by Robert foster) 14 incompletions in a half is not easy to pull off so it has me wondering WTF happened
  16. First time I've read through one of these camp reports. Man, that was painful. I really, really hope Josh Allen improves because for a guy that supposedly "rarely makes the same mistake twice" (think I read that about him recently) he really took a step back today, and heck, AJ & NP didn't look much better. I realllly hope this means we have an elite defense or something, but this is more likely the result of having a bottom 5 offense :(
  17. Jesus... when he got to buffalo the whole thing was at least he’s reliable unlike watkins. Since then Matthews has had 2 major injuries and Watkins has had none. I guess a lot of the time it just boils down to bad luck. Which is why I still hope our decision to move watkins wasn’t only based on lack of availability. Especially since he had clearly recovered from the foot thing. What’s done is done I guess, but still kinda funny that Matthews became watkins after all
  18. Music City Miracle by far... I was 14 years old watching with my friend and we were both in complete shock afterwards. We ended up going on a walk for at least an hour without a word said between each other.
  19. My dad was a cowboys fan and I became a bills fan during the four straight super bowl run of the early 90s. So even though I’ve never considered the possibility until I read this thread... hmmmm... maybe? In some f’d up form, he is? Bills v Giants was the first game I ever saw, so that’s how it all started, but could have been those last two brutal games against Dallas that solidified it for me and made me a lifer Damn dude, me too. I feel for you.
  20. Not sure if this was posted already but http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/23659740/rookie-quarterback-progress-reports-first-impressions-13-qbs-drafted-2018 i know nobody talks about this anymore, but most of us wanted Rosen, and many of us have warmed up to Allen with all the feel good character articles and what not, but so far you read these reports and both guys seem to be who we thought they were.. Aka the reason many of us wanted Rosen look Allen seems like a great guy, but I really hope he can become a great player too, because the way they’re talking about Rosen is much like what we are hearing about Edmunds, and I can’t help but think of Rosen + Edmunds ending up as one of the best drafts of all-time. just going to keep hoping for the best with Allen man... and hoping these “telegraphed” interceptions do not become a trend whenever he becomes our starter
  21. Tyrod had his issues with consistency, but constant injury issues at the wr position during his tenure didn’t help his cause. Let’s hope AJ and Josh have better luck. it seems like whenever tyrod started to develop chemistry with quality receivers like woods and Watkins or heck even harvin, they’d get hurt as soon as it was turning into something special thats why I’ll be watching tyrod in Cleveland. I think if Landry and Gordon remain available through the season, he will be a better qb than he was in buffalo
  22. I’ve noticed how bills and pats often play each other close during the first half, but then the pats completely separate themselves in the second half. Belichick seems to take advantage of halftime for adjustments as well as anyone and he is the best coach in the game. Ive always thought that when teams start strong and finish weak it’s a sign of bad coaching more than failed execution
  23. Well if he’s going to be the starter he’s going to have to win the job first. Sounds like bills are having an open competition like 2015. So he will have to prove it if he’s the best we got.
  24. Fwiw average wonderlic score by super bowl winning QBs is 30.5. Jim Kelly is an exception to what I’m about to say but I think when it comes to the wonderlic, lower scores are definitely a flag. I don’t think it’s coincidental that a lot of the QBs I see with low scores on the wonderlic are the same ones that have “slow eyes”, hold the ball too long, etc. but as far as Jim, he was a unique personality when he was younger and not necessarily in a good way, so I wouldn’t be surprised if young Jim didn’t bother taking the test seriously to begin with
  25. Man I really hope the Zay jones arrest has no impact on our willingness to trade up. I.e. if Beane starts thinking in terms of this potentially creating another void which makes the idea of hanging on to his picks increase its appeal. I don't think it would factor in, but it still worries me a bit. The timing of this really sucked. Hope Zay is alright, but I also really hope it does not cause a distraction at a time like this...
