I’ve always noticed , with the Bills , we always have to hit rock bottom before we turn it around. Unfortunately, I am not sure if this is rock bottom yet, but losing to the Jets would be. We always start the season hot, cool off, and then finish it off with a nice run after finally making adjustments. I have to admit, I fear we are going to lose to the Jets, and my only rationale is “that’s how this team always is” which might not seem like much, and yet, we see this happen every year.

Week 5 - Bills at Texans Game Week Thread
ShakAttack replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
I want to see KJ Hamler elevated and used in the game plan this week. If used properly, he can give this offense a dimension that nobody has seen yet and no defenses have prepared for or have answers to. Hamler is one of the rare athletes that is not only fast, but his acceleration is insane, and he can pretty much hit full speed right off the bat. If we are talking about McKenzie replacements, that's the guy, if anything. And on a side note, didn't McKenzie initially start on the Practice Squad for us when we first signed him? And then we eventually elevated him after the weekly jet sweeps became a nice wrinkle to the offense? -
Yes. He has been good this season. He has been our most consistent pass rusher, I am pretty sure (sacks in 3 of 4 games played). When I heard about this news, combined with Shakir possibly playing through a high ankle sprain, I am not liking our chances against the Texans, who are getting players back, in contrast. side note…. Has anyone else noticed how EVERY TIME the bills get significant piece(s) back into the lineup, we LOSE an important player around the same time?? We will likely have Taron and/or Bernard back, so we lose Miller.

Brandon McManus reinstated - Bass replacement?

Agree. Imagine that 48 yarder was the kick to decide the game. We can’t wait for that to happen, because it will, at some point. -
So far WR group looks like a dumpster fire

Has anyone pointed out that Diggs actually had more drops than Coleman this week alone? yes, he was targeted more, but one of them was on a must have third down for the Texans. it seemed like every time someone breathed on Diggs he would drop the ball. i watched most of the Texans game this week and Nico Collins is the reason they won. He is three times the receiver that Diggs is, and that’s the type of player I wish the Bills had. -
9/29/2024 Bills @ Ravens post game thread
ShakAttack replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
had a bet today on Samuel over/under for catches at 2.5. Took the over and Thought it would be a slam dunk. Sad part is, he actually did have 3 catches , but one was behind Los so it counted as a run. Smh -

I agree. You can definitely sign someone off the street more reliable than Bass. -

Allen didn’t get hurt and he still has 0 interceptions this season. and while there was a ton of blame to go around, none should go on the QB. thats the difference between this loss and some of the early losses last year. We will get it figured out. The ravens stomp teams every now and then. Didn’t they do this to the Niners last year? Look where the Niners ended up -
I don't see why he wouldn't come back if we made an offer? This isn't like resigning Matt Araiza.

Can we really judge Bass in Sunday's weather?
ShakAttack replied to DeepPass's topic in The Stadium Wall
Our opponents - who are not used to Buffalo weather - have come to Buffalo and made plenty of kicks in bad weather, more than our own kicker that has had more experience in these conditions. So yeah, we can judge him, especially if Prater is making his kicks… -
NFL 2024 Kickoff: Ravens @ Chiefs, Sept 5 - 8:20pm

This is what happens when you let your QB have too much input on WR prospects... -
Regarding Jones, was listening to Locked on Bills a couple days ago and he said don’t be surprised if Jones is cut then immediately resigned depending on how we handle Milano. I forgot how that whole thing works, but I know we see teams doing it every year at end of the pre season (cutting and immediate resigning of a vet after another vet is placed on IR)
-
pretty sure it was 2 in a row.... and then he played the bills. but for the record, the jets were technically still in the game prior to the Milano KO sack, and that's about as much as you can really ask for out of a backup QB imo

Yes. at first because I forgot to cancel my subscription from last year so I was auto renewed and they do NOT issue refunds. but then I realized since I live in Washington state and do not have digital cable it’s probably for the best anyway.

We sometimes joke how Chiefs never seem to have injuries. So we bring in 2 chiefs this off-season... and both are hurt. Awesome. -
I mean, it's a fair point. Assuming the Bills are in position for another post-season appearance, and McDermott/Babich find a way to adjust and have this defense playing at a high level like they seem to figure out more often than not, at that point Milano's return will feel like a "bonus" more than anything else.

I know I'm in the minority, but I still get extremely angry every single time I think about 2nd and 9 after the 2-minute warning, at home against the Chiefs, in excellent position for a walk-off TD.. more so than 13 seconds. don't get me wrong. They both sucked. But for some reason, last season's ending is still bugging me to this day.

Major or Minor, Pre-season or regular season, Bills injuries always seem to occur in bunches. Strangest thing... and frustrating too.

Is James Cook a Top-Five All Time Bills Running Back?
ShakAttack replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah they are pretty even imo. Both started their careers with the Bills, both had two 1000 yard seasons with the Bills (I think, might have to fact check), but McGahee was here for only 3 years, Henry 4 years. McCoy 4 years as well, and I believe he may have been more productive overall than either Henry / Mcgahee during his time, definitely in terms of YPC. That said, Anthony Lynn’s system was also VERY RB friendly (see Mike Gillislee and Karlos Williams) -

I could maybe argue Travis Henry and/or Lesean McCoy in place of McGahee. At least in my lifetime. And as far as best individual seasons go, watching CJ Spiller in 2012 was a treat.
