  1. How are there no better kickers available than this? I always assumed kicker is one of those positions where there should be an abundance of unsigned talent for the simple fact that teams only keep 1 place kicker, so that's 32 jobs available in the NFL for one specific position.... SURELY there are better options that fall right outside of the top 32 than someone who went 4 for 9 on kicks of 40+, right??? I mean that is pretty much Tyler Bass!! And this dude was kicking for LA! At least Bass has the wind excuse. Man.. finding a way to downgrade from Bass... that's not easy! I gotta hand it to Beane.
  2. It was ugly, but you had to come away feeling very satisfied with how much command Josh Allen had in this game up against the #1 passing defense in the NFL, despite the lack of talent we have at receiver. There were a lot of people that genuinely did not even believe the Bills offense could ever look good again until we brought in a new receiver because we had been "figured out". Apparently, we adjusted, and I enjoyed seeing that very much. Also, NO INJURIES!!!!!!!!!!! For me, some of the "least enjoyable wins" are the games in which key players are lost long term despite the win. For instance, I'd rather win the way we did, than win a blowout like the Lions this weekend..... but lose Hutchinson for the year. No thanks. I can't enjoy that. This, it was ugly, but I enjoyed it... because a lot of the biggest issues from the previous weeks were addressed (particularly on offense) and we came out healthy.
  3. If James Cook isn’t practicing again today, that all but confirms the dreaded turf toe injury imo.
  4. Ugh… in other words, we very likely would have won. Awesome.
  5. still don’t understand why we don’t elevate KJ Hamler. If Allen is so dead set on attempting these deep balls, doesn’t KJ give you a better chance than Hollins?
  6. Yeah and unlike the Thigh Doctor or Banged Up Bills who speculated turf toe injury, I'm not a doctor, nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, but I'd bet the odds of Cook's foot NOT being injured after the way it landed on the turf in that clip are about as strong as the possibility that Josh Allen was NOT concussed after he had his lights knocked out.
  7. So if you take Curtis Samuel's off-season turf toe injury, combined with the fact that those injuries tend to linger, combined with the fact that he has struggled to do anything meaningful all-season, and that he is now back on the injury report with "toe/foot", I am willing to bet he has been playing through this injury all along, as some have speculated.
  8. I like it, however, that would entail we have learned how to win close games at the end as well. Were not able to do it in the Jets game last season, and the end of today's close game was not a good look. Hopefully you are right because that is going to be essential at some point. Can't rely on only winning games when we blowout our opponent.
  9. Why do we always have to hit rock bottom before turning it around? EVERY season. And it is always after a great start to the season as well. And as bad as this one looked, I hate to say, this wasn't rock bottom folks. Losing to the Jets, however, that probably would be.
  10. I’ve always noticed , with the Bills , we always have to hit rock bottom before we turn it around. Unfortunately, I am not sure if this is rock bottom yet, but losing to the Jets would be. We always start the season hot, cool off, and then finish it off with a nice run after finally making adjustments. I have to admit, I fear we are going to lose to the Jets, and my only rationale is “that’s how this team always is” which might not seem like much, and yet, we see this happen every year.
  11. I want to see KJ Hamler elevated and used in the game plan this week. If used properly, he can give this offense a dimension that nobody has seen yet and no defenses have prepared for or have answers to. Hamler is one of the rare athletes that is not only fast, but his acceleration is insane, and he can pretty much hit full speed right off the bat. If we are talking about McKenzie replacements, that's the guy, if anything. And on a side note, didn't McKenzie initially start on the Practice Squad for us when we first signed him? And then we eventually elevated him after the weekly jet sweeps became a nice wrinkle to the offense?
  12. Yes. He has been good this season. He has been our most consistent pass rusher, I am pretty sure (sacks in 3 of 4 games played). When I heard about this news, combined with Shakir possibly playing through a high ankle sprain, I am not liking our chances against the Texans, who are getting players back, in contrast. side note…. Has anyone else noticed how EVERY TIME the bills get significant piece(s) back into the lineup, we LOSE an important player around the same time?? We will likely have Taron and/or Bernard back, so we lose Miller.
  13. The only drive I wasn’t watching last night was the Bills TD drive… and the ensuing 3-and-out with Spector’s sack of Lamar Jackson. Everything before that, and after that, was terrible. I think I win (it’s my fault).
  14. Agree. Imagine that 48 yarder was the kick to decide the game. We can’t wait for that to happen, because it will, at some point.
  15. Has anyone pointed out that Diggs actually had more drops than Coleman this week alone? yes, he was targeted more, but one of them was on a must have third down for the Texans. it seemed like every time someone breathed on Diggs he would drop the ball. i watched most of the Texans game this week and Nico Collins is the reason they won. He is three times the receiver that Diggs is, and that’s the type of player I wish the Bills had.
  16. had a bet today on Samuel over/under for catches at 2.5. Took the over and Thought it would be a slam dunk. Sad part is, he actually did have 3 catches , but one was behind Los so it counted as a run. Smh
  17. I agree. You can definitely sign someone off the street more reliable than Bass.
  18. Allen didn’t get hurt and he still has 0 interceptions this season. and while there was a ton of blame to go around, none should go on the QB. thats the difference between this loss and some of the early losses last year. We will get it figured out. The ravens stomp teams every now and then. Didn’t they do this to the Niners last year? Look where the Niners ended up
  19. I don't see why he wouldn't come back if we made an offer? This isn't like resigning Matt Araiza.
  20. Our opponents - who are not used to Buffalo weather - have come to Buffalo and made plenty of kicks in bad weather, more than our own kicker that has had more experience in these conditions. So yeah, we can judge him, especially if Prater is making his kicks…
  21. This is what happens when you let your QB have too much input on WR prospects...
  22. Regarding Jones, was listening to Locked on Bills a couple days ago and he said don’t be surprised if Jones is cut then immediately resigned depending on how we handle Milano. I forgot how that whole thing works, but I know we see teams doing it every year at end of the pre season (cutting and immediate resigning of a vet after another vet is placed on IR)
  23. pretty sure it was 2 in a row.... and then he played the bills. but for the record, the jets were technically still in the game prior to the Milano KO sack, and that's about as much as you can really ask for out of a backup QB imo
  24. Yes. at first because I forgot to cancel my subscription from last year so I was auto renewed and they do NOT issue refunds. but then I realized since I live in Washington state and do not have digital cable it’s probably for the best anyway.
  25. I really want Hamler to somehow make this roster. Brings a unique element that we do not really have. We saw that today. And with both him and Curtis Samuel we would have some sneaky speed among our WRs. But if it's just Samuel, well, that's not much a threat.
