Howard Simon "Winding down" from WGR
thenorthremembers replied to CountDorkula's topic in The Stadium Wall
Started listening to Howard when I moved to Buffalo for college and he was at Empire. Weird how someone you dont know can be a big part of your life for 20 years. Always been a big fan of his ability to connect with his caller's on an emotional level. Well done Howard. -

Further proof that its pretty awesome to be a professional athlete. -
The old I dropped my cigarettes from the shorts I was wearing under my dress excuse....

Right, but why not force them to do the work. If you're doing the work for them, then they can focus on other areas. While they may know it, they still had to go through the process of figuring it out. I absolutely hate the idea of these guys going on these shows and breaking down the plays. Its the NFL, dont give anyone anything.

I think they will do well this season because their schedule looks incredibly easy.

Jordan Poyer: a guess @ his new contract.
thenorthremembers replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall
Derwin James is 26 years old and in the prime of his career. Think he will be looking around the average of what Harrison Smith and Quandre Diggs signed for as they are closer to his age at signing. Given the normalization for the higher cap, that still puts his salary around 15-16 Million a year. Love Poyer but no way I am signing a 31 or 32 year old safety for that type of money on the cap. -
Said it since before he was drafted, small, weak arm, injury prone qbs with no elite skills should not be drafted in the 1st round. That said, dude needs to be in a west coast timing based offense that utilizes his smarts and quick release. The throws he was trying to make in that video didn't show that in the least. Long term backup.

Because a lot of parents view their kid as a lottery ticket. I coach JV Football and I hear parents screaming from the sidelines to put their kid in or freaking out over play calls. Meanwhile they cant get their kid to practice on time or send them with the proper equipment. They think their kids perceived talent entitles them to playing time, even when they don't make it to practice or study their playbooks. Entitlement.

The market is dry because most of the teams that potentially need a QB have someone slotted in as a starter at this point. As such, you can either give up a pick right now, and throw all the chemistry your starter has built with his team out the window or you can wait for the 49ers to cut him and try and sign him. Either way the guy is a free agent in March and I think it'd be completely foolish for a team to trade for him and then have to pay him as well. Unless you job is on the line you may as well see what you have at QB and try to sign him in the offseason if your current starter poos the bed.

Best part is he was the 3rd punter taken in his draft class.

Author Salmon Rushdie attacked at lecture in WNY
thenorthremembers replied to BillsFan4's topic in Off the Wall
Thats fair. But I think if you're unsure what happened its probably just better to report that he was attacked, and wait for details for supposing either of those things. -

Punching or stabbing? Good job AP. -
45 years old. 45. Just beyond belief.

You know him personally? You just said he is a good dude. If your theory is correct, than you'd have to know him to understand whether he is a good dude or to debate that. I feel like I am old enough and have been around enough people to get a pretty good sense. That said, he may be a good dude but he comes across as immensely immature.

Fun dude yes. Good dude, highly debatable.

Have they ever listed holder as a unique position on the depth chart before?

Jon Feliciano's take on KC playoff game
thenorthremembers replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not sure why he is still talking about the Bills. He hasnt started a game for the Bills since last October. He missed 20 of the 48 regular season games while he was here either due to injury or poor play. Time to move on Jon, you're starting to sound like a jilted boyfriend. -
Cole was a great player for us. Played with broken bones, always came up huge on third downs, and was a big part of Allen's development. The changes had nothing to do with Daboll leaving, Cole was on his way out before that happened. The changes he seems to be pointing at was the way the organization changed in response to the COVID restrictions. McDermott has always preached that he wants his players to be able to be themselves, which is what Beasley is talking about in his tweets. However, the being yourself bit cant be at the expense of the teams chemistry and success, I think thats where Cole ran into trouble with the organization. In some circumstances no one is the bad guy, it just doesnt work anymore because the situation changes. I think all of us had issues come up with people close to us during COVID because of differing opinions. I think thats exactly the case here.

OT: Belichick says that Mac's improvement is "dramatic"
thenorthremembers replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm not being sarcastic but I feel like I am missing something. What young QB did he bring a long? I feel like the entire New England coaching staff, including Bill, were very lucky to have Brady for most of their careers. -
Fans throw things at Diggs and Allen
thenorthremembers replied to Dablitzkrieg's topic in The Stadium Wall
Those fans should never be allowed in the stadium again. You're an adult, pony up the 200 bucks and buy one online. Total embarrassment to the entire fan base. Twenty years from now these same people will be telling stories about how they had a run in with Josh once and he was a jerk. Get a life.
