  1. Easy. Suh was a once-in-every-generation talent out of college --- Phillips wasn't. With that said, the Phillips pick is huge because it sets the Bills up with an anchor in the d-line for years to come when it appeared that the Star Lotulei signing would serve somewhat as insurance after K. Williams retired. Phillips I thought would go in the 2nd rd for sure, but I also believed he could be drafted late 1st rd. Phillips still being around by the time the Bills picked again in the 3rd. rd is probably the biggest "gift" of all the Bills picks. However, if you have a hard time remembering why Suh was thought of so highly, just look at his Combine numbers.
  2. Zay Jones and the health of Benjamin and Clay will be key to any success in the passing game. I don't like not having an established speedster who can separate from defenders starting at WR. But I feel good about the backups. I really think Austin Proehl will be the team's slot receiver of the future. Maybe the Bills' version of Wes Welker. Robert Foster has good size, speed, and ties to Daboll so there's that. Maybe Brandon Reilly takes a step up. I like the potential of the reserves more than the starters. Lastly I really hope Nick O' Leary or Logan Thomas can snatch the starting job from Clay.
  3. Tell me about it...you clearly have no clue of what you're talking about.
  4. I though the best question was when he asked if Firebow was the correct pronunciation of Firebaugh after fist- pumping Allen for being from Firebaugh. That's when I knew he was being a prick.
  5. Not even. I actually felt Rosen and Allen were the two of the big 5 QB's who displayed one of the most important traits needed to be a successful NFL QB while in college despite Allen's low completion percentage and meager production in a smaller conference. I was a proponent of drafting Rosen because his stats suggested that he the more accurate of the two by far. When Allen was drafted I immediately began watching more videos on him to pick out the other traits that may have justified the selection in the minds of those who made the pick and so that I could be more accepting of the pick. I'm all in with Josh Allen as the Bills QB. Given Rosen's personality he would have been perfect for this situation. That's all.
  6. Yeah and you'd be the one to show me door I'm guessing? Mr. Pro-Josh Allen-from-the-start himself. I can assure you that I didn't become a Bills fan via you and won't be going anywhere at your suggestion...lol.
  7. Groooss! Dude! That was like sooo Commonsense.
  8. Josh Rosen would have done it better.
  9. He didn't really put anybody in check. In fact he had more the look of a kid on a playground trying to avoid being goaded into taking up the schoolyard bully's invitation to a fight than a guy full of swagger. Not saying Allen doesn't have thick skin (I hope he proves to), I just don't see what you see...at least not from this video. Really sucks that they'd be poking at one of the more unassuming rookie QB's this early on. Now if they tried the slick talk with the other Josh... Video's probably going viral in a few hours and Cardinals' fans are feeling like proud papas and mamas.
  10. I was trying to gauge the accuracy of Fairchild's assessment because he's offering an in-depth breakdown of each QB and speaks so well of Allen but I don't know how much stock can be fully placed in his analysis despite all the good things he expresses about Allen. I'm willing to buy that Allen's stat struggles are a result of a poor supporting cast, but become a little iffy on Fairchild's analysis somewhat when checking Mason Rudolph's breakdown to see if he would mention some of the flaws in his game that I saw and see none of them really highlighted. Rudolph's ball placement isn't great all the time despite having one of the better career completion percentages among the QB's, as he threw the ball too high for his receivers to make a play after the catch at times (including passes to Marcell Ateman, 6-4 WR). I chalked it up to him being a taller QB with a higher release point. He also doesn't appear to have great pocket awareness at times; there were plays where he'd be so stuck on his receiver downfield that he didn't notice the defensive pressure of a four-man rush whatsoever, was sacked, and stripped of the football. He gives Rudolph pretty good scores across the board except for when it comes to his mobility. I can buy that Allen will have greater success in the NFL being surrounded by better players given his abilities, it sounds fair, but I'm unsure of the accuracy of Fairchild's complete assessment.
  11. Won't this just open the door for more speculation that the refs are in cahoots with the Patriots whenever they play the Bills and get the favor of head-scratching calls?
  12. What does that even mean? Promise is promise whether you think it showed in just the 1st half or 2nd half of a rookie season. I'm pretty confident that they moved him because of injury concerns after he missed the entire next season and not because of the final eight games of his rookie season.
  13. I might be more prone to believe in typos. What does PFF say?
  14. I honestly was still in shock that they would trade Alonso after he showed so much promise as a rookie even with McCoy being the player they swapped for.
  15. Just seeing the Eagles get quality Bills' players again and again whether through trades or signings really got under my skin.
  16. Mo Porter looks like the best UDFA OL. He looks like he could have a position on the interior. Maybe RG. Just sayin'.
  17. I'm not basing my opinion on what McBeane thought of Watkins, it's based on how productive he was during his time as a Bills player given the high expectations.
  18. Thurman Thomas. Fred Jackson, Travis Henry, and Karlos Williams for their production. CJ Spiller, Marshawn Lynch, Willis McGahee, and Antowain Smith for the hope they brought along with the occasional really big game.
  19. My point is that you can't entertain the draft positioning in this assumed scenario where the Bills' day one draft board holds to actual draft day form, because nothing's in play that would allow a move up to 7. There's no mention of any trades that would enable the Bills to land the 7th pick from the 12th spot, but the two 2nd rders that were actually involved in the Bills moving up, have been removed from the equation; therefore you can't entertain Josh Allen falling to the Bills at 7. To me, the 'guarantee' of Allen to the Bills with the exclusion of the two second round picks reads as though the OP believes the Bills could have had Allen at 12 without making any moves. Ward at 4, Allen at 12, and Edmunds possibly at 16 still is how his scenario reads to me.
  20. How are the Bills even picking at 7 if they aren't using the two 2nd rd picks to move up as suggested in this trade scenario?
  21. How do you say the Bills would be 'guaranteed' to still get Allen, but 'likely' to still get Edmunds? I think if you had to do the draft over again there's a better chance that Allen is off the board before Buffalo gets a shot at him than Edmunds not being available by the time the Bills picked again, most certainly if the Bills don't include either 2nd rd picks in a move to climb the draft board to get Allen. You don't trade an established young player away like that for an unproven player at the same position. For all anybody knows Denzel Ward is Justin Gilbert all over again. A db selected within the top 10, with 4.3 speed who doesn't pan out for one reason or another.
  22. I like Siran Neal. He's physical with good size. Seems the more likely of the two to develop into that next really good lockdown corner to be passed over by teams because he lacked 4.40 combine speed.
