  1. No. I think the staff is trying to drive home the message to him that commitment to this new culture and production wins out. I think that along with him not being a full go is why he isn't seeing more action. 60-40 Discipline -injury. When fully healthy I think he's incorporated into the defense more and more. They've already driven home the message that it's all about production/commitment, nothing will just be given due to your big name, and that the team can win without you.
  2. Yep. And people still find reasons to not like him so...
  3. My point exactly. So how about waiting to see if he gets extended playing time when healthy and what he produces before completely turning on him?
  4. And how exactly did you determine that Dareus has zero ambition to play football? Only reason I bring up the McDermott hiring is because I know that many of the people who are all onboard now with this 3-1 start, scoffed at the idea of hiring McDermott in favor of more notable options. A lot of times people see the benefits in a thing only after it becomes very obvious. Those calling for a Dareus-dump right now would likely change their tune with positive results from a healthy Dareus under the new regime, much like people have about McDermott and the team's direction after the 3-1 start. Not saying this new regime doesn't continue to clean house and wash its hands clean of Dareus, but the calls for a talent like him to be traded as soon as a week from now without even seeing if he's gotten the message from the new guys is absolutely absurd and hasty.
  5. Of course a sore ankle is no big deal to you because you're not standing on it. The defense hasn't missed a beat without him because he doesn't make the defense by himself. Did you even call for this great start at the beginning of the season? Did you even call the McDermott hiring like I did? If no, I don't think you have any room to be so dismissive of what Dareus has to offer to this team. I think the coaching staff understands the talent he is better than you do.
  6. You all are nuts if you think Dareus can't still wreck sh** on the field. I don't know where people get this "Dareus is lazy" crap from. He's very effective and is a huge asset on defense. He just needs to show professionalism and maturity when away from the field. What? He hasn't been healthy. The defense becomes that much more of a problem with him. You don't let him go just like that. The sack totals will only increase with a healthy Dareus in the lineup. You guys turn on talented players who run into a little trouble in a heartbeat even when they are contributors much like you'll lose faith in the team entirely after a loss until the next win.
  7. Blah, blah, blah...
  8. Yeah buddy! EJ Gaines looking better than Stephon Gilmore on the right and Tre'Davious White looking like he's coming into his own on the left. NO TANK in the Bills vocab! 2-1!!! Let's keep it going.
  9. These folks are fickle just like women.
  10. You're either blind or simply just a liar. That was a hold on Incognito, just not a blatant one. Incognito also got bullrushed into Taylor for the sack. Incognito is the stupid one and he's also overrated.
  11. There's your Bills tatted-up, tough guy, meathead, Richie Incognito killing the drive singlehandedly. I bet his BFF Eric Wood just allows him to walk off the field and back to the bench like it was no big deal.
  12. Now I'm just not understanding this new regime. Starting to think someone has a bad case of Chip Kellyitis.
  13. What!?! They cut Jonathan Williams???
  14. Preseason is precisely where you judge him. Are you basing your he does "his best at gametime" comment from his Clemson games? Just call it straight, the dude isn't an impact player or scary in the NFL regardless of his menacing, gonna-start-a-barroom-fight physical appearance that he established in college.
  15. I doubt it, Alexander was mentioned as being one of the leaders McDermott was counting on to guide the younger players. But that would be a surprise. I'd say Logan Thomas because they talked so much about his upside. A more shocking one that could happen, but I hope doesn't, is Nick O'Leary being cut.
  16. Yeah I know...you should be grateful.
  17. I like the signing. He used to throw to an explosive receiver who I believe still plays in the NFL (his name just escapes me) and Jordan Williams. He put up big numbers at Ball State. I think it's a solid signing. Hopefully his play at Ball State translates to success this time around in Buffalo. Still pulling for my guy Nathan Peterman, but Wenning could prove to be a really solid pickup.
  18. You start Taylor. If the offense struggles under him, then you play Peterman early in the season.
  19. I actually hadn't watched Mahomes when I formed the opinion that he "looks good" in his preseason play in a thread I recently started, I was going off of his preseason stats, so essentially I was merely stating that his numbers look pretty good. Just looked at his throws in both preseason games for the heck of it last night, and I'm reminded of why I preferred Nathan Peterman in a later round, over Mahomes with the 10th pick, or in any round with both still available. Someone stated that drafting Nathan Peterman in the 3rd or 4th rd., where I felt he could've gone, would've been a reach; the Chiefs and Andy Reid got their guy, but I definitely think they reached for Mahomes, especially considering what they gave up to move up to get him. Despite the success Mahomes has had in the preseason, and he may be an extraordinary talent, he just looks awkward and very un-NFL QB at times after the snap.
  20. You can only now say the Bills should've taken Dak Prescott in the 3rd rd.because he played like an all-pro his rookie season, Peterman hasn't yet proven himself as a pro and because he actually landed with the Bills vs.another team who jumped on him ahead of the Bills who he in turn played extremely well for. Your opinion is based purely in hindsight. Peterman wouldn't have been a reach in the 4th round, but since you believe this to be true, you also have to believe Prescott being drafted in the 3rd rd. in place of Adolphus Washington would have also been considered a reach, given that he was selected in the 4th rd, just a few picks ahead of the Bills having their chance to take him.
  21. Same here, I thought the Bills should've taken him 3rd rd. Just glad they saw qualities worthy of drafting him at all, because it was nerve-wracking to see him available round after round falling to the next. He's gonna prove to be better than a lot of people think if the Bills opt to stick with him through his development. I'm a little more optimistic about winning. Why not now? New system that everyone starts fresh with and we've got the players from last season who feel the Bills were almost there. I think the veteran guys can get the other players to rally behind them. That along with smart coaching, I think the Bills can at the very least hit .500.
  22. There's genuinely a lot to be optimistic about with the new regime in place. The organization has made a good deal of impact moves and I agree with all but one, and that one may still pay off in the end. There were three major moves that happened during the offseason that I was all over: 1. The signing of Sean McDermottt as the Bills head coach after the departure of Rex Ryan. 2. The drafting of Nathan Peterman. 3. The drafting of a potential No.1 receiver to replace Sammy Watkins with. The Bills look pretty horrid this preseason with all the penalties mounting game after game, but I chalk that up to not having the undisciplined play established while under Rex Ryan being flushed out of the system of the players completely yet. It's only been two games but it takes time for a team with bad habits to take up a new coach's identity and morph into the team that he envisions. With Sean McDermott and this new coaching staff, it's only a matter of time before the culture change is complete, the team begins adapting to the new style of play, and positive results begin to show. Nathan Peterman. With all the talk about QB's this offseason it was a delight to see a guy you coveted actually get selected in the draft. With the way things ended in Buffalo this past season, there was a bunch of uncertainty at the QB position. Had we seen the last of Tyrod Taylor? Was Cardale Jones the guy? Which QB should the Bills draft in 2017? Of course as things played out, Tyrod returned, Cardale Jones was traded to the L.A. Chargers and former Bills coach Anthony Lynn, and Nathan Peterman was selected in the 5th rd. Some fans fear that Cardale Jones will blossom under different coaching and a cannon arm with potential, would have walked away for next to nothing in return. Time will tell what Cardale Jones really has to offer as a QB, but I don't share those same fears, because as I stated before the NFL Combine process, Senior Bowl Weekend, and the NFL Draft, Nathan Peterman is already the better QB between himself and Jones if Cardale hasn't made many any strides from the previous season. I even went on to state that Peterman has qualities, as a rookie, that surpass that of Tyrod Taylor right now. He was the QB I preferred if the Bills passed on Mitch Trubisky, DeShaun Watson, and DeShone Kizer in the 1st rd., preferring him over Patrick Mahomes III, who the Bills ironically helped the Chiefs land by trading out of its original draft spot. I must admit Mahomes has looked good in the preseason, but so has Peterman's accuracy, pocket awareness, decision-making, and poise as a rookie. I bet people's eyes are being opened now to what Peterman brings to the table. The Sammy Watkins trade was a shocker, but it was a move that I understood completely. Regardless of how Watkins' career pans out with the Los Angeles Rams, the decision was solid. For a long time I thought the Bills needed to bring in a wide receiver who would not just complement Watkins, but could outright replace him as the team's No. 1 receiver and I think the Bills finally have that in Zay Jones. Not as heralded out of college as Watkins was out of Clemson, but I think his ability along with his intangibles will prove him to be the receiver fans hoped Watkins would be when drafted No. 4 in 2014. The injuries, made the trade make sense, the potential contract situation given his history of injuries made it make sense, and the fact that I always felt the Watkins was a slightly overrated impact player for the Bills made the trade make sense...at least to me. The only move I'm somewhat skeptical about is the trade of Ronald Darby to the Philly, and man was my Skept-O-Meter going crazy after he intercepted Tyrod Taylor and nearly returned it for a TD. Luckily E.J. Gaines, the DB who was nabbed along with an extra 3rd rounder returned the favor later in the game. So I'm a little more hopeful that McDermott and the Bills coaching staff know something about E.J. Gaines that most Bills fans' probably don't. All in all, a very good off-season. The addition of Sean McDermott, Nathan Peterman, Zay Jones, stud rookies from last season returning healthy, solid trades/FA signings, and a slew of additional 2018 draft picks, things are finally looking up for the Bills This time, for real. No better time to reverse the Bills fortune than by winning this upcoming 2017 season. Go Bills!
