  1. Actually... I think you are right.
  2. There's lots of other ways, but I choose that one Because the organization spent a starting corner and a third round pick for a player they let go 16 games later and then signed a similar on field player for 80 million dollars claiming he is a "class act" and a "true professional" without playing a down. No straws grasped.
  3. Rams send uber talented but douchy Watkins on his way and signs less talented Brandin Cooks to 5 years 80 million. "Brandin Cooks has shown himself to be a class act on and off the field since the first day he joined our team," Rams coach Sean McVay said in a statement. "He's a proven professional in this league and signing him to a long-term contract was always our goal. We're excited to keep Brandin in a Rams uniform through 2023." If that isn't a shot at Watkins I don't know what is. See that all you Watkins fanboys? Talent isn't everything and not being a dick matters too. But let me guess, McD and McVay are wrong and you all are right. BWAAA HAAHAA
  4. I agree with this and it is the reason why I think Josh Allen is in the best position of all rookie QB's and has the best chance to succeed. McD earned himself at least 3 years with the Bills making the playoffs last year so he gets to play it however he feels fit. That is the exact opposite position of say the Browns or the Jets. If things don't go well early for either of those franchises the head coaches may throw the rookies in as a Hail Mary to save their jobs whether the rooks are ready or not and could inhibit the progress of either player. IF McD and Daboll read it right and make the right decision on when to play the Allen It will make a huge difference in his career. Simulator or Live bullets? Biggest decision the coach will have to make with the Buffalo Bills. I personally trust McD, regardless of his NP decision last year. So I think things are lining up for Allen, it will be interesting to see where it goes.
  5. I agree with this. Everyone has a different ratio. I'm closer to Teef, about 25% Arby's and 75% Horsey....
  6. Great write up Shaw and I agree with the sentiment that all signs are showing improvement and success. What stands out the most to me looking from the outside is that they actually seem like they are WORKING. It always seemed like Whaley was playing a game and Rex was playing a game. It never seemed like they were going to WORK. I can almost say the same for Russ Brandon. The last person I felt like was working was Doug Marrone, and the reason he quit was because no one else was. You have to work to be great in the league and it seems like this regimes works their collective asses off.
  7. I find it hysterical how you are inferring "Richie" is some victim in this situation based on his very public past and his very public tweeting and erratic behavior during the time of his so called retirement. "Richie" is not a child although he does often act like one and it is my opinion that is the reason he is no longer a Bill. Evidently this regime likes to deal with young men who act like adults both on and off the field. History says Incognito has issues with both of those tasks. Addition by subtraction is what someone said in this thread, that's exactly what it is. It will be very interesting to see if he finds employment elsewhere after he was basically kicked off his 3rd team for off field actions towards fellow teammates, coaches or management and if he does find that employment if he will make as much as the Bills offered. I would guess no.
  8. This conversation sounds very familiar, like 2017 familiar. Only last year the offense sucked because of the OC, the QB and the OL. Well now the offense sucks because we got rid of the OC, the QB and the OL. And questioning the Defense in Fraser's second year that includes the addition of Vontae Davis, Trent Murphy, rookies Edmunds and Phillips, and Star, plus Milano and White in their sophomore seasons, plus arguably the best safety tandem in the league is simply dumb. I think the Bills are every bit as good as last year other than left guard and center.
  9. Here's how the next 2 days will go: If Allen throws bad and misses guys then he sucks. If Allen throws great and completes every pass it's cause it's only rookie minicamp and he sucks.
  10. Oooo, im only 4 hours. That'd be a fun trip. Nashville is a top notch city to visit.
  11. Zo is slightly overpaid, I agree with that, but bringing up Fred Jackson kind of makes my point for the way McD thinks. IMO Jackson was a ****ty cut and I don't think McD would have cut him for leadership reasons. Whaleys mindset in doing so is a reason he wasn't successful. That's the leadership/culture part that McD gets off on and the previous regime ignored. Hence, less talent, make playoffs. Now Logan Thomas..... He might get cut, but would not be a surprise I agree.
  12. That article sucks. An internet hack making about 40k a year for a B league site expressing their beliefs that the Bills don't know what they're doing is a joke. They cleaned up the trash at OBD, made the playoffs, drafted their franchise QB and stud MLB, and cleared the cap for 2019. WTF else could they do in 1 year? Ffs.
  13. Zo is the elder statesman of the LB Corp and will be invaluable in that room with the addition of Edmunds and year 2 of Milano. Plus McD really gets off on that Leadership council ****. Plus he is still an absolute stud on special teams. No way he gets cut.
  14. Wow, you put in a lot of time for a post that is so wrong it is hard to fathom. I disagree with every one of these and could go into detail, but I will just say one thing that encompasses them all... These are all McDermott and Beane guys either by picking them up or keeping them for leadership and will be integral parts of the makeup of the roster. Terrible take on this subject.
  15. I'm in the camp of not merging threads unless they are identical orrecent news posted at the same time by mistake. Often times similar threads take conversations in different directions and those conversations can get disjointed when threads are merged. I'm not complaining and I really don't give a !@#$, but if anyone asked my opinion, which no one did, I would vote for less merging. I don't know what the big deal is with more threads to be honest.
  16. Until Allen actually proves he doesn't have the accuracy required to thrve in the NFL, all this stuff from "internet forum troll" is just talk.
  17. I'll be at Lambeau as well. I'm hoping for a Bills invasion...
  18. I get it... We are all trying to find any comparisons we can find. I've been doing it for 2 weeks. In the end I hope there are no comparisons at all that he's the future of the position...
  19. Yep and if Allen had all of the other traits of Fitzy, he would have been drafted in the 7th round as well. Fortunately, Allen is .1 sec. faster, 3 inches taller, can throw the ball farther and harder than any other human that has ever been drafted. Completion Percentage maybe the one comparable at this point but it's certainly the only one. But since this is the Austin Proehl thread and me living in NC and watching a ton of the kid, IMO I could safely assume if Austin Proel played for the Wyoming Cowboys, Josh Allen would have a completion percentage well over his 56.6%. I think he makes the squad.
  20. Terrible take. Jerry Rice went to Mississippi Valley State. Andre Reed went to Kutztown. Roethlisberger went to Miami of Ohio. Wentz went to North Dakota State. Mack went to UB. Moss went to Marshall. Farve went to S Miss There's no reason to continue. Allen took a perennial losing (2-10 before he got there) team and turned it into a Bowl game winner basically on his own. Ignorant take.
  21. Defense will be improved with: Borderline elite secondary with Davis, Hyde, Poyer, White. Improved LB corp with Edmunds in the middle and 2nd year of Milano. Improved DL with Star and Kyle in the middle, Trent and Hughs on the outside rotating Yarborough and Lawson Offense better with: QB: AJ McCarron will be better than Tyrod. WR: Zay Jones can't be worse and KB in contract year TE: OLeary comes into his own RB: Ivory best back up since Karlos, Shady as good as ever. OL: Well....... This could derail the whole season, but.... I'll say they match last year, 9-7. OVER.
  22. The value of analytics of a player on the field diminishes as the sport becomes more team orientated. Thats why in baseball advanced analytics is becoming such a huge part of the on field evaluation. While baseball is a team sport, the game is essentially a series of one-on-one events where one man's skill is going against anothers. Basketball, with only 5 men on the court is another sport where advanced analytics of on field play will play a big role. In football almost every play on the field is successful because of the work of the entire group or at minimum 2 people. There are very few plays that are successful because of one individual and if it is then it is considered a "broken play". In fact, many times the analysis of a player can be skewed in the wrong direction when said player plays for a great "team". (When was the last QB Heisman winner a Superbowl champ?) There are Advanced Analytics in regards to an individual players skill set and Allen was highly rated in all of those tests, including accuracy. In my mind The Bills used more advanced analytics than any other team when rating the QB's.
  23. You obviously don't Trust the Process. First off, there was no way McDermott was going to draft the franchise QB into that piss poor locker room culture. Secondly, Pegula wasn't going to let Whaley draft the next potential franchise QB as a lame duck GM. Drafting the franchise QB was always going to be this year and for Beane to get to #7 to draft one especially after a surprising playoff run is awesome GMing. To think the Bills were drafting Watson or Mahomes last year is ignorant and should never be an argument against drafting Allen. That being said, to put Mahomes in the same category as Allen as a prospect is even more ridiculous. Allen would be drafted ahead of Mahomes every single time if they were in the same year.
