  1. If Beane doesn't trade up and he's there at 12, I would feel good about it. I'm not sure if he will make it that far TBH.
  2. TBH, it feels like Beane and McD have had a horse shoe rammed up their collective asses and I hope it stays lodged in there for one more month and either the guy they want falls to them or they move up to get the guy they want and in either case he's a HOFer. Is that too much to ask?
  3. I get it. But if they overpaid for #2 and picked Allen who, in my opinion, has the feeling of a big arm bust, I would be sick to my stomach and would never want to be more wrong in my entire life.
  4. I'm not sure which 21 year old QB is the can't miss, sure fire hall of famer everyone wants.... Oh yeah, everyone wants someone different. I can't wait til a move is made so 80% of you can piss and moan over who was picked and call Beane an idiot for picking him.
  5. I'm sure glad they didn't have cell phones when I was in college...
  6. You should change your name to ****ty poster.
  7. This seems plausible for Baker Mayfield fans. In @DannyBKelly’s second mock NFL draft of the year, he looks at which franchise quarterbacks the Jets and Bills will land: https://t.co/sjw3H6exNI
  8. I could have written that piece and I'm a fat old man sitting on my couch skimming the internet and watching TV. Only difference is that I would have showed the off season in the Bills favor because I'm a life long fan and eternal optimist. Doesn't mean I know any more or less than the kids making $60k to put their drivel on NFL.com. He had a deadline to complete a task just like any of us and was trying to get it done by 5 so he could get to the bar, have a drink and try to !@#$ a chick before his buddy does. I wouldn't worry too much about his opinion.
  9. Then there has never been a "total" rebuild in the history of the NFL. Which I suppose you could say is true but then again it comes down to semantics. What we agree on is that the Bills are in the midst of a high level rebuild of some kind and it has included the GM, practically every coaching position and starting position and in the process made the playoffs which is very impressive. Impressive enough that you assume they will make the right decisions this spring especially since we don't know squat. ?
  10. How nice of a Jets fan to come visit. It's great you have such optimism for your plan B after Cousins left you waiting at the alter. It actually seems quite crazy to put your faith in the final Hail Mary move by a regime that has done a miserable job for three years and a 21 year old Dbag QB from California who you may or may not get. You will get a QB, that is true, it may not be the one you want but keep the faith in your "best case scenario" possibilities, because that is what you gave up 3 2nd rounders for... A possibility. And don't worry about getting rid of Bowles, it won't be that hard when the new GM comes in with his new staff. Just hope he likes that shiny new quarterback you just paid for.
  11. It's completely semantics. The only reason some don't consider it a "total" rebuild is because McD kept around a handful of vets to help the culture rebuild portion of the total rebuild, a 9-7 record which shocked everyone and a playoff birth. If the Bills finished with a 3-13 or 4-12 record everyone would consider it a total rebuild. They have changed every starting position on the football team other than about 5 and they are rotational. You can't judge a rebuild by record only by actions. The fact the Bills stayed competitive with so many new players as well as gaining draft capital is a testament to the quality of the job of the rebuild. But IMO it was and is continuing to be a total rebuild.
  12. I promise you that Beane is not going to overpay for a draft spot. He will move up if he believes the value of what he gives = the value of the spot. The Jets gave up the equivalent of the overall first round pick to move up 3 spots. That is absolutely getting it shoved right in the ass. Complete panic move. Come draft day, if the player Beane covets is still around at 5 or 6 or 7 etc., Beane may make a move, but he is trading for a PLAYER, not a DRAFT SPOT. Besides that there is not one person in their right mind that would bet their life that Rosen or Darnold will be better than say Jackson or Rudolph. It's probable, but not a certainty. Not certain enough to give 3 second round picks when you might have gotten one anyway. 2018 First 3 round Draft Picks: Jets 3, 72. Bills 12, 22, 53, 56, 65, 96. From MMQB: STARTING PLAYERS IN THE 2018 NFL DRAFT INTERLUDE.Interesting question. Queried about how many starting-caliber players they felt were in this draft, six scouting people or GMs over the weekend came back with these figures: 35, “40 to 50,” “about 70,” 73, “75-ish,” 83 and 111. I asked because I wanted to figure out whether it made sense for the Colts to try to trade down one more time. ASTERISK TO STARTING PLAYER INTERLUDE. One of those teams said if you considered “situational starters” like third corners or slot corners, slot receivers or slotback/receiver types like Christian McCaffrey, he’d add 32 players to his team’s total. Jets: Josh McCown 1 year 10 million Bills: AJ McCarron 2 years 10 million Bills are destroying the Jets this off season up to this point and it's not even close.
  13. No way McD was going to draft the young franchise QB last year with the stink of the Ryan brothers still so fresh in the building and still so early in the process of changing the culture. I think it will be different this year.
  14. I'm not sure Beane thinks that way. From what he has said, and I have no reason not to believe him, he is pretty strict about the value of players and draft picks. IMO he has a value of moving to #2 and the Jets being at 3 doesn't change that value and no way he is going to get in a bidding war with the Jets for the 3rd pick in the draft when 1 and 2 are decided. We can play the "what if the Browns go Darnold and the Giants go Barkley" before the draft, but Beane won't and it's irresponsible for him to do so. Now if that scenario actually did happen and Beane wanted Rosen?.... Then he might up the ante but it will be based on his value of Rosen not the #3 pick. And I think that is the point of the thread. We don't know. And more importantly neither do the Jets and the Bills. There was not enough information for the Jets to make that expensive move for a question mark.
  15. Too much gloom and doom in this thread. The Jets way overpaid for the right to draft a player with the #3 pick when they already had the #6 with very little draft capital and a very weak roster. On top of that the Jets organization has just, in the past week, given $15-$20 million to the QB position which everyone assumes and rightfully so that they will draft. The fact of the matter is, there is no guarantees in this league about players drafted. There is no sure thing. To mortgage 5 years of a franchises future by giving up 3 2nd round draft picks to move up 3 spots is irresponsible and ignorant, especially if you havent done the work to gather draft assets like the Bills have done in 1 short year. Beane will not overpay to move up to draft a player who is not a sure thing. It is the very same reasoning why he didn't give Sam Bradford $20 million and why he didn't give Keenum $20 million. They are not worth it. The team the Bills need to worry about after this trade is the Indianaplois Colts, not the NY Jets. If Gettleman makes a fair offer, I expect Beane to move up, if he doesn't, I expect Beane to wait and see what unfolds. In my opinion Beane thinks the Jets made a huge mistake today. It was a panic move and a bad one as it stands tonight.
  16. Nate Peterman is going to be the back-up IMO. Maybe a vet for clipboard holding.
  17. Have to admit this is pretty exciting and it seems obvious they are looking to move up to get the guy they want. I think they have to wait to see what the Browns do at 1 and have a few plans in place depending on what they will have to give up to move up. If the Browns take Barkley at 1 and the Giants don't want to take a QB, the price for that spot goes down significantly with the assumption that Chubb is going 3. Suddenly a trade with the Broncos or the Jets at 5 or 6 may get you your guy assuming one of the two take Cousins. I guess it depends how risky Beane wants to be going forward. We have enough picks to go to #2 right now but if he wants to wait he might get his guy for a lot less. It's a crazy time..... No way they make this trade with the idea that Glenn is a top 10 LT. They spent an entire year with him and have a good idea what they thought he was worth, it was less than Cincy which values out to a mid second. It is very hard to question them so far when they have arguably more talent on this team now as they did before the 2017 season, they have reduced the salary by an obscene amount of $ and they have an insane amount of picks. Regardless of what happens going forward no way this team has been set back. Oh and we made the playoffs last year.?
  18. I threw up in my mouth just a little bit when I read this.
  19. Add the 1st rounder for 2018 and the 2017 draft looks as good as anyone's at this point. Won't know for sure for 3-4 years.
  20. No one has to honor a verbal commitment. But most men with honor do. I think it is safe to say, based on all reporting, that there was a verbal commitment made by McDaniels to the Colts. Unfortunately for the Colts(or fortunately), I think it is safe to say, based on all reporting, that McDaniels is a douchebag with very little honor. He was a known to be douchy at Denver, douchy at St. Louis and he comes off as douchy at NE. Douchebagery is not a great quality for a head coach but you can get away with it as an OC. Belichek is a dick but not a douchebag. Big difference in my book. McDaniels as head coach of NE is good for the Bills and can't come soon enough. This will go down as another decision that will lead to the downfall of the Patriot dynasty. I'm confident of it.
