  1. We are not talking about all players. We are talking about Eric Woods.
  2. Every player has a chance to be put on IR whether they were on IR before or not. That argument is terrible.
  3. We are not talking about 30 other players. We are talking about Eric Woods who played every snap in 2017.
  4. This in unequivocally not true.
  5. Some folks say Center is the second most important position on offense. just sayin'
  6. This is not a good post. Eric Woods played very well this year and the contract was fair for both parties barring the injury which certainly nobody knew about. To accuse any medical staff of letting a player continue to play football with a life threatening issue is irresponsible.
  7. I'm not sure this is that hard to understand based on what Beane has said or done over the past year. If NFL teams reach for QB's then certainly Beane will get what he considers top 10 talent at 21 and 22. If a QB falls outside the Top 10 that he covets as a top 10 talent then I am sure he will make every effort to go get him because he will consider it value. In the end it all comes down to Beane and his staffs ability to evaluate the talent in the draft. I don't see any scenario where he and McD overpay to move up for anyone. It just doesn't seem like their style.
  8. This. None of those players listed were the reason the teams were playing yesterday or won yesterday except maybe Gilly and personally I think it was an underthrown inaccurate ball by Bortles. And Marrone quit on the Bills because Whaley was a bad GM.
  9. There have been many times I have been amazed by Tyrod Taylor on the football field. Every time it has been him miraculously avoiding a pass rusher (or 3) and running or throwing it on a broken play. Never has it been a cerebral play call presnap where he recognized a defense and made an adjustment and rarely because of a great throw. That doesn't make him dumb, but to say he isn't in the bottom third of QB's with QB smarts is just lying to yourself. Personally I think Badoll and and McD move on from him for this reason more than any. They are going to trade him in for a smarter, better thrower of the football. Similar to what Badoll and Saban did in the second half of the National Championship game.
  10. Very good point and I don't deny that the Bills receiving corp could make Tyrod look like a much better QB stat wise by making a few standard catches as well as one or two great catches. But as an overall picture of the offense IMO our quarterback had enough talent on the field to score 14-24 points. Did Zay help Tyrod? No. But Tyrod didn't help him either and I put that more on Tyrod. I'm excited to see this WR group with a true deep threat, a new OC and a new QB.
  11. Big Ben was fantastic on Sunday and if i recall every TD pass was perfect. If Tyrod played 1/10th as good a week ago, the Bills win going away against the Jags. You should never make any comparison between Ben and Tyrod. Ever. Also, I would like you to post one "perfect" pass Tyrod threw to Jones all year. I watched every single play this year probably twice and I can't remember one "perfect" pass to Zay Jones. I'm not saying the kid was good this year, but ffs he's a rookie. You are way over the top critical IMO.
  12. He did install his own offense, I don't think he ever intended not to and I don't think he ever told the head coach that he was not going to. I believe McD interviewed him and believed him when he said Tyrod could work in his system. Obviously Tyrod couldn't work in his system but at that point there was nothing that could be done. The bed was made. I do think Dennison tried to change some of the offense to suit Tyrod but I think you are right, he's wasn't a good enough teacher to make it work. And on top of that Tyrod wasn't talented enough to be even serviceable in Dennison's offense. But all of that being said, they scored enough points to win enough games to make the playoffs and that is what I meant by managing the talent of the QB. Maybe that is not the right way to say it, maybe I should say he did an admiral job managing the offense. For McD to realize his mistake and make the change to Daboll so quickly gives me even more hope that he may be a very good coach for the long term. Assuming of course eventually he makes a good decision on the leader of that side of the ball. Let's hope Daboll is that guy.
  13. Certainly not on purpose but he will be on the roster. He may surprise everyone and play fantastic.
  14. Dennison was brought in to manage the roster we had and I think he did an admiral job in managing the talent on the roster especially the QB position. IMO Daboll is being brought in to build an offense that I would be surprised he and McD haven't talked about for longer than the 2 days it took to hire him. It may not work, but it is obvious the Pegulas are going young with McD(it is really his defense), Beane and now Daboll. I would be shocked if the QB next year isn't young as well whether it be Peterman or another rook. I personally think it is a good strategy. They turned over the defense in a year and there's no reason why they wouldn't think they could do the same with the offense. It should be a very interesting couple of years in Bills country.
  15. I wouldn't bother. Save your time and make the reasonable assumption that what he has learned over the last 6 years would make it absolute.
  16. That's very true oldtimer and a very good point. I think that trade was for Kelvin Sheppard so it's not the same as a draft pick but it turned out very good for the Bills. Maybe I wouldn't trade Lawson for less than a mid-fourth. But if the idea is to stockpile picks to get a QB they love I'm all for trading what I would consider an interchangable player. This is a good post. McD has been talking about versatility all year. Versatile to play different positions and versatility within a position. We have to assume McD and Wauffle have tried to coach up Lawson on certain techniques and he hasn't been able to pick it up. I'm sure the decision is based on more than we as fans see on Sunday. It's what coaches see throughout the week too.
  17. Did you watch any games this year? Hughes had a much greater impact on games, and of course Hughes played twice as many. Asking a value question between the 2 is not too bright.
  18. This. What seem like innocent calls are game changing. Reversing a call on fourth down in the Patriots favor adds to the time of possession issues. Be smarter than that.
  19. This can not be true. Is this true?
  20. I'm not exactly sure what you are talking about but no one is running anywhere to take Lawson in the fifth round with the last 2 years of hindsight. Lawson played about 8 games and was replaced by guys off the street without much fall off. The fact of the matter is Lawson was taken 19th overall and the Bills prolly won't get a 5th for him 2 years later. He is not a bust yet but the fat lady is certainly warming up.
  21. I agree that coaches don't care who picked the talent if it fits their scheme and Lawson simply doesn't. Coach's don't pick players that don't fit there scheme and they most certainly do "dump" (although I think that is the wrong word) them when they don't. That is also why Beane is being "hyper" (a little dramatic don't have think?) aggresive gaining draft picks which really is my point. So I guess we just disagree on the quality of Lawson as a player as we agree on everything else.
  22. Ragland didnt fit McD's scheme and neither does Lawson. It makes absolutely no difference how released or traded players play on a different team. The coach is not going to keep around mediocre players that he didn't choose and doesn't fit his DNA, you certainly know that by now. I would rather have a player that the coaching staff is completely vested in than an over reach by a former regime. Lawson will never be good enough. In fact, the defensive line did not drop off at all when he went on IR. If they get a decent draft pick, say a 4th or 5th, IMO do it.
  23. I laughed out loud when I read this post. This dude is just awesome. Absolutely does not give one **** what anyone else says. Hysterical.
  24. Would anyone be interested in Seahawks OC Bevell and Louisville's Jackson? Would seem like an interesting combo if true Bevell is being let go.
