In retrospect, the trade up to get Losman that cost us a chance at Aaron Rodgers is only rivaled by passing on Brady on 2001. At the time of draft day, however, I wanted Orakpo over Maybin and Ngata over Whitner. I didn't know enough about Gronk at the time to really want him when we picked Troup (although I wasn't a fan of the Troup pick at the time either).

As much as I love his receiving abilities, I don't think he's a good fit for Buffalo. If he was a good fit, a trade like this might have some merit.

Hmm. I'm reading about it now on its Wiki page and I'm surprised to see that there is actually a lot of debate on the historical impact of the treaty. Tbf, the war reparations from WWI were a major strain on the German economy. Some in Britain believed that their abandonment would bring about an economic boom. The harsh terms of the Versailles Treaty practically guaranteed eventual political turmoil in Germany in the 20s and 30s.
