  1. So I figure this being Jim Kelly's 25th anniversary of his last game, I would have a little fun comparing highlights. Jim Kelly tribute highlights I thought was a short yet cool video of some of the things he did with his are back then. I realize this is early in Josh Allen's career but why not have some fun yes? Here's Jimbo! So this was a lot of throws wrapped up in a short period of time.. Kind of why I liked this one for Kelly. Now a days every little detail is recorded and there is a ton of video's out for Josh Allen yet finding full career highlights for him I could not find soo seeing last year was Josh's break out year, I went with this video here Here's Josh! Built in Buffalo did a good job putting tons of passes in this video as well. Will Josh Allen be a better QB then Jim Kelly? Throw away the stats cause we are in 2 different era's of football.. Just as a whole. Kelly's play calls.. Amazing reads as the play developed.. quick decision making.. or... Josh Allen? Rocket arm. Extremely mobile. Here is to 25 years and to finally go into this year not being worried about if your QB cuts it or not... Cheers! Feel free if you find any other or better video's to compare add video from both players in reply or talk about the comparisons of the 2 players and who you think will or was better. Enjoy!
  2. Put a third Down HB out there for blocking. as for runs for negative yards? heck that is happening right now. never win for the team is different then what you were saying... I get that now.. I would still disagree. McCoy was a 1000 yard rusher. McCoy alone with garbage passing won us many games and when you run as much as we did because we did not have the passing game, there would be more stuffs for a loss.. that happens with running teams.. Baltimore is a good example of that happening lots. When you talk about East West runners you are talking about players with speed.. McCoy was faster then Singletary. Moss is faster then McCoy and I would consider him to be a East-West runner without the moves McCoy had. On top of all of that.. McCoy new how to run decent routs and in open field made the first one miss gaining lots of YAC. Our screen game was amazing with McCoy.. you count on him. He is my point. Any 1000 yard runner in their prime would get this team over the hump and into the SB. That should not be debatable. I would argue with you that McCoy on this team with Josh Allen, his average would go way up.. Teams could not just sit in nickel or dime all day.. We would force teams to worry about the run game.. The Threat of being about to run it down a teams throat does not mean we run it down their throats... It just means it is a threat, the screen would be more of a threat making this offense way more dynamic. McCoy's last year with the bills had -50 total yards from tackles behind the line. Before that it was in the 30's. He more then made up for it on the plays he made moves to get extra yards. The debate we have now is.. Do we have that 1000 yard rusher? that is extremely debatable.
  3. the second you have to insult a person on these forums is the second you lost your case. good day!
  4. someone please explain to this guy why a McCoy at 26 years old would be so good on this team. he don't get it apparently that is a few peoples standards
  5. you act like he was the QB of the team.. HE wasn't he was a HB. This is a QB driven league but teams need decent HB's also. Teams with Elite QB's and HB's become very special to watch. You also act like its all on McCoy and McCoy was the reason that we did not make it to the SB. That's just nonsense. Maybe true, maybe not....it was a good deal fir Bills, but Shady is still Shady...EW runner, looks great but is only decent in a winning system. IMHO and you even said it right here.... McCoy was not in a winning system with a winning QB. Put McCoy and that kind of run threat on this team? yea... huge.
  6. that's the stupidest thing I ever heard in bolded. We did not take runs with what we had at RB... We did not take runs because of who was QB... Just stupid talk right here... Saying you cant win a SB with Allen + McCoy or Allen + Sanders is the dumbest thing anyone would agree to on these forums. We did not get to a SB not because who was at HB... but who was at QB.. PERIOD.\ In my post above I made it very clear that with a Josh Allen and McCoy we would no doubt make a SB run and your trying to say no? come on man...
  7. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/report-buffalo-bills-are-close-to-significant-trade/ar-AALDq6j?ocid=msedgdhp&pc=U531 I mean... are they all wrong?
  8. So I think one way Josh gets better this year, is that he will see the 5 yard passes go fir first downs more often this year because of our down field threat. Josh will learn to pick defenses off not just with 10+ yard throw so the best way I could do this is copy your list and work it that way. Diggs (127) 120 Beasley (82) 0 only cause i doubt he plays Sanders (61 w/ New Orleans) 80 with no Beasley one would think this number goes up not down Singletary (38) 30 Davis (35) 55 with Brown out players are going to get more touches Brown (33) OUT 0 McKenzie (30) 40 so this may shock people but this is our speed guy and likely our #4 WR unless a rookie shines. With his speed he will be found wide open Knox (24) 40 boo me if you want on this number but with no serious #2 TE I think this number goes up Moss (14) 10 Kroft (12) 0 Smith (4) 1 Roberts (4) 2 Gilliam (2) 0 Kumerow/Yeldon/Neal/Allen (1 each)
  9. you crack me up man Am I here to amuse you? you are a funny guy!
  10. Seriously... This almost bums me out a little cause I can only imagine how dynamic and super scary this offense would be with a 26 year old Shady on our team. Our offense would be so good we could do anything we wanted to, when we wanted or needed to. I was in my early 20's during the bills hay day... it also makes me think how good our offense was those years with a Thurman Thomas. Many will not agree but having a strong RB on the team would make this team so much better.. Having a strong RB is not about running more folks... Its about having that threat to be able to run and then on weather days have the ability to crap it down peoples throats... convincingly. In all seriousness hoping Josh brings it to another level is not my first/priority hope. My main hope is that one of these RB's we have now figures it out and we have the proper scheme to block for them... That's my #1 hope going into this year. We have a new sarcastic/troll post of the year folks.. right here.
  11. When we have to run.. I want to let it be known that we will destroy with what little we pass.. vice versa
  12. Hey you mods out there!!!! IF you guys merged every Ertz thread over the last 3 months would we break the record for the longest thread? just wondering lol
  13. your opinion is he would be better with what he did in college as edge. McD' opinion is that he should be an ILB. Coaches opinion that matters in this case he played the position he is being paid for.. All that being said.. I agree.. he would be a better OLB/EDGE
  14. ok but that's opinionated that he should play that position not more factual. but i see it and get it lol
  15. hey you know what they say... Aim high and hope we get one of the two lol.. Nelson and Ertz on this team would be crazy!
  16. I think to some that look ad Edmunds and thinks so highly of them then others think so much lower of him it feels like hate I don't think its hate.. just feels that way because some of us are very optimistic and others.. meh to your bolded.. how do you feel Edmunds has been played out of positing? cause he is a 4-3 MLB and we play mostly nickel? or is it something else?
  17. great reply to a great post. To your bolded above. I think we do not have to have a good running game but at the same time... I think we need to have that threat of one. Something we don't have.. Does not have to be a good/great run game... but if the threat does not exist then throwing as often as we do adds extra stress to the offensive line... to counter balance that, Josh being an amazing athlete has helped but should not be the end of all means... I think early next season we should show that if we decide to run it... we will.. and when we decide to pass it lots... we will
  18. Tiny bubbles... in my wine... makes me happy.... makes me fine... oh wait? maybe? possibly? no maybe not? I will get back to singing
  19. I think we need more creative plays like the flip pass to McKenzie. I think we need to roll with different ways with the screen.. things of that nature. Sad part is, if Daboll looks more genius this year, say good by to him the next.
  20. Thanks NewEra. I found it interesting what some thought player regression meant. some thinks/thought its stats based. But we are talking about the player as a whole. If stats go down but he becomes a better in other tangibles then that is not player regression... That is just stat regression. I think in stats alone, that is where opinions are split.
  21. I think what is not obvious to many is how much the defensive line play effects the play of the LBS. I don't think Edmunds regressed.. Read my comment earlier in this thread. Defensive lines should dictate where and how offensive lines block.. not the other way around. Our defensive line sucked last year.... the line had 0 gap control and offensive lines could pretty much do what they wanted with our line. you have to grasp onto 2 things. 1. our defensive line SUCKED and that 100% effects LB play. Now I am not saying you are clueless to this fact but many are 2. The guy was injured and played injured so much of that year last year. I think Edmunds is top 7-10 MLB in this league with so much potential to be better. If you think that makes Edmunds "just ok" then I don't know what to say. This short article says it all https://www.wgrz.com/article/sports/nfl/bills/leslie-frazier-says-tremaine-edmunds-story-isnt-written-yet-on-his-career/71-fdd1644e-f726-4eb0-a2af-6072ede7c720 If Frazier is confident that the story is not written on his career then that brings me confidents. There are so many things that was screwy about last year that put way to much pressure on ILB last year... Playing nickel defense so often, Horrid line play and his injuries all had a hand These are not excuses my friend... these are facts.
  22. Offensive lines were dictating who to double team last year. who when where. Typically a defensive line if better then average dictates the gaps for the LB's to hit. Because our D'Line was really bad last year, it Makes the LBS look worse. When a line can move the A and B gap to there liking it makes the LBS hit a gap that simply is not there. This explains why Edmunds was hitting the line in the wrong places or looked "out of position" Also Our defense had to be creative last year because our front 4 did not reach home as much as one would hope. This puts even more pressure on Milano and Edmunds. I get it in coverage.. Edmunds looked lost at times.. He bit on the inside stuff to much at times or bit on the pump fakes.. The kid is young yet he has had some years in the NFL to learn. This is not making excuses for Edmunds nor should have any excuses this year as defensive play should improve.. In short... the book is not 100% written on Edmunds yet... but I sure am enjoying reading it.
