I'm doing the Disney/Chargers thing also. I'll do the Disney thing with the family, and then the wife and non-football fan son will fly home, and I'll go to the game with my other son and his GF, and another buddy of his who lives there. There's three or four Bills Backers bars in the area I believe.
There was a paint store next door to Anacone's and I worked for them painting houses one summer. After work we'd meet up at the paint store and go next door and grab a beef on weck and a few Molson's.
They had big band music on the jukebox, the place was great.
I like that when Ralph passed, they changed the color of his name to gold. Maybe they can change Kalsu's name to Red White and Blue. And as for OJ, maybe they can change his name to prison-suit-orange colors.
Have a great time. My son went to the WFT game this year with a bunch of his California buddies (he's in SF) they had a blast. Where in NorCal are you?
As was I.
I was in the upper deck in the last row. You could turn around and see all the people leaving the stadium, and when Rashad scored, all the people who left were looking back thinking "what?"
Great game.
Fred grew up in New England, and went to Boston College. So it's normal for him to be pro-Patriots, but as for his being a Bill, he loved it. He used to wear a Bills t-shirt underneath his 49er/Patriot uniforms when he played there.
Great to see a bunch of folks have been to the Rockpile.
1969 Bills vs Bengals. Blizzard conditions, you could hardly see the field. Booker Edgerson forced a fumble and returned it for deciding score.
without google, I believe it would be Denver. The AFL expanded from the original teams that included Cincinnati and Miami. So if you include the expansion AFL, there would be 4. Buffalo, Denver, Miami, and Cinci.
New York Titans
There was a paint store next door to Anacone's and I worked for them painting houses in the summers. We'd meet back at the store, and go next door to a couple of wecks, and some Molson on tap. The only place I knew of that played big band music on the jukebox.
Good times.
I was at the 1980 Home opener when the Bills beat the Dolphins for the first time since 1969, a streak of twenty games, and an entire decade. The goalposts came down that day, the Bills were only 1-0, but it was glorious.
