One idea is you go to 2 preseason games, one home and one on the road. Then you go to a 18 game regular season schedule. Add 4 teams to the playoffs and eliminate the bye. So now you have 8 teams from both sides in the playoffs. This model would increase revenue as your now playing 2 additional post season games and removing two crappy preseason games to regular season. Playoffs become more exciting. To help with injury I would also add another bye week, so each team now has two bye weeks. You can stagger them like they do now or two make it even you have one bye in week 6, one bye in week 12.

If a trade were to happen Yates would not jump Peterman on the depth Chart. We would be getting a first hand look at the rookie.

Honestly I think it would be like playing the pats twice a season. 0-2, Rodgers would own the Bills.

I'd trade him just to free up the cap space. Shady is an unreal talent but honestly no way would I spend that kind of money on the RB position. I'd rather see the money spent on the oline.

I get your approach but some QB's are just different and do not need to wait that long to start their development. Dak last season comes to mind. Peterman seemed to see the field very well yesterday and he looked like he knew where the ball was going before the play started. Their was a play in the third quarter I think the Bills were around the Eagles thirty. At the start of the play Peterman was looking down the middle of the field and he held the safety, he then looked right and the ball was gone taking the safety out of the play, He overthrows the WR in the end zone ( I think it was holmes) but he looked like a vet out there.

Peterman will not start week one, however he was clearly the better QB yesterday.

TT in the first drive that's all. Put Peterman in right away and live him in till the 4th quarter. You know who Yates is already. Lets find out about his kid and start giving him snaps to develop.

Wow talking about grasping at straws. Beane gets a tentative deal in place, then after the game he sits down with the HC and Owner and the trade happens. So basically the trade only happened after he discussed it with the HC and owner. Seems like a pretty good way of doing business.

I'll say we have an improved defense from last season.

I do love me some Irish Whiskey, But seriously I can see everything I stated happing. Odds are Sammy does not play the full season so by availability Mathews should out produce him. Woods could struggle with that QB (along with Sammy) Williams looks like he is going to have a solid season and will see a ton of red zone touches. Our D will be better coached and play the scheme that fits what they do best. So they should improve.

I'd argue the complete opposite that Beane is giving us a chance to compete both long term and short term. Mathews will end the season with more yards and td's then Sammy Boldin will end the season with more yards then Woods Williams will end the season with more yards and td's then Gillislee Our D will be improved over last years D Our 2018 draft will set this team up for the long haul.

I think people say that because players tend to have break out seasons when they are in a contract year. This is why I like the trade. If Sammy has a huge season you either have to pay him top dollar or franchise him and he forces your hand. Considering he has had injury problems do you want that financial risk? We ended up getting value for a guy we didn't want to pay even if he had a great season. Now if he gets hurt again Beane looks like the smartest guy in the room. Really a win win.

That's why Jimmy G is going to hit the open market. Unless BB trades Brady after the season Jimmy is as good as gone. Franchise tag would cost NE around $22 million on Jimmy, Brady carries around a $15 million hit. That's $37 million on 2 qb's and neither one would be locked up long term as Bradys contract runs out in 2019. to my original point I think the Bills are loading up on picks to add to - Cousins, Garappolo, or Tyrod if he pans out.

assuming TT is not the guy after this year. Go after Cousins, if you cant get him go for Garappoo. If that does not work you use your war chest of picks and roll the dice on a rookie. Cousins is going to be the next Drew Brees. If you added him to this roster along with the picks this team gets very interesting very quickly.

So after 2 preseason games Petterman goes from number 3 to number 1 and we trade tT?

If we can stay healthy I like your point. I'm thinking our D improves dramatically from last year. Our special teams/kicking game gets better. I also think our WR group is now better with Mathews, Boldin, and Jones. I'm also thinking our Running game will be improved. I'm actually thinking Williams is going to end up being an upgrade over TD mike Gillislee. Fb's look solid and our coaching has to be better. If this team can win 8-9 games and is loaded for the 2018 draft look out!
