Another obvious case of white privilege. Why would a conservative want to live in Austin after this?… This decision is going to become a lightning rod - especially if Abbott steps in as he is being called to do by a lot of people on social media right now. Expect the fight against Progressive DA’s to explode as we head into the next few years. They are making far too many controversial and politically driven decisions. Some go free for obvious heinous crimes, while others get targeted.

THE Twitter Files - lololololololololol
SCBills replied to BillStime's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Why is it Democrats and MSNBC Liberals have such an issue with any liberal journalist that doesn’t follow their status quo? It’s nonstop now… Matt Taibbi Bari Weiss Michael Schellenberger Aaron Mate Jimmy Dore Glenn Greenwald Do you ever stop to wonder why you’re now the party of ex-Intel officials and the Bush Administration? How did that flip occur? Some true progressives actually have the guts to call it out. -

Pretty sure I just explained why. Also, the only ones parroting Mehdi Hasan and his weak hit job on Taibbi over some minor details, are the typical MSNBC types that lied to us about Hunter’s laptop, Covid, Russian bounties and the Steele Dossier… so I’m not very apt to believe anything they say. And, again, Hasan didn’t address any of the claims of substance … he hit Taibbi on a date, and was later proved wrong on the acronym (Taibbi was right or at least partially correct). -

This has been discussed in other threads and Hasan has been called out by actual progressives like Aaron Mate and Jimmy Dore, re: Matt Taibbi. His producers found one wrong date and nitpicked on an acronym that may or may not be correct. Notice he has nothing when it comes to actual points of substance in the Twitter files. He attempted a gotcha moment over minor details, which Taibbi acknowledged and now Mehdi Hasan and his lackeys are using it to run cover for the state. Of course you would be falling for this …. Of course… -

Why do you think there is such a war on school boards right now? For so long, conservatives & right leaning independents paid no mind to things like school boards (and, fwiw, local judges), however Dems/Progressives smartly realized that the easiest way to gain influence is through local judges and school systems. Covid opened up the eyes of many, but were now seeing decades of progressive influence at the local level. As for your second point, I’d agree .. Millennials are struggling, but scraping by.. Gen Z may be the first generation in a long time that truly feels left behind. -

I’d agree with that. Also the marriage rate mixed with childless women in their 30’s definitely plays a big part in the Millennial political landscape. The voting difference between married women (lean R) and single women (landslide D) is staggering. -
Two Bills Drive being correct on the Draft: Who did we get right?

Creed Humphrey over Boogie Basham and the board clamoring for DK Metcalf definitely come to mind for me. Far too early to say Breece Hall over Kaiir Elam is a valid stance. -
Good perspective on how good we were last year

People keep saying it takes luck, but the Chiefs are literally always there in the end. Before them, it was the Patriots. I do agree, to an extent. Give us a healthy Von Miller/Micah Hyde and the Chiefs losing Chris Jones for the year and who knows how things play out. …. But at some point, luck/injuries can’t be the excuse when we just finished a dominant run by the Pats, only to usher in a new one by the Chiefs. -

People say this about every young generation, and as they get older, we see the same political dynamics we’ve always had. I will say though, that there are two things R’s need to immediately understand and address: 1) Democrats are mobilizing Gen Z far better than any young Generation we’ve seen. Typically they’re loud but don’t vote - not so anymore. Much of that due to the advancement of tech, and the ability of D’s to understand that and pair it with culture. Also, years of Dems targeting institutions is paying off. We didn’t just rapidly get to a point where young people were radicalized anti-gun, climate justice, trans right activists … it was gradual influencing through the school system. 2) The reason people become more conservative as they get older typically has to do with them getting married, having kids and career advancement. -Marriage rates, down. -People having children, down. -Post Covid, Its a very different economy. Gen Z is on pace to make the least amount of money of any generation, therefore they are more apt to believe in govt dependency. -
Jeffrey Simmons extended with Titans - 4 years, $94 Million
SCBills replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
If we had Jeffrey Simmons, you find a way. KC broke the mold by trading away an elite WR in his prime, but they also have Kelce. Who knows how things play out if Ed lived up to the hype… Do we spend so much draft capital at EDGE? Do we sign Von? -

DeSantis For President in 2024?
SCBills replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
It’s also interesting to see which states are being affected, politically, by these migration patterns. Georgia, Arizona, Florida and Ohio, to me, seem to be the most interesting. Georgia, a reliably red state, is now purple. Same with Arizona. Ohio, a reliable swing state, is now solidly red. Florida is now ruby red. Even with that… the bigger point the change from two red states to purple. Republicans now having to devote so many resources in Georgia and Arizona is not ideal, given they need to find a way to snag one of PA, WI or MI from time to time. It’s why MAGA is so obviously short sighted when they cheer Trump taking shots at the the WI R SC nominee that lost as he was outspent 4 to 1… as if that won’t play a part in the ‘24 Presidential election. DeSantis knows how to win. Knows how to play the game. In essence, he likely wins GA and AZ and understands what it takes in the Rust Belt/Upper Midwest states. Trump is out here taking meetings with Mike Lindell about the integrity of not ballot harvesting. Nevermind the fact he’s not liked in Georgia or Arizona. DeSantis can have Kemp deliver GA … Trump has a blood feud with one of the most popular Governors in a state he needs. -
All I can say is that the defense better be on lock during the playoffs if they trade up for a friggin LB. The reason many of us make the jump to offense is that none of these linebackers are projected to be gone by the time we draft, and most mocks don’t even have a LB going in RD1.

I was born in Syracuse, grew up on Long Island .. am in my mid 30’s and have been down south for about 8 years now. I’m back and forth between Atlanta and South Carolina. It’s a slower pace, people are generally nicer, but yes.. the “southern hospitality” shtick is definitely encompassing some passive aggressiveness… ie bless your heart.. Much better weather, and less expensive than up north .. although metro Atlanta and places like Greenville and Charleston are not, at all, inexpensive. Tons of Bills fans in those areas. Not really sure how you quantify intellectual value. Plenty of ignorant, dumb people, on both sides of the aisle, in NY and down south. In fact, Long Island is far more racist and segregated than what I’ve witnessed down South (granted, I’m typically in/around cities) but I also never spent time in rural areas of NY either. Rarely, did I ever, see an interracial couple on Long Island … you see it quite often down here. -

Because New Yorkers keep leaving the state in droves for the South. Not even being snarky … that’s literally the answer. -
Good perspective on how good we were last year

I don’t think you know what the phrase “moving the goal posts” means. We’re all giving our opinions… therefore, the “TO ME” part should be implied. If we finish 13-4 this year, with the 3 seed, is that another great season? -
Good perspective on how good we were last year
SCBills replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
Your point about KC being the key. To me, a great regular season means getting the 1 seed. We have yet to do that. The 1 seed is the AFC is massive. Not just a big deal … massive. The one recent year KC didn’t get the 1, they were the 2, with the weakest 1 seed ever in Tennessee inevitably bowing out to give KC the de facto 1 in regards to home field. -
This. We have a lot of good players and already, where we stand, pretty good depth. We need elite players. If we are in position to get one, get one. We have OL depth, DL depth, Secondary depth, LB depth, RB depth, WR depth etc etc … What we don’t have is a stud cornerstone Offensive Lineman, stud RB, top tier WR2. In a deep Top tier Tackle class, with a RB like Bijan and (even in a weak class) some potential high level WR’s… the opportunity to address one of those spots seems - to me - more important than drafting another “good” player or keeping a Day 2 and/or mid-rounder to throw another guy into the depth & develop competition.

No one is saying we sucked. That is a strawman argument. We were good. We’ve had good regular seasons. A great regular season, imo, is when we finally get the 1 seed. -

SCBills replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
Ah yes, Bills fans are clearly so entitled. What, with all our Super Bowl victories and the drought that was present for most of our lives. We had good regular seasons. Not great. Get the 1 seed, like KC manages to do.. thus giving them the easiest path to the Super Bowl, and I’ll agree we had a great regular season. -
Completely agree. With the rumors of us being open to a trade up, I have to think someone like Jack Campbell “may” be out of the picture in RD1. Being open to a trade up tells me the Bills want an impact player for Josh … which leads me to OL, WR or Bijan Robinson.

Except, we’re not … All this talk about our regular season success, how good our defense is in the regular season… How many 1 seeds? How do we think the playoffs go if our path is BYE .. Jax at home .. KC at home, with Hyde back..? It matters.
