  1. Thanks for everything Cole! Instrumental in Josh's development and helping us build this team.
  2. I highly doubt we're moving up early. We need to keep the cupboard stocked with cheap draft talent moving forward. I do think we may use those 4 late picks (2-6, 2-7) to move around in the middle rounds.
  3. Replace Travis Jones with a WR, and that draft is filthy... Kaiir Elam, WR, Isaiah Likely and Myaji Sanders works for me.
  4. Von Miller and Chandler Jones were the only two elite pass rushers on the FA market. Both are the same age. Both got, basically, guaranteed 3 year contracts. The next level were guys like Zadarius Smith, Uchenna Nwosu etc.. a step down for Miller & Jones. Then there's the trade market. We saw what 31 yr old Khalil Mack went for. Danielle Hunter is reportedly being shopped, but I have to believe the asking price starts at a 1st RD pick minimum... only 27, but with a rough injury history the past two years.
  5. Above the vet minumum, which is what I would pay for him on this team. I just don't like the fit. Diggs is the vet in his prime, about to get an extension most likely. Davis is set to, hopefully, ascend - and has two years left on his rookie deal. That WR3, IMO, should be a high rookie draft pick that can play inside/outside with speed and allows us to smartly layer our WR contracts.
  6. I think we, and Von, likely know this is a 3 year deal....but no reason to not think he won't play at a high level for these 3 years. Especially with McDermott's philosophy of using a heavy DL rotation. If I'm Buffalo, I use him as sparingly as possible against meh teams, and then unleash him in big games and the playoffs.
  7. Beasley and Hughes are two guys that I really wish could take the ride with us, but are still good players who can command a legitimate deal on the open market. Unfortunately, for the sentimental side of me, they are not guys that the Bills should be remotely interested in at the price point they can get elsewhere. While Hughes would be useful, given the fact I believe Von will be on a snap count per se (until the Playoffs), Beasley just doesn't make any sense to me.. We need more speed out of the slot and for cap purposes, layering contracts in a way so Diggs, Davis and a high draft pick are spaced out.
  8. Also the Rams don't have remotely the same draft pick situation that we have. The Bills can backfill cheap talent through the draft... the Rams aren't exactly in the same situation.
  9. But that's where the answer lies somewhere in the middle. The Rams were clearly full court press trying to keep Von Miller. If the cap wasn't real, they'd just match our offer. I know Pegula's are loaded and are fine with guaranteeing money, but so is the owner of the Rams.
  10. We all see this question. Is it, is it not? The answer lies somewhere in the middle. It’s real. Also, it’s not. How could it be real is a team with Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs and Tre White can afford Von Miller at 6yr/120M!? Well, in part because, as we all know now, the devil is on the details. It’s essentially a 3yr/53M deal. Years 4,5,6 “may” have some dead cap to deal with, but it sounds structured so that those dead cap hits are minimal, especially with the cap rising. Keep in mind, teams typically keep 14M in dead cap year to year. However, the cap is also real. By all reports, the Rams came close on the money, but couldn’t get to where the Bills came in. They tried as hard as they could to keep him. McVay reportedly on the phone with Miller 3x yesterday. Why couldn’t they get there on the money?.. Stafford, Donald, Kupp, Ramsey… At some point you just can’t make it work and will lose someone. That may very well happen to us if say, Tremaine Edmunds balls out on an elite defense next year. He may look like a generational talent out there behind this DL (wishful thinking). But if he does, do we keep him? Can we? And if we do, do we lose Oliver and/or Knox? The cap can be manipulated, but at some point it’s real… and it may become real for us next off-season if we want to re-sign all 3, but can’t. Or maybe Beane works more magic. Either way. LETS GO!!! We’re not in cap hell by making this Miller move. Beane has handled the cap beautifully, and allowed himself the room to take a shot like this.
  11. Also, in 3 years, Josh Allen will still be in his prime. Anyone who thinks Beane would do anything to jeopardize Josh Allen’s career here is out of their mind. There may be some dead cap money in Years 4, 5 & 6 of the Miller deal where we’re paying for a guy no longer here, but from all the reporting, it doesn’t seem to be unmanageable. Especially with the cap going up. What this does mean is no more Cody Ford’s and no more hefty contracts for guys like Star, Klein, Butler, Addison and Hughes. Judging by the signings of Settle & Jones, we seem to be moving in the right direction. These next few drafts will be very important to find impact guys ready to take over in a few years.
  12. First off, ridiculous post. Second off… “Then it’s 2025 and we’re cutting talent to get under the cap..”. It’s essentially a 3yr/53M deal. In 2025, we can move off Von Miller.
  13. On its face, the 3 year guaranteed commitment to Von likely puts us in a “screw one, marry one, kill one” situation with Knox, Oliver and Edmunds next off-season.
  14. It seems everyone in the know is calling it “essentially” a 3yr/$53M deal. That leads me to believe the last 3 years aren’t much of anything to worry about
  15. Yup, a move that he can make when he’s not overpaying a bunch of DL vets and has 3 rookie contract pass rushers.
  16. This must have been posted already, but this is all of us…
  17. Opposing fanbase reactions in summary: Von Miller signed with the Buffalo Bills 😳 6 years / 120M 🤡 Essentially 3 years / 53M 🤬
  18. I know now everyone is a cap expert. Im not either, but WE ARE NOT PAYING HIM 120M. Von Miller is not on this team at age 38. This is a 3 year deal base with us likely eating some dead cap in the following 3 years. Keep in mind, teams typically carry some dead cap year to year. We just already know we will have some in ‘25, ‘26 & ‘27. Hence the front loaded guaranteed $$ so the pain down the line, with an exploding salary cap, isn’t something we can’t manage.
  19. Wouldn’t be surprised if Allen is #1 on the NFL Top 100 list. Players knew before everyone else did when he broke into that list after his second year.
  20. With how good our defense already is against the non-elite teams, I’m not even joking when I say give Von load management. Bring him in on passing downs against meh teams, rest him if we get up big and then unleash him in the big games. Make sure he’s locked and loaded for the 3 years we’re realistically having him here for.
  21. It doesn’t even need to be that… Bills chose their playmaker. Tremaine Edmunds at a 13M cap hit this year. Cut Beasley + that 13M and there’s your Chandler Jones.
  22. What teams carry two viable cap hit 1T DT’s.. let alone cap strapped ones with elite QB contracts. What happened to Tampa without Vita Vea during their SB year.. They didn’t stop the run at an elite level until he came back. … because who can afford two legit 1T’s?
  23. Hunter costs a lot because he’s elite. We can’t just ask teams to trade us expensive players on a discount because they cost a lot. If I had to guess, a 1st might be enough for them to think about it.
  24. They have Ankou as well. I just don’t see them keeping two 1’s active on Gameday.
  25. We can beat this horse to death but clearly the FO feels differently. Otherwise we wouldn’t have 13M tied up in a MLB, preventing us from dropping 17M per on Chandler Jones.
