  1. Shakir’s hype is due to the belief that we got a “steal” in the draft. Deep WR draft and a guy who projected as a RD3 pick, dropped to RD5. It was lauded universally as a home run of a pick. Analysts saying they can’t believe the league let Shakir drop to Josh Allen. Reality is he’s … ok. He’s an intriguing player, but is his upside really that high? WR3 caliber player most likely… maybeeee WR2 is he truly hits his stride. He’s also undersized, small arms and is inconsistent with drops. He shouldn’t be a roster lock imo.. but we also can’t be flippant about quality players on cheap multi-year contracts.
  2. NOPE. Thats on the players and S&C though. Not sure why that reflects on Dorsey. Sure staff should have them ready, but that seems more cerebral than on one man.
  3. Is it really fair to go at a coordinator for a preseason game? I highly doubt he’s putting in heavy level work for a game that doesn’t matter. These are used to get players warmed up and have them exposed to different situations.
  4. I’d sign Robert L Peters at this point.
  5. Can’t imagine what he’s going through mentally. Just awful.
  6. Agreed, but I do think the DL has way too much talent for them to struggle without Von. I understand tonight and all, but I’m not worried about them yet. OL is incredibly frustrating if Dawkins and Brown are liabilities. It’s like whack a mole in protecting our biggest asset… We may have finally fixed the IOL and now the Tackles are trash.
  7. Im concerned by the team looking like last years Bengals bs.. but I’m also not going to overreact and think we see anything resembling this Week 1 against the Jets.
  8. Clearly it’s not every game… but I’ve never seen a playoff no show like I witnessed last year from a top tier team and can you see the Chiefs or Bengals going out there and doing this in preseason? Would rather not see a pattern emerge. One regular season no show game per year is enough.
  9. I know it’s preseason, but teams don’t look this unprepared/careless… especially not Super Bowl caliber teams. Coming off the heels of the Bengals no-show.. this is legitimately concerning re: coaching staff and how we prepare mentally and physically for games.
  10. Not watching but following along a bit … So… a preseason version of the Bengals playoff game is the vibe I’m getting?
  11. Will Anderson just wrecked two people on one play
  12. It’s basically the Tucker Carlson wing of the party. -Nationalist -Distrust of Institutions -Freedom of Speech -Anti-War Given the fact Democrats have essentially become the party of consolidated power and elites, it’s no wonder there’s now a ton of crossover between former Bernie Bros and Tucker Carlson’s following. The populist right and populist left have plenty of common ideals that don’t align with establishment Democrats or establishment Republicans… specifically relating to war, speech and govt control.
  13. Sure, I will… Random iron worker struggles to get by as Biden shovels money over to Ukraine, while barely lifting a finger for Hawaii or East Palestine. Random iron worker sees his taxes eat away at his paycheck, for what?… govt bailouts, welfare abuse, foreign wars? Random iron worker has had the cost of living skyrocket under this presidency. Under Democrat rule, where they paid no mind to the ramifications of spending, while at the same time handicapping ourselves on the global stage by cutting back energy production. Random iron worker sees a government that cares more about illegal immigration they do the plight homeless veterans, let alone his own struggles. It’s no wonder random iron worker tilted the scales in the Rust Belt to elect Donald Trump in 2016 … a man, for all his many faults, at least spoke to them, not at them.
  14. “Rich Men North of Richmond” doesn’t exclusively apply to Democrats. The populist wing of the Republican Party… which it seems like this guy probably would be classified as.. takes issue with a ton of Republicans as well. Also.. Conflating PPP loans with student loans is extremely disingenuous. Was it abused, yes.. as any govt program will be.. however honest small biz owners were shut down by no fault of their own and in order to receive PPP funding, you had to retain every employee you received money for in order to obtain full PPP forgiveness. That money, for honest folks, went to overhead and employees.
  15. It seems to me that one of Shorter or Shavers would make it to the PS, if not both, should we choose to cut him. They seem quite similar, imo. Big bodied receivers with some speed. Shorter bigger, Shavers faster. Both were big time recruits that never really planned out in college. Id love to develop both given Gabe’s contract status and us not exactly having a ton of money next year.. but Isabella is certainly intriguing.. especially if Diggs, Davis and Kincaid are clearing out underneath routes.
  16. Believe it or not… many blue collar democrats have an issue with welfare abuse. Do you think random iron worker in Pennsylvania that works long, grueling hours and comes home to a house he can barely afford is cool with people pretending to look for jobs, getting hired, getting fired etc., to game the system and use food stamps as a means of sustinence - as opposed to a helping hand to get back on their feet? Because it seems like that line is the one that’s got y’all worked up. “Obese milking welfare… taxes ought not pay for your bag of fudge rounds”. He’s right. Everything else about govt control, high taxes etc., is felt by everyone… except, apparently, modern day leftists that implicitly trust the govt.
  17. This is the best attack on Trump/MAGA I’ve heard in a long time. Straightforward, while avoiding coming off as antagonistic.
  18. Richardson was definitely not drafted for his college production.
  19. I don’t think anyone is really expecting Shorter to show a ton this year. He’s an incredibly raw prospect with size and speed. My only worry with cutting Shakir or Shorter is that we would only have Diggs, Harty and one of those two under contract for next year at WR. We’d be looking at half of our WR room and 70% of our DL rotation not under contract past this season. Ultimately I trust Beane to figure it out, but I’m not sure we want to create more holes than necessary, knowing that next year we have a lot of one year deal guys and expiring contracts coming up … all the while entering the season over the cap.
  20. I regret to inform you that the Yankee Candles have lost their scent again..
  21. Yea.. it would simply be due to us valuing Isabella over him, as Isabella doesn’t cost much.
  22. I don’t put a ton of stock into Alex Jones reporting that a high ranking TSA whistleblower told him masks/protocols are coming back this Fall, but he’s been right about quite a bit, and…. (Still can’t imagine this happens again though..)
  23. I don’t disagree, but we’re up against the cap and likely drafting late in the early rounds. Entering next season needing two new starting tackles, on top of the other cap issues/free agents, is NOT ideal.
  24. Honestly, why not just cut Matakevich if we want to keep Isabella? Would we have brought him back if we knew of the rule change at the time? Id like to keep Shakir and Shorter given the contract uncertainty of Gabe Davis. Im not sold on either of them, but cheap contracts are going to be big moving forward … it’s the same reason I’d probably keep Boogie over AJE or Lawson.
