  1. I feel like we were all thinking to be in on Chandler Jones and then he goes to the Raiders and out of nowhere it's announced that evening that Von is signing with the Bills.
  2. Bills have just under 10M in cap space right now, pending Edwards contract.. which I'm guessing is another low ball contract for a talented guy to rebuild his value with Kromer. Depending on how much AZ is willing to eat, along with a potential restructure.. sure... may need to extend Jones & Hyde to squeeze another couple million this year. I'm hoping they don't touch Dawkins or Tre White's contract tbh... but those levers are also available. Or... trade Oliver and we can easily make moves.
  3. Chiefs have half the cap space we have, after restructuring Mahomes. Not sure what other levers they have... although I'm sure they have some.
  4. Love it. Talented player with a rough recent injury/concussion history, but had his best years under Kromer. Talented enough to push Bates for his spot and provides us excellent IOL depth with Boettger.
  5. We'll see if they get back.. they loaded up and had to let a ton of good players walk. You're correct that they have draft capital. There's really no great comparison to the Rams given they went all in on both... sacrificed future seasons with leveraged cap spending AND traded away their premium picks. I can't imagine any GM will do that, because if you come up short and then have to deal with 2-3 seasons of a bad team rebuilding.. they're likely not surviving that.
  6. Philly went a similar route and didn't win it. Lucky for them, they play in the JV league and their QB isn't falling apart... but they are bleeding talent this off-season.
  7. I think I agree with this. I remember watching some of Dion Dawkins interviews, and everything he said was perfectly fine given the situation, but thinking deep down that the season was over. You could tell that the focus and mentality needed to win when it matters wasn't remotely anywhere near where it needed to be going into the playoffs.
  8. We just have completely different opinions of Oliver it seems. He's not a difference maker, imo, and I'd rather bolster the OL than hope he finds himself in a contract year if everything around him goes perfectly. I'd rather sign a proven EDGE pass rusher like Frank Clark and then draft a big body DT on Day 2. I'd rather give OBJ 10M. I'd rather send a pick out while moving Oliver to gain 5M in cap space in a Jeudy trade. Any of those options, and more, are more appealing than Ed Oliver at 10M.
  9. They're getting Rodgers. That team is LEGIT.. for a year or two. Then they enter a strange world where they have a ton of players coming due, QB uncertainty and a ton of dead cap from the Rodgers void years.
  10. Plenty of areas the Bills could use Oliver's 10M. For one, there are still guys like Risner and Clark who I would love on this team. Two, schematically, if the plan truly is to roll with Bernard vs Dodson at MLB, we likely need bigger bodies at DT. Undersized DT Oliver, with an undersized MLB in Bernard, on team that plays base Nickel is begging to get run on.
  11. I think Buffalo will, at some point, extend Jones and Hyde another year.. and that gives us this coming year and the following year with the core of Diggs, Von, Hyde, Poyer, White, Jones, Dawkins and maybe Morse. Then, yea, it looks like a whole lot of turnover after the '24 season. When looking at it this way, it makes all the sense in the world to find a way to get Hopkins here, especially if they will eat some of his salary this year, and then him having an affordable cap hit the following year under 15M.
  12. Talbot says there’s mutual interest with Poona Ford. It’s just about money as it stands. He could slot right into Oliver’s spot if he’s traded. Settle rotates in. Then we could draft a 1 tech on Day 2 to rotate in with Jones. Any way you slice it … imo, I’m moving him… if for nothing else, id rather take Oliver’s 10M and give it to someone like Frank Clark.
  13. Hopkins would be a trade, not a signing, and yes… we all heard him … we also heard him last year … we also heard him acknowledge that we are still monitoring the OBJ situation. Literally every Bills reporter is entertaining the possibility of the Bills trading for Hopkins, but I’m sure you know better.
  14. I feel like I’m being gaslit when told to not read into any of that…
  15. Even if one is to believe everyone is blowing everything out of proportion and the smoke is just a product of some trolling and the media machine … im still going with an above zero percent chance when Deandre Hopkins most recent follow on IG is Josh Allen and Josh Allen’s most recent is Damien Harris and…Deandre Hopkins.
  16. Because he’s potential. You’re obviously not trading for a 10M cap hit for his production to date. Plenty of scouts/GM’s probably think he could click in “their” system or with “their” coaching.
  17. Lots of scouts were high on Oliver that year. If they can afford it and all they need to do is throw us a 4th round pick, why not get him in the building for a year and see how he fits? He’s got talent, albeit inconsistent. Bears fans were begging Poles to trade for him when Oliver’s IG posts made their way around Twitter earlier today.
  18. I mean, cmon …. Hopkins with Buffalo Soldier in his story?… Today has been wild on IG
  19. 10M you say… Ok, that’s cool and all, but have they realized we have Ed Oliver? How are they going to get the ball to them when Oliver is 10 feet away from Mahomes getting swallowed up by Creed Humphrey or Trey Smith?
  20. Makes sense if AZ is eating some cap. We end up +10M in cap on that trade if done straight up. Also, I think the allure of Hopkins is that Gabe can still be structured long term.
  21. Feels like we’d have to move Oliver to be in on this. Not only to offset some of the cap hit, but also because we only have six picks this year and Oliver can likely get us an early Day 3.
  22. I won’t argue with you about our defense. Frazier and the personnel we had were likely never going to slow them down unless the Bengals went on one of their random quarter long swoons. Our Offense that day though … disaster. In the game you referenced, they looked crisp af on our one drive before Allen and Beasley were inches off from a short walk in TD.
  23. We aren’t even remotely close to the Rams situation. Which is even a bigger reason why they should go for it if a trade for Hopkins is available for, say, a 3rd and the eventual trade of Ed Oliver. We could likely get them to eat some cap if we’re willing to go Day 2 pick to wash the salary with Oliver. We didn’t trade for a QB. We didn’t trade for an EDGE. We didn’t trade for a CB1. We didn’t trade away years worth of premium picks. We are not the same. Just move Oliver and we’re fine… no need for Jets maneuvering like multiple void years at 20M+ cap hits for a QB.
  24. They probably were in that moment .. but that doesn’t change the fact that we played the most lifeless game ever seen from this iteration of the Bills.
  25. Ed Oliver is literally trending nationally on Twitter Currently #19 in United States trends 3 cryptic IG stories.. Amazing
