  1. They have THE tight end... maybe the best to ever do it. They also have one of the best OL's in the NFL. I'm sure they'll figure something out at WR. As is, we can downplay all we want, but it's MVS, a RD1 pick on a rookie contract and a second year RD2 pick. Outside of Diggs, we gave Allen a RD4 pick, RD5 pick and some JAG's last year.
  2. Twitter threads from Bears people are hilarious right now... All of them speculating Oliver might be getting traded there due to his posts. Bears fans all getting hype wanting this trade to happen. Bills fans jumping in the comments like take him, please. Bears fans like wait, what?
  3. Not gonna lie .. I'm kind of feeling this Bears Twitter Easter Egg breakdown of Oliver's IG posts. Three pictures/videos.. the opponents.. Lions, Packers, Vikings. Fwiw, they all really want their team to trade for Oliver.
  4. Why is that more important than Josh's potential WR2 or OL upgrade?
  5. That's exactly why we want to trade him. It's not to carry over the cap or because we really want a Day 3 pick. Even if we simply use his 10M to sign a different DT and Wagner so we can use our early round picks on Offense.. to me, that's a better use of cap space than 10M for Oliver.
  6. Daniel Jeremiah randomly speculating about the Hopkins/Bills fit. Ed Oliver going all sad boy on Instagram. I want to believe...
  7. What's "meaningful"? I am clearly not a big Ed Oliver fan, but tweets like this are also annoying. We can move Oliver. Look at what some of these DT's are getting paid.. He's a young player, and he is talented - despite the very valid criticisms. I am sure quite a few GM's were high on out of college. It's a one year commitment and you get him in-house, with the ability to see how he fits on your Defense.
  8. Yea.. he's getting traded. Multiple emo IG posts. Too much smoke now.
  9. Daniel Jeremiah is somewhat plugged in. Yea, it's clickbaity, but guys like him don't just pull stuff out of thin air.
  10. I'm guessing those predictions are based on Dawkins - McGovern - Morse - Bates - Brown? On the bright side, it goes to show that we're a hit at RT away from a good pass pro OL. Downside, everything said by the FO would lead us to expect Brown to be the starter next year.
  11. Fwiw, a trade for Hopkins, or a signing of OBJ, would still align with Beane's outward profession of love for Gabe Davis. Neither signing would preclude Buffalo from signing Gabe long term if they can come to an agreement at some point. Hopkins or OBJ would likely be worked out to be a 2-3 year contract, and Gabe's cap hits could be structured accordingly. That's why Hopkins, OBJ or a draft pick would seem to align more with Beane's comments re: Gabe. A trade for Jeudy would be the one move that likely signals that the Bills inwardly have moved off of him as a long term piece.
  12. The way Beane seems to operate - if we get linked to a guy like this - I'm to the point where I think to myself.. welp, that won't happen now.
  13. Bernard could work in our Defense, but I'm not sure how it works when we are in base nickel AND have Ed Oliver as a starting DT. Move Oliver and have a rotation of big dudes in the middle and it makes much more sense.
  14. Definitely true.. but you then see teams like the Jets, potentially taking on 20M dead cap hits on void years for Rodgers and you realize that teams certainly factor in the cap going up, some much more than the Bills.
  15. One of the more perplexing positional units on this team. No one under contract past this year. Still one player short for our rotation, unless the plan is to roll with a PS guy as DT4. -The obvious extension candidate, and only consistently good DT.. Daquan Jones.. not extended yet. -10M cap hit for an undersized, inconsistent, yet talented DT on his 5th year option. -One year left for a guy who took a pay cut to stay and played out of position much of last year in Tim Settle. Not gonna lie... I hate so much about how they've gone about this unit thus far. Daquan Jones is very good. I have no idea if Tim Settle is effective because the Bills constantly find themselves playing DT's out of position (Settle now, Jefferson a few years ago). I want nothing to do with Ed Oliver at 10M now, or in the future. Just trade Ed and sign/draft some big bodies. Can't wait to see Ed get swallowed up by bigger Offensive Lineman as they easily work their way to the second level and maul Bernard and Taron Johnson (or a rookie MLB).
  16. I could certainly be swayed to support this random never-going-to-happen scenario..
  17. Oh, I know, but I guess they would live by the “fool me once” motto… but maybe not. I love Brown’s potential, but man… that would be a tough pill to swallow.
  18. This, to me, signals we will likely draft a Tackle early. They can say they believe in Spencer Brown all they want, but I can’t imagine they believe in him enough for only Q and Doyle to be depth/competition.
  19. Sure, simp harder.. I'll take Allen or Burrow to put up massive numbers with Reid, an elite OL, elite TE and MVS, Juju, Toney, Moore etc.., That's more than we've ever given Allen.
  20. Won't argue there.. Veach & Reid are the best GM/HC duo in the NFL. Not just trading Tyreek Hill, but also letting their top Safety and CB1 walk in the same off-season. They replaced them with draft picks and made sure Mahomes had the best OL in the AFC, along with Kelce and enough weapons at WR to be dangerous.
  21. Signs of being a good team that's on national television a lot - Fans of other teams love the signings of former Bills. Immediate reaction of Texans fans to Singletary - They love it Immediate reaction of Colts fans to McKenzie - They love it Immediate reaction of Bears fans to Edmunds - They love it
  22. That's life with an elite QB. The Von Miller & Tre White contracts are the only really potentially arduous contracts on this team.. and much of that is due to us hoping they can be 90% of what they were pre-injury moving forward.
  23. I can live with us being pretty much set at the skill positions IF they invest in the OL as you predict. I still believe it's a leap of faith in a bunch of WR's, outside Diggs, to play to consistent level we haven't yet seen from them.. but there is talent and intriguing skill sets in the room, I'll certainly concede that. Strengthening the OL also allows Knox to be the playmaker we paid him to be. That alone could be the pass catcher that challenges Gabe Davis, albeit from the TE position. I love the RB room. Gone are the Moss/Singletary square peg/round hole guys... Speed, Speed and Power... FINALLY
  24. I get a little worried hearing so many say "The Bills WR room could be set".... I worry, because I can see how people .. maybe even our FO.. could say that. WR1 Diggs WR2 Davis WR3 Shakir WR4 Harty WR5 Sherfield TE Knox RB1 Cook RB2 Harris RB3 Hines All five of our WR's have inside/outside flex & there's quite a bit of speed in that room. Can Knox be freed up to be the pass catcher we paid him to be? The RB room looks extremely promising. I can see a world in which that's a really productive WR unit, and if the OL is improved, an elite Offense. I can also see a world where Allen & Diggs are extremely frustrated all season. Still believe the final addition to the WR room needs to be someone that can push Gabe Davis, but I can also see the FO taking a WR early Day 3 and then feeling like they did what they needed to do this off-season around Allen, given the cap constraints and draft capital.
