  1. This, to me, signals we will likely draft a Tackle early. They can say they believe in Spencer Brown all they want, but I can’t imagine they believe in him enough for only Q and Doyle to be depth/competition.
  2. Sure, simp harder.. I'll take Allen or Burrow to put up massive numbers with Reid, an elite OL, elite TE and MVS, Juju, Toney, Moore etc.., That's more than we've ever given Allen.
  3. Won't argue there.. Veach & Reid are the best GM/HC duo in the NFL. Not just trading Tyreek Hill, but also letting their top Safety and CB1 walk in the same off-season. They replaced them with draft picks and made sure Mahomes had the best OL in the AFC, along with Kelce and enough weapons at WR to be dangerous.
  4. Signs of being a good team that's on national television a lot - Fans of other teams love the signings of former Bills. Immediate reaction of Texans fans to Singletary - They love it Immediate reaction of Colts fans to McKenzie - They love it Immediate reaction of Bears fans to Edmunds - They love it
  5. That's life with an elite QB. The Von Miller & Tre White contracts are the only really potentially arduous contracts on this team.. and much of that is due to us hoping they can be 90% of what they were pre-injury moving forward.
  6. I can live with us being pretty much set at the skill positions IF they invest in the OL as you predict. I still believe it's a leap of faith in a bunch of WR's, outside Diggs, to play to consistent level we haven't yet seen from them.. but there is talent and intriguing skill sets in the room, I'll certainly concede that. Strengthening the OL also allows Knox to be the playmaker we paid him to be. That alone could be the pass catcher that challenges Gabe Davis, albeit from the TE position. I love the RB room. Gone are the Moss/Singletary square peg/round hole guys... Speed, Speed and Power... FINALLY
  7. I get a little worried hearing so many say "The Bills WR room could be set".... I worry, because I can see how people .. maybe even our FO.. could say that. WR1 Diggs WR2 Davis WR3 Shakir WR4 Harty WR5 Sherfield TE Knox RB1 Cook RB2 Harris RB3 Hines All five of our WR's have inside/outside flex & there's quite a bit of speed in that room. Can Knox be freed up to be the pass catcher we paid him to be? The RB room looks extremely promising. I can see a world in which that's a really productive WR unit, and if the OL is improved, an elite Offense. I can also see a world where Allen & Diggs are extremely frustrated all season. Still believe the final addition to the WR room needs to be someone that can push Gabe Davis, but I can also see the FO taking a WR early Day 3 and then feeling like they did what they needed to do this off-season around Allen, given the cap constraints and draft capital.
  8. They're not dealing with cap issues because of the RB position. Singletary is a legit NFL caliber RB, and we could have re-signed him. We chose not to. Instead we are spending small cap hits on Hines and, presumably, Harris, on short term deals. Not an issue. I do think Shakir and Davis are RD3 caliber prospects who fell. My issue is the lack on RD1/RD2 Offensive picks (See Below) The cap issue comes into focus solely due to the misses on the Defensive Line. 20M in cap AAV tied up in Von Miller because Epenesa and Basham didn't hit, while Oliver is not a difference maker and Rousseau (while promising) is more of a DE2. 2-1's and 2-2nd's, 4 premium picks in recent years, and we still had to pay Von to give us a high level pass rush. Furthermore, those picks were spent on the DL, and could have been used elsewhere.. say OL, where we wouldn't have to spend 7-8M per year on McGovern. End of the day, the guys they have truly spent on (Cap Hit & Term)... -Josh Allen -Stefon Diggs -Dion Dawkins -Mitch Morse -Dawson Knox -Von Miller -Tre White -Micah Hyde -Jordan Poyer -Matt Milano If Milano continues on his trajectory and the other 4 come back healthy in '23... this Defense, on paper, is elite. (provided MLB isn't a disaster) I'm not going to criticize Beane for spending on a top tier pass rusher and top tier corner because they suffered major injuries after getting paid. It's bad luck and we have to hope they can get back to 90% of what they were pre-injury... If they do, those investments look as intended. The DL draft picks though.. they are the issue. That's why we have minor cap issues (our cap issues are not major, fwiw).
  9. Bills could use a Day 3 pick on a secondary depth piece depending on what they plan on doing with Benford, but that’s about it. They are set at CB1, CB2, Slot, both Safety spots and have great depth at CB in Benford & Jackson. LB, DT, EDGE.. yea, sadly it seems we do still need help at all 3 positions. Heaven forbid Allen ever gets more than mid-tier FA’s and Late Day 2/Early Day 3 picks. Diggs doesn’t absolve them of constant neglect.
  10. If Beane wanted Singletary back, I’d be worried. However it happened, (and I suspect we didn’t make a huge effort to get DS back) we ended up with a RB that makes way more sense for us. Cook / Harris / Hines is a pretty dynamic RB room. Harris gives us power and pass blocking. Cook & Hines give us speed and pass catching. Singletary is a do it all RB that does nothing at a high level. He was redundant and would have held back our Offense.
  11. Interesting to see how hype Texans fans are about signing him. I didn’t want him back … at all, but he is an interesting back. Does almost everything average to above average, elite short area shiftiness, but lacks anything really threatening to the defense.
  12. True, but he’s hurt way too much. Some people are just injury prone. Also, we should probably draft a DT. We have nobody under contract for next year.
  13. Im still going to hope we make a final legit addition to the WR room and add some OL help, BUT…. McGovern >>> Saffold Harty >>> McKenzie Sherfield >>> Kumerow Harris >>> Singletary Retained Poyer So far we’ve lost Edmunds but have gotten better at LG, WR, WR and RB. Beane is doing a good job and these signings all make sense … no random players who we have to wonder how they fit or what they do well … Speed, Athleticism & Power. So far, so good…
  14. Please get a WR2 by the time the draft ends.. because I really want to give Beane credit for upgrading Singletary, McKenzie and Kumerow’s spots on the roster. Love the signings today.
  15. Just depends what Harty and Sherfield represent. Are they the off-season answers to the WR room or did we just make our WR4-6 portion of the WR room way more dangerous? We’ll see..
  16. Mahomes: -Top IOL in the NFL -Top tier Tackle -Elite TE Burrow: -Good IOL -Top tier Tackle -The best WR trio in the NFL Tua: -Mediocre IOL -Top tier Tackle -Elite WR duo Allen: -Mediocre IOL -Average Tackle -Elite WR1 Any way you slice it Allen is behind KC, CIN and MIA in terms of Offensive talent around him. He’s more in the Herbert/Rodgers level, assuming Rodgers is a Jet. I like the Harty & Sherfield upgrades, but being ok as is, is acknowledging that we haven’t provided Allen with anywhere close to the protection and/or weaponry of the two teams who played in the AFC CG, along with a team in our own division.
  17. Well said. If they go out and sign/trade/draft for a legit WR2 type/prospect, along with already having upgraded McKenzie/Kumerow with Harty/Sherfield, I'll be very happy with the remake of the WR room. If this is the entirety of their WR plan.... good luck Josh.
  18. I honestly like this signing - Sherfield has some potential. He plays Special Teams, so we still have room for a higher echelon WR, but adding Sherfield and Harty definitely gives us some juice we've been lacking.
  19. I'm not sure this is applicable to certain positions any longer. You're expecting to get legit contribution Year One from a Day 1 or Day 2 WR. Early Day 3 guys like Gabe and Shakir, the timeline can be a bit longer.
  20. They've invested heavier on Offense around Lamar than the Bills have around Allen. Maybe Lamar needs a Diggs.. he has Andrews, but Stefon Diggs type WR's don't want to play with Lamar, so....
  21. Gabe Davis was a 4th RD pick. Ravens have drafted Lamar 2-RD1 WR’s and 2-RD3 WR’s. They’ve also drafted a bunch of TE’s, including Andrews and invested more in OL than we have. Maybe Lamar just can’t elevate anybody.
  22. Nobody has a clue what he’s asking for. Literally all we know is that “4M ain’t enough”
  23. If you can’t understand how America selling weapons to be dropped on civilians in Africa, as we ignore genocide and territorial disputes on that continent isn’t relevant when discussing our “moral” responsibility to Ukraine, then I can’t help you. We pick and choose where we involve ourselves, and it’s not due to our moral compass.
  24. Ok Dick Cheney.. Let’s revisit this next year .. when the war grinds on … when more innocent people have died. Your support is slipping… it won’t last forever.
