  1. The mere fact that there even are escalators is a testimony to how much more complex the new stadium is from the current one. “Rich” Stadium is a very simple design with virtually no concourse infrastructure at all. Both the upper and lower bowl/deck are accessed by a single, shared, at-grade tunnel. It doesn’t get much more spartan/efficient than that.
  2. One thing I noticed in the fly over is that they’ve now made significant progress on the site work….especially in and around the main entry plaza. And, I was shocked to see that escalators had already been installed. That’s pretty impressive! Lastly, if any of you guys know how to hang drywall ya might want to head over there. They need a whole lot of it. 😉
  3. All I can say is…..Thank goodness! Up until this signing the Bills top three picks included a guy who’s being sued for assault, a guy without a contract, and a guy who’s already on the PUP list. How’s that for Debbie Downer?
  4. How much recognition do you want him to get? He’s in the Hall of Fame for heaven’s sake!
  5. Thanks! I saw that one…but there’s another one showing more of the actual progress.
  6. Just saw a fly around video of the perforated metal panels going up on the exterior facade. Looks like they’re making really good progress. They go up fast! Anybody got any photos they can share?
  7. First casualty of the yellow uniforms.
  8. Thank goodness it wasn’t Carolina….cuz you know where that would eventually lead.
  9. What does this have to do with billionaires? This issue doesn’t impact the salary cap. If anything, it’s more about the Coach/GM wanting future roster flexibility than it is about how much the Owner is willing to pay. No?
  10. I find this interesting. It’s a huge game of chicken, not all that unlike back in the day when hold outs were relatively common place. The league, and the fans, thought they’d moved past all that with the new rookie pay scale. It appears those days are over. The Agents have apparently found what they believe is their new golden goose. We’ll see how it plays out.
  11. No worries. My response is that believe it or not the seats are one of the least expensive elements of the new stadium. And the ‘tariff impacted’ cost of the actual plastic bucket is far less than the cost of the local labor to install them.
  12. Seeing these two big contract extensions by the Jets in the last two days it got me to thinking were the Bills early in extending their veterans, or are the Jets late, or are these teams just all on a different schedule? Seems like ages ago that the Bills locked in their roster.
  13. The yellow have to be ‘away’ jerseys, right? I can’t imagine the opponent wearing white against them.
  14. Or at least until people pay off their PSL! 😉
  15. I think the nuanced question is which players could the Bills MOST like/need to see improve? For me, it’d be first, Cole Bishop on defense and second, Coleman on offense. As to regression; which players could the Bills LEAST like see regress. For me, it’s anyone on the OLine.
  16. Exactly. I mentioned it at the time. It’s way too early in the construction sequence to install seats. Way too much work going on overhead. Although I was shocked to see that in the test fit video you could see that they’d actually gone ahead and installed the entire section’s seat brackets.
  17. That’s what I thought but instead it looks like they keep expanding it. A few months ago it was just along the west sideline but now it covers much more of the underside of the roof. They obviously think it’s more efficient than a lift. (And yes, I’ve seen them use a lift on a stepped floor surface but I have to admit the stadium roof is pretty darn high.) As I said, we’ll know soon.
  18. Most on here know I’m an architect. We typically wouldn’t t see a dance floor unless the work being installed covers the entirety of the surface. For example, ceiling panels, etc. For lights and speakers they’d use a lift. I guess we’ll all find out together.
  19. The Seattle stadium's roof design isn’t a cantilever overhang at all. It’s actually two huge trusses that span the length of the stadium and the roof bears on the them. And if I recall, the end zones are not covered. The closest design is of course Tottenham. There, the remaining seats are covered with a somewhat lighter translucent paneling which wouldn’t work with the heavy WNY snow loads.
  20. It’s not you, but remember the NFL is not like any normal employer/employee relationship. These guys careers are super short and they are paid at the very top of their profession. There’s little cap wiggle room, or player appetite for that matter, for keeping players on at a reduced salary.
  21. I’m still curious about what the scaffolding ‘dance floor’ hanging from the underside of the roof. There’s way more of it now than before when it was just along one sideline.
  22. The Bills aren’t running an alumni program. It was time for Bruce, Andre and Thurman to move or retire as Bills. None of them did anything after leaving WNY….with the possible exception of Bruce who made a little noise with the Redskins.
  23. Seems like the Union has negotiated higher pay and less working hours, while avoiding a work stoppage for almost twenty years. Isn’t that what the Union is supposed to do?
