Not my point. This is NOT a damnation of the front office but simply a statement of fact. You only get so many chances at these critical roster positions (and nobody is going to tell me that CB isn’t a critical position). Is it Max’s fault he got hurt? Absolutely not! But you’ve gotta believe the Coaching Staff built their roster on the assumption that he’d be starting on Day One. So much so that they released Elam in the offseason. Now they’re left starting the season with no Max, no Elam, and no Rasul Douglas. As I said…..what a mess! Let’s pray Max heals quickly.

Can it really be this damn difficult to play in the secondary in McDs defense?
-
Once again, my comment has nothing to do with Beane; no matter how desperate you are to make it so. It’s simply a statement of fact.
-
Huh? And my Aunt would be my Uncle if….. The point is that they’ve invested two first round picks on this single roster spot and as of yet have absolutely nothing to show for it. That’s a recipe for disaster in a league where top draft picks are a really valuable commodity. The franchise desperately needs for Max to heal and more importantly develop into a long term starter. You cannot keep playing with fire without getting burned.
-
Did I say that? No…. I didn’t.

What a mess! That’s now TWO first round picks at CB that haven’t gotten on the field. I know it’s a bit of bad luck but this cat only has so many lives before times up.

Bills Initial Roster - No real surprises
SoCal Deek replied to GASabresIUFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
So just like I say every year….the entire process is whole lot of energy and time expended over next to nothing. I really have to wonder when the NFL will do away with the entire farce that the preseason has become. -
I’m all over it. Stay tuned! He’s a Southern California kid so Buffalo will be a nice change of pace.
-
He’s the son of my wife’s close friend. That’d be so cool if he got on the Bills!

Remember there’s always time to start a podcast or become an internet influencer.

Well that seals it. Poor kid. Every year there’s a guy that shines in preseason and the entire Board is downright convinced that he’ll make the roster…and then less than a few days later, he’s cut. Shavers is doomed. 😉

I can tell you it’s definitely steep, but nothing like the old Orange level. That was downright frightening.

There’s honestly no way for me to compare. While the actual distance might be equal, less, or more, the surroundings are completely different. My general sense was that EVERYTHING seemed to be right on top of the field. The new stadium is very, very tall when you’re standing on the playing field. I attended the Giants game the next afternoon following my tour. (I doubt you’ll ever get a more accurate side by side comparison.) My takeaway was the existing stadium feels way more open and the stands are much shallower. If anyone’s ever been to the Rose Bowl you’ll know what I mean. When you sit in the Rose Bowl you’d swear there’s no way that it holds 100,000 seats. It’s extremely shallow and completely open to the sky.

Believe me Gunner…I really hope so. Regardless of whether your colours have been nailed, or not. 😉
-
That may be true but the point is that stating that our top D Line draft pick is going to play some still isn’t saying much then is it? As long as he has a pulse and a helmet he’s going to play some.
-
Fantastic! We got a rotational defensive lineman out of it. Now mind you, on the Buffalo Bills literally ALL of the defensive linemen play at least some of the snaps, so it’s really not saying much.
-
I have to agree. We went all in on defense and yet there’s a very good chance that NONE of them will be playing in a couple of weeks. Kinda makes all of those draft threads seem like an utter waste of time.

I think you’ll be very pleased. Having been in there, and on every level, of the new stadium last week, I believe you’ll find it to be much more intimate than the current stadium. I was struck with how enclosed it is. The new stadium’s seating bowl give the feeling of being right on top of the field. It might be the steepness, but I think a lot of is the roof overhang, and the consistency of the upper deck running all the way around the field. It feels NOTHING like the existing stadium. And as someone who’s been to quite a few of the NFL’s existing venues I can honestly say it will be completely unique to the league…at least for a while anyway.

They don’t need Gabe. ESPN has the Bills picking 32nd in their latest ‘26 mock citing a serviceable WR corp whilst picking a WR from USC.

New stadium to have real grass - per BB last night
SoCal Deek replied to Desert Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
They’re scheduled to lay the sod in October. The NFL required that they get more than just the spring growing season in before the start of next season. -

Did the Jacksonville coaching staff teach him to get down after he catches the ball over the middle instead of struggling for an additional yard and fumbling it in traffic? If so….I'm a solid maybe.

Rule Questions (Tuck/Intentional Grounding)
SoCal Deek replied to co_springs_billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’ve always felt the problem is the word “intentional”. It has no meaning at all anymore. It did when the rule was first created. Then along came Tom Brady and the entire idea went out the proverbial window.
