  1. Didn't Arians say he would like to work with Allen, or was it Jackson?
  2. If I understand you correctly, both the Browns and Jets also passed on the best QB in this class for no real reason. Ergo we made a mistake in 1983 by passing on marino to take Kelly, who by the way was injured his Senior year in college.
  3. How valuable are nf l draft profile numbers?
  4. I do not believe that you can project a franchise QB out of college. Every QB has his limitations coming out and the most critical is the condition of the team he goes to. Is the team ready. If not the qb will be a bust. Let's keep our picks and build a powerhouse. If we give away the top 5 picks this year I don't care who the QB is, he will not succeed. Just my HO.
  5. I am so over the predictions and prognosticators. For the first time in a very long time I am totally relaxed about the game. You see, we aren't supposed to be here, so we have already won.
  6. I like Rudolph, but I wouldn't discount Mayfield either. The popular boys scare me as west coast QB's. there is always a lot of hype that doesn't come to fruition. Stay where we end up and draft one of these two. They are hungrier I believe.
  7. in other words root for the bills to win out and hopefully celebrate on new years.
  8. 3 out of 4 bad things can happen when passing. 1) Pass not completed, 2.) Pass intercepted, or 3.) QB sacked for loss. Compliments of Woody Hayes (Ohio St). And that hasn't changed in my 70 years of life. If you have a two score lead and a decent defense play it conservatively. JMHO
  9. I look at the tiebreakers and don't see any that favor us. Someone please advise as to what I am missing. I am not complaining, but don't want to be disappointed on New years eve.
  10. I was just about to say that, thanks. Just read a piece on NFL.com showing all the great statistics of TT. What they didn't show was his inability to get TD's out of his passes or as you pointed out so adroitly, his inability to keep drives moving.
  11. I honestly believe that what we are witnessing is the beginning of a new era. This coaching staff is instilling a mindset of how to win instead of how to lose. Also, a desire to win.
  12. Remember Marrone is coaching the jags. Since the owner is ok with Kaepernick he will sign this week as the starter. Remember Orton.
  13. ML is a perfect example of a player with talent that went to a "team" poised to make a run, and was integral in doing it. His talent here, although great to see only led to more seasons of futility. Not because of him, but because we never really built a team since the days when butler gutted this team by holding on to players past their prime and drafting poorly, then leaving town for the chargers. Were we going to playoffs with two players that were probably not going to be here, when and if we finally started to perform as a team?
  14. Not necessarily so. Talent can add immensely to a team, if the talent is part of the team. But to draft and retain talented players to the detriment of wins and losses will not get you to the promised land. In addition the talented player will inevitably move on to teams that are already achieving success without them. In that condition they become superstars and you sit with egg on your face. Talented players will always come along, but first let's have a team in place where they can be a difference maker. Case in point Marshawn Lynch, etc.
  15. agreed. A quality signal caller will succeed without one parttime player. Did Sammy ever catch the winning TD or change the course of a game?
  16. My take is the team is improved starter wise, but probably not deep enough if too many starters fall. On the other hand, organizationally, by coaching standpoint we are much better prepared and not carrying injured questionable starters into the season. (possible exception - Watkins). newer faces are veterans for the most part. Unlike teams that start rookies in many key positions. George Allen always used to say that for every rookie starting on defense expect 1 loss. From what I see we may only be starting one rookie White. so the deficit isn't so steep. The receivers and QB must get on same page. This potentially is a 10-6 team IMHO.
  17. I am not sure how many on this board even watched the trial, but OJ was found not guilty because the LA Police and prosecutors office were totally inept. Had they taken the time to gather the evidence and properly prepare a case before arresting OJ, then they would not have been caught off guard by Simpson's attorneys demanding an immediate trial, to begin in 30 days, which is a law on the books pertaining to criminal cases. They were completely unprepared. they also were shown to have mishandled the evidence they had. Blood samples taken from OJ were not properly catalogued. Did they get two viles or three? they weren't quite sure. Why was blood found in conspicuous places, without droplets leading to them? And finally, the glove. Mishandling by freezing and defrosting is said to have had a shrinking effect. Then having OJ try to put them on over synthetic (ie surgical type) gloves was a ludicrous attempt at grandstanding. the evidence appeared to be overwhelming, but misused.
  18. I was traveling and had the radio on, and turned it off somewhere in Georgia. However, I had preset my VCR before the trip. Got home and found out they were in overtime. got to see Christie kick the game winner, then sat back to watch the entire second half.
  19. When mired in a 17 year span of futility, with coaches on the cusp of success (ie- malarkey and Maloney) leaving the team on their own, it is understandable that the press would be negative.I believe this team has possibilities, but the coaching staff will need to bring it out.
