  1. I tried to show just how bad Tyrod is when games matter. If we're not nursing a lead the entire game, he has ZERO ability to put the game on his shoulders and win it. People point to the Tennessee game in 2015 as if that's still relevant in any way. It's not. We have to have a lead throughout the 4th quarter or we're not going to win. Even in games where we have had a lead have been choked away once we fall behind even a little bit.
  2. Baltimore losing just isn't going to happen. They're not good, but playing better than most give them credit for. Hoping the Chargers and Titans lose is 50/50. Jags don't have much to play for, and Chargers are playing well.
  3. That Cian Fahey quote seems to be describing Tyrod perfectly. Mario Williams was great here for a couple of years
  4. We have a 13% chance... That's "alive" in the same sense that being terminally ill & in hospice is "alive."
  5. There's no way to tell who's going to be good next year or how things will pan out. Looking at the AFC West going into this year looked awful, and we went 3-1 against them. Same with the NFC South. We split & went 2-2. So who knows, we could go 3-1 against the AFC South & 2-2 against the NFC North this next year. Then as usual, it's up to us to win the division games & the Ravens/Chargers games.
  6. One of the comments on the article: "Buffalo is a funny place to watch football. It's almost like the city shuns successful people. Every week after a loss the Buffalo News talks about all the "coaching mistakes." Yet outside Buffalo the general consensus is McDermott is a great coach. The Bills have neither a QB, a backup running back or a defensive line,, yet they're 8-7. Two years ago they went 9-7 with 11 pro bowl caliber players. Gronk is hated because he WANTED TO PLAY HERE. Earth to fans. NOBODY wants to play here and up till McDermott, nobody wanted to coach here. When Pegula was interviewing, he got a long list of don't call me emails. The Sabres suck for the same reason. Where has hating Brady gotten us? Where is hating Gronk going to get us. Love they naighbor and when he's won 5 superbowls, emulate him." Kind of agree with him here. "
  7. No, not at all. Still stings, but that was expected. Then again, we had people last week saying they thought the Bills would still win the division...
  8. This is very telling too: "That didn’t sit well with two men who previously held Riveron’s position – former NFL vice presidents of officiating Mike Pereira and Dean Blandino." “Not in the studio but on the scoreboard here in Jerry’s world, don’t see how the Buffalo TD was overturned,” Pereira tweeted. “Not clear and obvious the toe didn’t drag. There is a line behind the toe when he drags it. Am I missing something?” “Regarding the Buffalo no touchdown, nothing more irritating to an official than to make a great call and then someone in a suit in an office in New York incorrectly reverses it. It is more and more obvious that there isn’t a standard for staying with the call on the field." "Now that another touchdown has been taken away with out clear and obvious evidence, it is time to move on to the catch rule. It doesn’t work. … The League and the [Competition] Committee cannot be close minded on this. It is not working now. We have to adjust this to make the game better." Pereira went off on this. Al Riverson deserves to be blasted for this.
  9. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/nfl-made-catch-rule-worse-latest-explanation-thats-bound-inflame-fans-players-023844170.html "It turns out you can even screw up an NFL catch via telephone. NFL vice president of officiating Al Riveron proved it Sunday, overturning a Bills touchdown catch during a 37-16 Bills loss to the New England Patriots." " By the letter of the NFL law, Riveron was supposed to yield to his guys on the field. Instead, he chimed in from the league’s operations headquarters and overturned the play – without an actual explanation on the field." WOOOOOW.... Reading this entire article made my blood boil. There are so many things wrong with this I don't even know where to start. People should be outraged everywhere. It's worth reading all the way through, as the two men who formerly held Al Riveron's position chimed in & were pretty ticked off too. This is a mess.
  10. In terms of refereeing, these are all valid complaints. You're right on #4 though, it was definitely PI. A good #5 would "all the non-holding calls" against the Pats. I saw countless BLATANT holds against the Bills that went uncalled that ticked me off almost as much as any of these. And I'd understand the Benjamin call if it was called that way on the field, I really would. If they had said from the get-go it wasn't caught in-bounds, I'd be fine with the ruling being upheld. But since there has to be irrefutable evidence to overturn a call, and the call on the field is supposed to stand if the evidence is iffy, the fact it was overturned was BS. However, it shouldn't have even gotten to that point. Clay should've caught the TD pass the play before and made it all moot. Taylor doesn't throw many redzone TD's as it is, so the fact he finally had one & it was dropped is just deflating.
  11. LOL you're right! We should invest in some groundhogs as receivers, that way they can get those tunnels going ASAP!
  12. 1. Jameis Winston isn't a 7 year vet 2. Jameis Winston has only played 11 games this year & is still having a superior season to TT. 3. In Jameis Winston's rookie year, he had a far better year than Tyrod's BEST season. He followed it up in his sophmore season & again, did better than ANYTHING Tyrod has ever done. 4. You think Tyrod Taylor could EVER throw for 4,000+ yards in 2 straight seasons, let alone one? No.
  13. Yep, throw my hat in with you guys.
  14. I'm just going to put everything I can out there and go all-in on this. I'm sure I'll get the "you've got too much time on your hands" comments, or "you're a hater" responses, but this is just info that backs everything we've seen, and I wanted it all in one place for future reference. Loss to Patriots 3-23 23. Loss to Patriots 16-37 Other Fun Info: -Took until week 12 against the Chiefs to lead a 1st Quarter TD drive. -Leads an offense ranked 31st overall in 1st downs. -Want to know why we kick FG's on 4th down or punt on 4th & short? We're 2 & 13 overall on 4th down this year. http://www.espn.com/nfl/statistics/team/_/stat/downs -We have the 2nd most 3 & outs in the league with 31 (only behind Indianapolis with 32). -Therefore we have the 2nd most punts with 30 (only behind NY Giants with 31). http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/drivestatsdef -Tyrod is ranked 33rd (out of 35) in passing yards per game with 178. Only Tom Savage & Brett Hundley have fewer. http://www.espn.com/nfl/statistics/player/_/stat/passing/sort/passingYardsPerGame -"Oh but he's got a great completion percentage!" - He's ranked 18th overall. Not impressive at all. -"But what about his passer rating?!" - It's 19th overall. Still below average. -Passing TD's he's ranked 25th overall with 13 on the year. Record against the Patriots: -1-5, with his 1 win coming against the 3rd string rookie Jacoby Brissett in 2016. He threw for a whopping 1 TD in that game, with us winning 16-0. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/T/TaylTy00/gamelog/?opp_id=nwe -In games against Brady-lead Patriots teams, he has 3 passing TDs, all in his first game. In the other 4, he has thrown 0. His numbers in those games: Game 1: 242 yards, 3 TD's, 3 INT's 76.7% completion Game 2: 233 yards, 0 TD's, 0 INT's, 55.6% completion Game 3: 183 yards, 0 TD's, 0 INT's, 50% completion Game 4: 65 yards, 0 TD's, 1 INT's, 50% completion Game 5: 281 yards, 0 TD's, 0 INT's, 55% completion Addressing Common Claims: -"Passing yards don't matter! Who cares if he doesn't throw for 300 yards!" *Problem...The successful teams have successful passing attacks. Leaders in the league are Tom Brady, Ben Roethlisberger, Matthew Stafford, Drew Brees, Philip Rivers, Alex Smith, Russell Wilson, Kirk Cousins, Jared Goff, Matt Ryan, Case Keenum, Carson Wentz, Blake Bortles. Nearly all of those teams are either in the playoffs, or in contention. -In 3 seasons as a starter, he has ONE career 300 yard game, and that was because the game went into OT, allowing him the extra yards to crack 300. -"But Big-D, we're a run-first offense so he doesn't get as many attempts!" *Problem...his attempts are low due to his execution on the field. When you lead the league in 3 & outs, where are you? Not on the field. If they moved the ball, he'd have more attempts by virtue of simply being out there still playing! **Even so, he is 27th in yards per attempt with 6.52... Give him 5 extra attempts (which would be more than half the league on average), and he'd only have 32.6 extra yards (assuming he completed every pass). -"It's the offensive coordinator! The playcalling sucks!" *Problem...We've had 3 offensive coordinators in 3 years, and they all try their damndest to get something out of the passing game with TT. The passing game regresses each year, but at times they manage to compensate with the run game. However, teams more & more commit to stopping the run & forcing Tyrod to play QB, which has become an effective strategy. Coaches that say "we are a run-first team that wants to pound the ball & play tough defense," do so because they have no other choice. **If a team has a competent QB, they don't have to declare anything like that. They can like to run the ball, but still pass just as often, if not more. Teams without QB's have no other choice but to try & pound the ball. You're not going to gameplan for some crazy passing attack with a QB who can't throw the ball...you try to run, and mix in short passes, play action, screens, & take a couple shots. That's it. There's no other option. Blaming every single OC who comes through town as the reason playcalling sucks, as if it's that simple, is an exercise in futility. They are working with a gimped playbook, and handicapped by the QB behind center. If the QB has shown to be unable to execute, you can only do so much. ***A simple playbook can help streamline things against certain weaker teams, but when facing top-tier coaches & talent, you run into a wall. You can question them as much as you want, but you won't know what they really want to do (or can do) until you have a QB capable of executing on the field. More Fun Facts! -Tyrod ranks 19th in total QBR out of 32 players...so "below average." -Tyrod's BEST game of the season is ranked 41st out of all games played (Week 15 against Miami) out of 50. http://www.espn.com/nfl/qbr/_/type/player-game -Above him are Jacoby Brissett, Josh McCown, C.J. Beathard, Dak Prescott, Case Keenum, Brock Osweiller, Sam Bradford, Jimmy Garoppolo, DeShaun Watson, Kirk Cousins & all the other usual suspects. -Leader in receptions on our team: LeSean McCoy with 57. Next, Charles Clay with 43. Then comes the dropoff, Zay Jones & Jordan Matthews tied with 25 a piece. Next we have Nick O'leary with 21, tied with Deonte Thompson at 21. WR's don't get much action under TT. -In terms of receiving yards, it's Charles Clay with 457 followed by LeSean McCoy at 350. Don't forget, Clay missed a couple games due to injuries as well, yet he still tops all actual WRs. -Tyrod had a couple good passes to WR's today, but overall he doesn't throw their way often. He sees his outlet pass or last read as the first option and dumps off to the RB & TE, even on 3rd & long. He rarely hits receivers in stride, or won't throw to them at all unless they're wide open on all sides of the ball. He doesn't "throw guys open" nor does he audible out of plays at the line he knows are bad. He throws to the short route even though men downfield are open, and he frequently doesn't see open men at all. On top of that, how many times does he throw into the dirt to wide open receivers? All. The. Time. -Does he hold on to the ball too long? Yes. Tyrod's "Time to Throw" is at 3.0 seconds, 3rd highest in the league. Only above him are DeShaun Watson & Russell Wilson. https://nextgenstats.nfl.com/stats/passing#average-time-to-throw -Also, in terms of where he throws the ball, he throws half a yard short of the sticks on average, good for 22nd in the league. -To further highlight this point, there is a metric called "Aggressiveness/AGG%" where Tyrod is ranked 32nd. Aggressiveness rating is defined as "the amount of passing attempts a QB makes that are into tight coverage, where there is a defender within 1 yard or less of the receiver at the time of completion or incompletion. AGG is shown as a % of attempts into tight windows over all passing attempts." So in summation/TL;DR - Tyrod isn't good. Also, just to make sure people take this seriously, I have a source inside OBD that told me Tyrod is bad, and the Bills don't want him as QB. There, now it's official.
  15. I'm not going to pretend I know what's going through Taylor's head in these situations, but this is a pretty common theme from him. If you ever see him commit a bad play, fail to execute on a drive, go 3 & out, throw a pick, whatever it is, he just has no expression on his face and walks away. He doesn't look upset, doesn't look mad, just kind of like he's going through the motions.
  16. Wilson wasn't competing against an incumbent starter. There was an open QB competition between him & Matt Flynn, a FA signing. Dak only played due to Romo getting injured in preseason. He won nothing. Just as Brady didn't play until Bledsoe got injured. Just as Kaepernick didn't play until Alex Smith got injured. I'd love all those QB's from the draft too, but I would be happy with Smith & fine with Cousins, as they're both far superior in every conceivable way than TT.
  17. He's one of those guys that bases half his opinion of a guy on where they were drafted. From there, he only needs to see but a tiny bit of playtime to decide the rest.
  18. According to 26CornerBlitz, EVERYTHING. We've seen all we need to see on Peterman. Everything you've seen in his limited play is enough to fully recognize everything he is, and everything he ever will be. But we need to see more Tyrod. 7 years in the league & 3 years starting isn't enough time to properly evaluate the kind of player he is.
  19. Draft spot means nothing in terms of QB's. Thought that should've been apparent with people like Russell Wilson, Tom Brady, Dak Prescott, etc. They got LEGITIMATE chances, not these goofy half game stints. And when it comes to draft stock, anything can affect where a QB goes. Their combine, their height, their hand size, where they played, their interview, etc. Teams get enamored with horrible picks (Blaine Gabbert and Brady Quinn) and ignore others. Just seeing a guy as "he was selected in the 5th, therefore he's always just that number in our eyes" is a failure & disservice to the player. Thanks for your input. I always backup what I say, but I guess one-liners & emojis are more your thing.
  20. I rather see us run the wildcat 100% of the time if Tyrod is the QB than to pretend we have an actual decent QB behind center that can execute a proper NFL offense. But if we're going to trot out a real NFL offense, I'd rather see unfortuNATE behind center than mediocrity we have now.
  21. But he is. The 32nd ranked passing offense doesn't get better keeping the same QB. We've had 3 seasons with him, we've been at the bottom of the league in each of those seasons. It's a passing league. We've run several OC's out of town (with now people campaigning to run Dennison out too). We can keep spinning the wheels but ultimately we need a change at QB if we're ever going to find success. We had a LOADED team in 2014, just a QB away, yet that didn't happen & the rest is history. Now that same OC you guys hated, along with the HC that hired him has made the Jaguars a contender. I'm educated, and can prove it to anyone who wants to question where I get my info. I provide stats, backup what I'm saying with actual info. And it all corresponds with what I see on the field. You can claim people that want Tyrod to go are "uneducated" but in reality, they see a 7 year vet who has regressed each year and struggles to even score 1 TD a game.
  22. How? Is that how much time you give a rookie? 1 quarter, 2 quarters and 2 quarters? If that's a case, no wonder we don't draft QB's. You guys couldn't take the growing process. Why would you even want them to address the QB position in the offseason? If they don't immediately do spectacular you'll say "we tried the ______ thing," and move on to the next guy. Very conducive to success.
  23. Let me stop you right there... 1. Romo didn't have "what was considered the most talented roster in the league surrounding him on multiple occasions" EVER. He had 1 year where that could've been argued, but that was at the very end of his career, with DeMarco Murray, a great O-line & Dez Bryant. Besides that, he has never had a stacked roster. 2. Romo was the main reason those Cowboys teams even stayed in contention most years! He played lights out and put the team on his back to carry them to wins they otherwise shouldn't have had. 3. You don't have to be the best player ever to understand the game. That's why some of the best coaches in the league were backups in their playing days. Pay attention. That's how it is in EVERY sport. Michael Jordan was the best basketball player ever, does that mean he knows what to look for in evaluating talent? No. He drafted Kwame Brown, one of the biggest busts in NBA history...hmmm. 4. Romo set & beat all of the Cowboy's passing records because he was that good. He was also the only reason they won most of the games they did because the team revolved around him. How successful was Dan Marino in the playoffs? Guess he sucked too. 5. Jerry Jones picked coaches that were "yes men" and made them pick players based on who he liked. It wasn't until his son took over the drafting responsibilities late in Romo's career that they started building a stacked team. They invested in the O-line and were smart in FA. Unlike Jerry who wanted to pay for flashy names & draft home-town favorites like Manziel. 6. Romo has 25 4th quarter comebacks and is ranked 16th all time. Tyrod has 3...and is tied for 231st all time. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/leaders/comebacks_career.htm 7. From 2007 to 2016, no QB had a higher passer rating in the 4th Quarter than Tony Romo. http://ftw.usatoday.com/2017/04/tony-romo-clutch-4th-quarter-comebacks-game-winning-drives-stats Now if stats & facts aren't your thing, you can keep your head in the sand and pretend Romo wasn't a great QB. You can also pretend that he doesn't know what he's talking about based on that play, as if the 2 are somehow related.
  24. What teams have had worse QB play than us that have won SB's? The 2000 Baltimore Ravens? They had the 22nd ranked passing offense, and 14th ranked offense overall. NOPE. The 2002 Tampa Bay Buccaneers? They had the 15th ranked passing offense and 18th ranked offense overall. NOPE. The 2012 Baltimore Ravens? They had the 15th ranked passing offense, and 10th ranked offense overall. NOPE. The 2015 Broncos? They had the 14th ranked passing offense, and the 19th ranked offense overall. NOPE. The 2017 Bills? They have the 32nd ranked passing offense, and the 23rd ranked offense overall. NO team has won a Super Bowl with a worse passing offense OR a worse ranked overall offense than the Bills under Tyrod. Unless you want me to go back to the 70's and check that out.
