How many HOF players were on that defense? Parcells took that style of defense with him everywhere even without Belicheck. He found his style of guys to play his style of football. I would argue the main guys in New England were drafted by Parcells the first time around. Overall, Belicheck is was a very good coach. He is considered the GOAT because of Brady. He spent too much money last year and is handcuff at improving the roster this year.

Diggs Extended 4 more years breaking news per WGR 550
Mat68 replied to BillsPride12's topic in The Stadium Wall
Epensea going into the year was just behind Chase Young as best edge in the country. Idk if his physical change helped or hurt him. He was a no brainer 2nd rder. Gotta take swings at premier positions. If Rouseau, Basham, or Epensea hit its a huge boost. You can call Epensea a miss if he doesnt pan out but I wouldnt blame the organization. Seemed like a homerun at the time. -

Im not really interested in who people grade where. From people that do it for a living he is in the running as a top 5 wr. Imo that makes him an option for Buffalo. Production in college is important but its also in most cases apples to oranges comparison. The athlete is worthy of consideration at 25. Beane and the current regime go athlete in rd 1. Allen, Edmunds, Oliver, Rouseau are all freaky for their position. Watson might be the freakiest guy in the draft. With Allen he could be a weapon down the field. I think we need a Cb more but Watson or some other wr might be the better player.
-
I think the best Rb in this draft in 3 years will be Zamir White from Georgia. Buffalo takes him in the 3rd rd and he will be a difference maker for the offense. His knee injuries will scare some away. I see him as Frank Gore coming out of the U. Has burst and speed.
-
Addition by subtraction with Dareus. Watkins and Darby were the only assets they had that were worth anything. Waktins and Darby moves were what helped Buffalo draft Allen and Edmunds. Yes, dead-cap is self inflicted but signing the players they moved on from too the contracts was the problem to begin with.

People saying no get too caught up in the in the business of football. He left for more money and a chance to win a superbowl. Back then the team was trash and Mcdermott changed it to what it is now. He is a very good cb still. That would be a massive upgrade over Wallace. Having a bigger guy to play TEs and larger wrs would make the defense much better.

Hes a unanimous MVP Qb. Its the easiest deal to do. I want x more than Watson fully guaranteed. I dont have a MBA or passed the bar. Its not complicated for a good Qb. Played out perfect. Im curious how its spun by insiders. Usually, paint the player poorly for not using an agent.
-
He will ask for a bit more than Watson. 240 all guaranteed. He is being treated like an idiot for not signing now. Thats mainly by media talking heads who have relationships with agents. Last year of his deal on the brink of FA Lamar will hold all the leverage. It will be a massive deal.

Bills match Bears Offer Sheet for Ryan Bates, 4 yr deal
Mat68 replied to nato7412's topic in The Stadium Wall
Modern NFL lines are only as good as the weakest guy. Bates raises that level if Saffold can continue good play. I would expect 2 day 3 online man and the line is set. -
After going to games in Tampa and Miami its time for a new Stadium. Those are not even cutting edge but miles ahead of High mark. I think it will be good. Better in stadium experience overall. More primetime home games.
-
They probably wanted to do it next year. Bates signs and an offer sheet, still need a cb. Best way to create cap space is extending Diggs. I think it happens. Allen wants him here. If you are Beane it solves alot of issues.

Combine it with a full service massive bar and you will have many sign up for it.

Greg Cosell talks Wide Receivers and names scheme fits
Mat68 replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Olave or Dotson remind me of Diggs. Both can play any where. Look smoother than fast but also both have legit speed. Olave was the number wr for OSU. They might have had as deep or deeper wr room than Alabama. Wilson, Olave, Jnigba-Smith, HArrison, with Jameson Williams unable to see the field and transferred to Bama. -
Hard to see how it goes but if Brisker falls a bit he could be a guy and of Rd 2 or R 3 buffalo trades up for. I believe Buffalo drafts an extra guy on day one or 2. Either 2 first rders and another day 2 pick or 1 first rder but 3 guys day 2. They need quality at spots but not really alot of depth. I think a few lineman day 3 and its a wrap.
-
My guess Dotson or Olave Rd 1. Trade up in rd 2 for McCeary.

I strongly disagree about the Evans and London comps. Evans combine was insane for a man his size. He was also Mossing and running away from SEC secondaries. London is not the athlete Evans is or was. I think the comp is Alshon Jeffry. For the offense Buffalo runs I dont London as a fit. He will struggle with separation and isnt a good enough athlete to run away from dbs. -
He was a 5 star linebaker coming out of high school. Now how PSU handled Parson brings in alot of questions as how they use talent there. Overall, Brooks was the better player last year. Smith is bigger and faster but not the leader or player that Brooks was.
-
He really isnt though. Has the the height, weight speed but Ellis Brooks is late day 3 or undrafted was a better player.
-
Its still a business. He has out produced his contract imo. Making 10 mil less a year isnt petty. I think Buffalo can make it work and create cap room to add a starting lineman and starting Corner by doing so.

Looming Stefon Diggs Contract situation - What do you do?
Mat68 replied to CountDorkula's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think it makes more sense cap wise to do it now. Create space for Bates and a Corner keep the #1 locked in for Allen. Or create space get picks. Going as is through the year will be a struggle. Oline and Db depth will be a problem. Plus need upgrades at other spots. -

Adams 67.5 guaranteed and Hill 75 mil. I think 60 to 65 over 3 years guaranteed is do able. A Von Miller type 6 year deal would bring down Diggs cap hit to allow Buffalo to resign Bates and sign a possible Cb. I think its almost a must. I dont want to go into the draft with holes in the secondary and Oline. That looks like where they are heading without resigning him. Pay him over the next 3 years. Escape hatch after 3. 3 year deal with 2 or 3 years of Bs on the end. -

I have no problem paying Diggs into his 30s. He loses some speed, slide him into the slot and will beast for a few years too. What we do at Corner than. Reason we lost to Kc gets bigger.
