  1. Just to throw this out there, if Morse is cleared health wise going into Sunday and the team is playing it safe and he isn't on the injured list then McDermott has to say it was football decision. If he says he wasn't healthy and we were just being safe, it leaves the Bills open to a fine or draft pick compensation losses. See Jerry Hughes 2 years ago I think it was, wasn't on the injured list but his wrist was injured and we caught a fine. So using the football decision makes sense, protects the team and Morse
  2. Playing C through my years of football, having some sort of comfort level with the QB is massive. If I know how he is pre-snap or what he's looking for I can call out certain things like blitz reads or blocking changes. Specially in gun I can help my line while he can focus on his pre-snap reads.
  3. So just piling on to what some other people have said. Our scheme is most definitely and vertical passing scheme right now. The issue with a vertical passing scheme is you need to use it open up the run or be able to run and set up play action. Until yesterday we weren't able to effectively run the ball and attempt to freeze the defence. When you're no threat to run the ball you can rush 4 and drop 7 into coverage and bracket certain WR like Diggs or Brown. Our most effective plays were the Smoke Screen to Brown and some underneath routes, and Moss running power or off tackle a la his TD run. I think there's a slight correlation between Feliciano coming back and some production but now we need Morse healthy
  4. The NFL just needs to go the way of college football. Targeting (defenseless player/crown of the helmet) should be subject to automatic review. At least they can take a second look that isn't in real time. Those plays always look worse in real time where the replay allows you to confirm the penalty or pick up the flag.
  5. Miller would be a decent back in our system. He's a one cut back similar to Arian Foster was, only difference is that Miller has better speed. I'd take Miller over Yeldon in a heartbeat, he's averaged 4.3 for his career behind some really really awful OL too
  6. When I played specials in my provincial league our ex college player coaches called them gunners based on responsibility
  7. Technically not just punts, contain is the outside guys for kickoff and the inside guy by the kicker is basically your gunner. They used to be the wedge buster so now it's straight shot at the return man ala gunners.
  8. As a Hurricanes fan you hit the nail on the head with JJ, his physical attributes don't jump off the book at you but his instincts and the ability to be around the ball 24/7 should be obvious. He was also the leader of the Miami defense while he was there.
  9. Weak link is OLB, maybe CB. If you have a late round pick in the first use it on an OLB not a CB. Cant imagine paying Tre and another potential top corner when upfront we have to pay Milano, Edmunds, and Oliver
  10. Butler is a player that you pick up going into week one so you can see if he's been overlooked and you get him for peanuts, otherwise Adonis Alexander is a BIG corner, and he's probably limited to FS/SS but the Cover 2 scheme may actually be a benefit to him
  11. That was an ugly draft all around, I love Wilson but him going top 3 seems weird. I assume it's done as a fantasy long term draft...you'd figure the older QB's may go later due to them retiring sooner than later
  12. I'm not saying Moss will be bad, just throwing out a scenario. I'll be able to see him up close if the season actually goes on, I work game days with a team. Weed is still a no no up here in the CFL if I'm correct and that should be an indicator of him somewhat. I'm hoping he does well as he's talented
  13. Vosean Joseph makes the team over Thompson, Matekavich replaces Thompson skill wise and S/T play as well. Odds are our three starting LB are Milano/Edmunds/Joesph. If Trey Adams and Daryl Williams are both healthy I think they make the team over Bates and Nsekhe.
  14. He's been all in on the Bills even after we let him go and still cheers us on. I'd be okay with bringing him back should Moss not turn out and Williams looks good in Toronto
  15. Sept. 13: vs. N.Y. Jets - Always a grind out game vs them, I do think we have the better roster but if that defense is up to par it's going to be close but I'll take the odds at home. W Sept. 20: at Miami - Tua's likely first start, I'd rather start him vs us instead of New England week one. Defense is improved but not to the extreme that I think they stop us. W Sept. 27: vs. LA Rams - Rams offense is kinda non exsistent outside of Kupp and Woods, on defense Aaron Donald can ruin anyone's game. Contain Donald and I like our odds. W Oct. 4: at Las Vegas - Could be Carr could be Mariota. Neither QB is great but the defense in Vegas looks to be getting better and better. Toss up. W Oct. 11: at Tennessee - Tannehill...is he Miami Tannehill or has he turned the corner? Titan's defense is good but lost some pieces. L Oct. 15: vs. Kansas City - unlike some, I really like being home on a short week vs KC plus they play a division game before this. May be a "trap" game. W Oct. 25: at N.Y. Jets - I think we split home and home with the Jets. Tough game with their defense regardless. L Nov. 1: vs. New England - I like a turn around here vs the Patriots, should be a good game either way. Two top 10 defenses. W Nov. 8: vs. Seattle - Seattle comes to town with a team that isn't what it used to be, Wagner is still there, as is Wilson, but they come cross country after playing San Fran. W Nov. 15: at Arizona - This will be fun, fast paced high octane offense vs what should be a shutdown D. If we can keep Arizona under 21 we should win. W Nov. 22: BYE - I LOVE THIS BYE Nov. 29: vs. L.A. Chargers - Probably Herbert at this point, Chargers are in rebuild...but the DL there is still scary. W Dec. 7: at San Francisco - Monday night Bills, tough game and that team is just really good. L Dec. 13: vs. Pittsburgh - Sunday night in Buffalo, we win here and could already be looking at playoffs. W Dec. 20: at Denver - Sets up like a trap game for us and if we get flexed I'm not excited about it. L Dec. 28: at New England - primetime in New England...always tough to win there in prime time. L Jan. 3: vs. Miami - Close out at home vs Miami trying to play spoiler for a potential 2 seed. W 11-5, I can see us 12-4 or 10-6. Although I think to win the division we need 11.
  16. Not even a curse honestly, Trubisky was one and done as a starter in college in qb friendly system. Just a hyped up college kid
  17. I had one with Niang from TCU at 54 and Arnette at 86
  18. I think with Alton Robinson's past transgressions he won't be high on our Draft board. I really like Jon Garvin in the 4th or 5th, but next year Miami has two first round DE's coming out. Greg Rousseau, and grad transfer Quincy Roche
  19. at 54 you just take BPA or we'll trade back. Have to think one of the WR will drop out of round 1. Corner/LB could be the look. I think you'll see something like 54-CB/LB R3-OL/WR R4-RB R5-DE/WR R6-LB/CB/DT R7-Former 5star recruit
  20. No...I'd rather take Hekker the punter from the Rams at qb over Winston.
  21. Looking at what was still available from that graphic earlier...Daryl Williams from Carolina as a G/T is always a possibility, I'd love to add a safety like Karl Joseph(special teams heavy hitter, can play both FS/SS), still lots of DT available including McCoy, Poe, Joseph, Harrison, Suh. You could probably still add a decent corner too
  22. Trufant would be a nice piece, Reader, Schobert would be nice too
  23. Best thing for both parties. Shame his career ended the way it did but, best for both
