  1. That was a good drive. This game is all about field position.
  2. No way do you invest another top 15 pick in a QB.
  3. No, no - the eye test from guys who have no idea what Zay was supposed to do is much more valid
  4. It’s interesting, though - they do, quite often.
  5. I thought coaches were supposed to play the percentages.
  6. I have zero problem not going for it on 4th. Anyone catch Georgia yesterday? This is a field position game...
  7. He’s always looking downfield - he has a great ability to scramble and sense pressure, while still focusing on the play.
  8. 2 whole passes? We’re in way too much of a mode of picking apart every little thing. Did you catch Rodgers the other night? Even the best have really bad throws.
  9. Or, it could just go down as a standard incompletion that no one talks about again.
  10. Giving him more time is key. Indy wasted good years with Luck by not investing in the line. The Pats were the model for this for years. If you have a real QB, protect him and give him time to throw- and many good things will happen.
  11. Man, were those refs bad. And another observation - while I have been able to tuck away my Cowboys hate for most of the past 20 years, it always surprises me how it’s right there under the surface after games like this. Guess that will never go away.
  12. Jim’s ESPY speech was beyond inspiring. I think about it whenever something comes up that I consider challenging - which of course is always minuscule compared to what he has had to face and battle. Best wishes to him and his family.
  13. It’s too bad they couldn’t ever do a game like this. It would be an eye opener for anyone who thinks it wouldn’t be one if the all time blowouts. It doesn’t matter how dominant a team is in college, or how bad the pro team is. A pro team would win by many, many touchdowns.
  14. I was a huge Darnold guy. I still think he will pan out quite well for the Jets. But I’d go Allen. He has a lot of intangibles that you really can’t teach. And I love the idea of the Bills and Jets fighting it out for first place in the division over the next decade or so - while the Patriots look up from the cellar.
  15. This is basically my view. We got the right guy. I think Allen will be the Bills QB for the next decade+. I’m so glad he is getting all of the experience and reps this season. The Bills have the cap money and picks to build an outstanding o line next year, and add better receivers. With the defense already playing lights out, it’s exciting to think of how good we could be next year.
  16. Great write up. I’ve been onboard with Allen since “the hurdle.” The guy just knows how to play football. Our search - which began when Clinton was President - is over.
  17. All of these QBs have been pretty maligned in this era of relentless hot takes. When all is said and done, I think this will be looked back on as the best QB draft in decades.
  18. Do the Pats always have to get a bye?
  19. He did so many good things today. But my favorite was when he went up to every player in offense as the clock ticked down to bang helmets and say good job. He’s just a natural leader. You can see the rest of the team feed off of his energy.
  20. There is a Pats fan on one of the general sports boards who is convinced that they won’t miss a beat when BB retires because they’re “grooming” one of his sons to take over. Bloodlines don’t matter.
  21. Peterman probably could have had a career like Chase Daniel in different circumstances. Bad luck for him.
  22. The Pats still have a good shot at the Super Bowl for 2 reasons: a weak AFC, and the acquisition of Gordon (thanks, Cleveland). But this is the end. Both the division and conference should be improved next year, and Brady won’t get younger or better. I will enjoy watching him decline.
  23. The 2nd half of our schedule is favorable. And I refuse to concede New England - we almost beat them with a complete lack of quarterback play. I will continue to believe until we are mathematically eliminated. Because, well, why not?
