  1. I think Norman can be that guy. He really wasn't bad last night. The one PI that extended the Titans drive was a real ticky tack call. Brown had some big receptions, but I'd be hard-pressed to say that Norman got burned on those - his coverage was tight. He would have been fine last night as the #2, with Tre on Brown.
  2. Looking at our schedule and the Patriots, I'm becoming more inclined to think that the entire season will come down to the head-to-head matchups. We just can't get swept again. I believe we can maintain a 1 game advantage over them in all of the other games - but this Bills team MUST split w/ the Pats, at minimum. No more excuses.
  3. It was just one of those nights. Sometimes, and early play can set a tone that lasts until the final whistle. That 1st INT was that play. Then, it was just Murphy's Law - penalties (2 that extended eventual TD drives), more turnovers, not setting the edge, blown coverages, et al. I didn't see much in the game that gave me that feeling I've had in other seasons: that this team just can't compete, or isn't a contender. I thought Allen was still great outside of the one bad INT.
  4. That was such a big play. And they made it look easy.
  5. TN played better - but they got quite a few gifts yesterday. That 1st pick set the tone, and should have been a 1st down. The refs gave TN a few soft calls that kept TD drives going. We made uncharacteristic penalties. I wouldn't fear them if we met them again in the playoffs. Vrabel can be the next BB - but Tannehill sure isn't the next Brady.
  6. The Norman PI really bothered me. It didn't really exist. And it didn't even out tonight. But, the nation was fairly upset at the PI that extended our GW drive in the Rams game. So, there's that.
  7. I'd be surprised if we lose. If this team is who I think they are, they'll come back strong next week. Not that the Chiefs won't, but I see this as being a good match-up overall.
  8. I mean, what is with the containment issues? DE's routinely breaking inside of their blocker instead of sealing the edge. And the 3rd & 7 Offside was such a hair puller. Overall, the penalties were pure amateur hour - just bad coaching. Championship teams can't make that many unforced mistakes. But that 3rd & 7. We had a shot there. Even if the kicker makes the FG, we're down 14 w/ plenty of time left. That cannot happen.
  9. Kind of hope we get this team again in the playoffs. Don't like 'em.
  10. Yeah - that 1st pick was pretty tough. We're good on the 1st drive these days. We seem to come in w/ a plan and generally take the early lead. But, we also need to get punched in the mouth and adjust if the plan doesn't play out like it should. We didn't do that tonight. We got our 1st test on that level, and failed. Better now than in January.
  11. I don't want to get all hot-takey, and think this Bills team still wins the division. But we're a few playmakers on D from being a true SB contender. You just don't win championships with this defense.
  12. The punter. That punt COULD have turned the game.
  13. If this was a normal game, on Sunday, do we win? I kind of hate that the Titans seem to have been rewarded for being the most careless. I hope that they at least lose a draft pick. How about that punt by Borquez? (name spelled wrong, too lazy to look it up). One of the highlights of the night, imo. I'm generally upset w/ him for not being able to pin teams inside the 20, but that punt could have changed the game. If he can do that it balances out.
  14. I think one of the wonderful things about life is how it can surprise you. If you had told me that I'd eventually hate Tannehill, I would have cracked up. Huh? I would have said.
  15. I love Singletary - but he's really only good in space. He's better catching the ball out of the backfield, or running on the edges. He should never run up the middle again. When is Moss back? Still want to see what he can do.
  16. Can we have the obligatory complaining about the refs? One TD from a phantom Norman PI (and that WAS phantom), and one from a ticky tack roughing the passer. Didn't see it even out.
  17. The Edmunds play that genuinely scared me was the short TD run. He was right there - but he wasn't even looking at the runner. It seemed like he was more concerned about simply beating the block.
  18. Watching the D is tough. I feel like for the better part of 2 decades, we always at the very least had a good D. It's a new experience having 3rd & 19 and not knowing if your D will get a stop. I'm not familiar w/ this.
  19. Still 1st place in the AFC East. If I can still say that at the beginning of January, who cares.
  20. Edmunds and Epenesa are both guys who NEED to play like the stars they were hyped to be. I'm a forgiving fan, but that Offside by Epenesa is going to take some time. At that point in the game, I was thinking we COULD get a stop. 3rd & 7, force a long FG, and you're still down by 2 scores with a great offense. That Offside practically lost the game single-handedly. He's a rookie, so what can you do. But man - gotta learn from that. No reason for it.
  21. This game made me believe in Allen even more. Loved how he went up the sideline at the end. People have bad games. This kind of game makes great players better.
  22. I suppose the worst part is the ol' internets - gotta stay away for a bit (except this board). Too many, "there it is - they're the same ol' Bills. Knew the Pats would win the division." One bad game. I didn't see much tonight to truly alarm me - our D isn't great, but it's better w/ Tre & the Cookie. And it just needs to be good enough.
  23. Man, Espenza. Such a HUGE mistake.
  24. It's pretty tiring. A few ticky tack calls that negate good 3rd down stops, and lead to 2 TD's.
  25. What did we ever do to the refs? 2 very soft calls give them 2 TD's.
