Got my season ticket cards today
Royale with Cheese replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall
Got my tickets for the Monday Nighter against the Jags. Someone was just trying to get rid of the tickets and I think I got a steal. $225 a piece for 1st row endzone tickets near the tunnel. The sections next to use are going for $600. -
We had enough talent to put up more than 1 offensive TD against the Texans who had a below average defense. I think you can agree on that. The Chiefs put up 51 the following week. I don't see any spot where the Bills WR during the playoffs was really bad. I think 2019 was average and after that, it's been good or decent. Yes, there were years the OL was below average, I can agree with that. The OL was dominated in the Bengals playoff but when we had opportunities, we didn't capitalize. Allen didn't play well when he had time, there was film breakdown on the game after that showed several missed opportunities. It was a bad overall game from both units.

That is a terrible comparison lol. Not scoring in the playoffs is not equivalent to a small tiny leak. But I forgot, you should expect offenses to struggle in the playoffs. You are very vocal about not liking McDermott. This is just your way of putting all the blame on him for us not getting to the Super Bowl. Put ALL the blame on the defense.

So we have a poor offensive line and really bad WR's? How have we been among the league leaders in scoring? How have we outscored the Chiefs in the last 5 seasons, when we have had, how you're explaining it, one of the least talented offenses in the league? The Chiefs were LOADED with offensive talent and still behind us. So it's either the players that are better than what you believe or the coaches are better than what many believe.

NFL refused to allow Caleb Williams tax moves

Does it really? Once you retire from football and if you need money, you can't get a job? -
One of those 24 point games was the Chiefs AFCCG. We scored on a TD on a muffed punt recovered at the 3. The other offensive TD was 4 minutes left in the game when we were down by 38-15 and KC had their starters on the sidelines. That's about 40 minutes in between TD's and it was garbage time. That was a bad offensive performance. I think you can demand your offense to be at the same level as it was in the regular season. Look at the information below. Chiefs averaged around 23-24 ppg this season and playoffs. Last year, playoff offensive production was 38, 23, 27 - 29.3 ppg. 29.2 regular season. 2021, playoff offensive production was 42, 42, 24 - 36 ppg. 28.2 regular season. 2020, playoff production was 38, 22, 9 - 23 ppg. 29.6 regular season. 2019, playoff production was 51, 35, 20 - 35.3 ppg. 29.6 regular season average. Allen wasn't an elite passer in the Texans playoff game but we had one offensive TD all game. Didn't scored 3 points in the second half. That's struggling regardless if he's a second year QB or not. Especially since the Texans weren't very good on defense. At some point when you see the Texans climbing back, you got to respond and we didn't. But yes, the defense was also responsible for the 2nd half. Yes the weather was bad. But Diggs went 8 for 106 and a TD and John Brown went 8 for 62 yards. So we had some ability to move the ball in the air. I still don't think 1 offensive TD is good even in that weather. Not to mention the Ravens were able to rack up 340 yards of offense to our 220 and they also dominated TOP. The difference in that game was the Ravens were 0-3 in the redzone and one was a pick 6. Bengals game...bad offensive performance.

I was just about to say this. You will hear it on the board all the time that a player like Matakevich is a wasted roster spot. How has he lasted 9 years? He lasted in the NFL, longer than Stevie Johnson just to give a comparison. If we lose Josh Norman....is that a clear sign of tanking?

Okay. I will believe the best players and teams step up in the big games. You can believe the best teams and best players are supposed to struggle in the big games. I think you're just being stubborn with that statement because I actually don't believe you mean that. Because why then have you criticized McDermott's playoff tenure in Buffalo? The Bills are supposed to struggle right? My theory is BOTH units are responsible. I have said that more than once but you keep alluding that I only mean offense. I will say it again, BOTH units. If you think you are refuting my theory by saying the best teams are supposed struggle in the big games, then you haven't refuted my theory. Again, in 4 out of our 10 playoff games, we scored 15.6 ppg in those games. You seem to be arguing that offensive performance is fine because I guess....you're supposed to struggle? Seems to be.
-
The only thing I feel sorry for you is your statement "you're expected to struggle in the playoffs". Come on dude...you know that's not correct. Am I only arguing offense? When I said both units are responsible for us not getting to the Super Bowl, did you think "both" meant just one and that one was offense? What would 15 ppg rank us in those 4 games?
-
40% of the games the offense has struggled. That isn't sometimes. Our regular season offense is between 27 ppg and 32 ppg. In 40% of our playoff games, our offense was 15.6 ppg. That is not acceptable. You are expected to struggle in the playoffs? Sorry, that's a pretty ridiculous statement. The playoffs are supposed to be harder but that doesn't mean struggle. You are expected to struggle if you're not good. Why are such things as playoff disappointments if you're expected to struggle? If you're an elite team, you're expected to step up when the lights are the brightest but you're going to argue you're actually expected to struggle....come on. Both units are responsible for not getting us to the Super Bowl. For some reason, that is driving you crazy.

Yes, there is actually one but we're not allowed to use that game. We beat the Ravens 17-3 but that game has to be thrown out for this argument. I can say the same thing about other Bills bad performances too. It wouldn't have mattered what our defense did against the Bengals, the offense was doing nothing. It's both ways. It's not the talent, it's the consistency. Our offense has been talented enough but the production hasn't been consistent in the playoffs. Not enough where it's a one and done tournament. We are top 3 scoring offense in the league since 2020 and we did it without talent?
-
I don't think you're allowed to throw any game out for stats. Our first TD was a muffed punt that was recovered at the 3 yard line. Our next TD was 4 minutes left in the game when we were down 38-15 when the Chiefs entire starting defense was off the field. You thought our offense wasn't bad in that game? If we are going to throw out an entire game for whatever reason, can I throw out that muffed punt so the Bills actually scored 17 to skew the stats the other direction or something? Garbage time and having the ball at the 3 on a turnover isn't strong evidence our offense played well or even decent. Our TD's were 3 quarters apart from each other....that's not a good performance. If you are throwing out games to skew stats, using garbage time and comparing different AFCCG from different seasons, you're not going doing a very good job of proving it's a crazy take. This is the definition of moving goal posts. I have not said it's equivalent. I have said the defense has been bad. All I'm saying is the offense has laid too many eggs too. 40% of the playoff games, our offense has sucked.
-
Beasley was there in 2019. I know Allen was raw but 3 points in the second half.... I know it was windy in the Ravens game but I still don't think 10 points is a good performance. We put up 23 on them in the rain 2 seasons ago against just as good a defense. We played poorly all game outside of one drive. But should we expect a FG to tie a game when you have the ball deep into Chiefs territory with a chance to win it? That's a big moment that they didn't step up.
-
Are you really saying consistency isn't an issue with our offense in the playoffs? Since we average 26.9 ppg game, does that mean our offense played well against the Chiefs in the AFCCG, Ravens Divisional game, the Bengals divisional game or the Texans game? In those 4 games, our offense averaged 15.7 ppg. It's really a crazy take to me to say the offense has struggled too? That's 40% of our playoff games where our offense laid an egg. You're not winning it all with that lack of consistency in a one and done tournament where the minimum you have to win is 3 in a row. Do you really think that makes sense? 24.8 ppg in the post season making it equivalent to a regular season ranking? The level of competition is the same or something? Want to talk about a crazy take.

Yes the defense has had some bad games in the playoffs. But so has the offense. In 2019, 16-0 at half, scored 3 points in the entire second half against the Texans. The 2020 playoffs, 1 offensive TD against the Ravens. Laid an egg in the AFCCG again the following week. The 2021 playoffs - great The 2022 1 offensive TD against the Bengals. 2023....what were your expectations against the Chiefs in the divisional round? You were going to beat the mastermind offensive play caller Andy Reid and the greatest start to an NFL career in Patrick Mahomes with both starting linebackers out in Milano and Bernard, our back up in Spector also out and Christian Benford? Our LB's were our strength...both Milano and Benard were playing at All Pro levels. If the Chiefs were missing Nick Bolton, Trent McDuffie and Justin Reid....what would be your expectations for our offense in the AFC Divisional game It's not really fair to just criticize the defense. Both units haven't showed up consistently.
