I said this Last Year McDermott lacks the killer instinct.
Royale with Cheese replied to Rebel101's topic in The Stadium Wall
That's all I got? WTF? We literally scored on every single drive and played a perfect offensive game. In your mind, that doesn't count as a beat down and that's pretty crazy. "Let them believe they were gonna walk in there n walk out with a W?" JA is a major reason why the Dolphins stayed in the game. 3 turnovers, 1 for a TD and the other at the 18 yard line, the last one coming back to midfield. I'm down on McDermott right now too but I'm not going to exaggerate and judge him. "All his strength comes from his inner faith...god doesn't answer my prayers". Geezus. -
A lot of information here. What stands out to you guys? https://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/buf/2022_splits.htm https://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/buf/2022_opp_splits.htm

In your mind, the divisional round against the Pats last year was a close game or something? -

Would you resign Edmunds or a tackle?

I'm more concerned with the interior of our line. I would rather our weak point of the OL be the RT and not the interior. -
I think we don't allow our DL to just go after it. I think we try to be way too disciplined upfront. Jerry Hughes had 6.5 sacks in the last 2 years with Buffalo. He has 9 in his first year with the Texans. QB's are very comfortable playing us. Frazier always says that we need to affect the QB....our philosophy doesn't seem to be that. Our philosophy is keep everyone in front of you, except when we play the Dolphins. Let the DL unleash.

I'm also confused on the killer instinct part. -
I keep hearing the name Sean Payton and he would be run out of this town too lol. He had Drew Brees as his QB, a top 5 QB of all time. He lost to a 7-9 Saints team, Case Keenum, Nick Foles, Kirk Cousins, Jared Goff and Matt Hasselback in the playoffs. https://www.12up.com/posts/saints-drew-brees-sean-payton-playoff-chokers-vikings-01dxw0z1q5qe Let's start with the obvious. Head coach Sean Payton seems to be completely unable to function in the playoffs ever since the Saints' Super Bowl victory 10 years ago. Don't believe me? His postseason record is 4-6 since then, and his only convincing victory came against the Detroit Lions back in 2011, a 45-28 triumph against a team that hadn't made the postseason since 1999. Payton lost to a 7-9 Seahawks team in Seattle. He nearly lost to the hobbled Eagles in New Orleans last year. Do we have to bring up the Minnesota Miracle again? Plain and simple, this is bad head coaching. How is the team not prepared for these big moments? If we focus on Sunday's collapse, we can start with the playcalling. It was not Saints-esque. Michael Thomas wasn't targeted nearly enough against a depleted Vikings secondary. Alvin Kamara and Latavius Murray combined for 12 (!) rushes. Taysom Hill was easily the team's best offensive player. What happened to the high-octane Saints offense we watched all year average 28 points per game and 33 in their last three contests? They couldn't have come into the playoffs with more momentum. Payton strayed from the Saints' identity and tried to get too cute. We don't even need to get into the other blunders, like his inability to throw the challenge flag or use timeouts properly.

I don't care who runs any defense in this division if we give Allen time to throw and another decent target. He will carve up any defense.

Dawkins, Saffold and Knox added to Pro Bowl
Royale with Cheese replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
About time Saffold gets the recognition he deserves for his outstanding season. He won’t be back because we will not be able to afford him with the top dollar he will command in FA. Future Wall of Famer? -

Is it the drafting or the player development?

I think it's philosophy and scheme. If you're predictable, you're opponent has a significant advantage. -
He looks like a toddler taking his first steps, regains his balance and then turns around to look at dad.

I honestly don't think we are as bad upfront as our production indicates. I really think it's a philosophical problem. I think we are too predictable and protections can be schemed against us easily and QB's/WR's identify what the coverage is and that's why they can get it out quickly. It's like we are a Madden defense on easy mode. Zach Wilson is a dumb QB, he can't process ***** and he looked effective against us.

The Bills have a Tre White problem
Royale with Cheese replied to Back2Buff's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah INT's to Linebackers don't count....we don't drop them in coverage or anything. It also wasn't a sailed ball lol. It was a one on one fade that White played well and intercepted it. I find it amazing that Mac Jones could do whatever he wanted against our DB's but then decided to sail a ball to get picked off. Why would he do that? -

If Mac Jones could do whatever he wanted against our DB's, why did he make the decision to throw 3 INT's? -
Do you still trust the defense at all?
Royale with Cheese replied to Sharky7337's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't think these guys are terrible but something is wrong. There is talent. They weren't this bad last year. I like and respect Frazier but it seems we are way too easy to figure out. We don't get home on the blitz. QB's know where to go immediately after the snap. The only game Zack Wilson looked decent in was against us. Tua lit us up after being embarrassed the week before. I think Tyler Boyd said we're "basic" on defense. That's a gigantic problem. -

I do when Von comes back. Von and Rosseau are a good DE duo. The upsetting part is that it seems Rosseau production drops a level without Von. Not just Rosseau, the entire line. We expected to have a fall back without Von but this line after he was hurt, was worse than last years and that's very disappointing. As long as Von is healthy, I'm comfortable with that. -
This offense was doomed from the start
Royale with Cheese replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall
I would give up our first rounder for Hopkins. Beane can figure out how to make room in the cap. It's like he heard a whistle or something and stopped playing. Your hearing gets weird as you age....you start hearing things. -
