Week 2 Bills vs Raiders Home Opener!
Royale with Cheese replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
Patrick Hammer is on now and said the rain is coming after the game. It will be gray skies, not ruling out a light sprinkle during the game but it looks like it will all hold off until after the game. Go off offense. Alleviate our anxiety so we stop bitching at each other on this message board. -
Do You Still "TRUST THE PROCESS"?
Royale with Cheese replied to HIT BY SPIKES's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Bills didn't create the slogan either. It's been around for years, they just wanted to use it. But I am leaning towards Gunner's definition of The Process. At least that's how I view it. -

I think you're taking this slogan too literal. Yeah, the Steelers are a good example of it but they're also an anomaly. They've only had 3 coaches in NFL history? Yeah they've been competitive in the last several years but we've been more competitive. -

It seemed to relate because you brought up the draft picks and how you won't accept that draft picks have been "totally" missed. That's why I put up the data. Misses absolutely happen. -

Do you feel that regardless of how they perform in camp or practice, it doesn't matter and they should play regardless? If Benford in camp completely outplays Elam, Elam should start because he was a higher draft pick? -

Allen was a top 7 pick right? After Allen, how many top 7 NFL offensive talent have we drafted? Not saying you, but I've had discussions with people about the Bengals draft and some arguments were "The Bengals got Chase for Burrow and we didn't do that for Allen." Well, Chase was a top 5 pick. That year, we picked I think in the mid 20's. The Chiefs, since they have won 2 Super Bowls in the last 4 years. In the last few drafts, what stand out offensive player have they drafted? Sky Moore? Mecole Hardman? Not saying the Chiefs suck at drafting but you're not going to have as many big hits if you're drafting the the 20's and 30's all the time. -

Yes we've had players that didn't work out just like every team. We also have had picks that work out but those are overlooked because people (not saying you) want to hold onto the failures. If you can get two starters out of each draft class, you did pretty well. If you get 3, you had a great draft. https://www.dailynorseman.com/2022/4/26/23042105/nfl-draft-pick-bust-rate-remains-very-high The graph above breaks down the percentage of players, broken down by round in which they were drafted (R1, R2, etc.) and whether they signed a second contract with the team that drafted them (same team) or a different team. The results aren’t particularly good- even among first-round draft picks. For example, among first-round draft picks selected between 2010-2017, only 31% signed a second contract with the team that drafted them. Now that doesn’t mean that 69% of first-round draft picks during that period were total busts, but in most cases it meant the team didn’t value them enough to extend them. Comparing them to the previous study, these would be players in the average or worse categories, but some in the ‘good’ category as well. -

https://www.pff.com/nfl/players/david-quessenberry/7957?season=2021 David Quessenberry was essentially a top 10 tackle in 2021?? -
Of course. Which is why I said starting Sunday.

Hurts is not Allen’s level. Can’t wait to Allen starts showing it on the field starting this Sunday.
-
Yeah he's done. The Broncos are stuck with him for the next two years I believe where the dead cap isn't bad. I wonder if going forward, you won't see teams giving up so much for a veteran QB. It has to stick in the back of their mind, why that team is willing to trade that guy? Franchise QB's are so hard to come by.

Do the Bills need a " Quarterback Whisperer?"

He needs his swagger back on the field. -
Interesting ESPN article (re Allen): death of the deep ball

If you have a WR combo where one runs a fly and the inside WR runs a post...the safety has to pick one. Lee Evans used to get beat cover 2 over the top with his speed. -
I have mild sleep apnea and I sleep with a breath right nose strip every night. It has helped tremendously and I feel much better. I was tired a lot before. I can't do the mouth guard or CPAP...it's just too uncomfortable. Try the nose strips. I get extra strength because I'm a tough guy. https://www.amazon.com/Breathe-Right-Strips-Snoring-Drug-Free/dp/B002GU5YCG/ref=pd_lpo_sccl_1/140-4953164-2321232?pd_rd_w=fuZ6g&content-id=amzn1.sym.116f529c-aa4d-4763-b2b6-4d614ec7dc00&pf_rd_p=116f529c-aa4d-4763-b2b6-4d614ec7dc00&pf_rd_r=TV20NGAX3XFNXYABTR8E&pd_rd_wg=nkTAJ&pd_rd_r=f8140a6b-5ede-4270-a43e-7a0f5f410556&pd_rd_i=B002GU5YCG&psc=1

Do you guys think that the energy might not be as high with the crowd in pregame because of the MNF game? -
Week 2, Rayduhs v. Bills - Predict the Score
Royale with Cheese replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't think Dorsey/McDermott go conservative with Josh. I think they have him get the ball out quickly like early in the Jets game. Take their chances downfield once the Raiders starting creeping up. I expect a lot of play action. I mean you have to. This isn't the Jets defense. I expect Allen to see more windows. I think you will see Cook get 100 on the ground. Bills 33 Raiders 16 -
You can't be terrible everywhere accept two positions and be top scoring team. That's my point. Yes, when you have that pair you score. What if you have more than 1? Lets say 3 like the Bengals? Or a Chiefs team that has the greatest tight end, best play caller and great offensive line? It's talked about a lot that these teams are loaded with offensive talent and much better coaching. If that's the case, how are we just behind the Chiefs last year in scoring and well above the Bengals? It's either Allen/Diggs are a significantly better combo than what Burrow has or on par with what the Chiefs have....or maybe Dorsey isn't as bad as everyone makes him out to be. I'm not a huge fan Dorsey and have my gripes but last year with only one weapon, a terrible offensive line, no #2 WR, had to get Beasley/Brown off the street and no elite level RB....but we were ahead of the Bengals and just below the Chiefs in scoring. I think a terrible OC with the ingredients Dorsey had last year, the offense would have been outside the top 10...probably top 15. And we did have our struggles with Dabol as well...he was hated on here. We were 7-6 at one point in 2021, looked terrible opening day against the Steelers and got humiliated by the Jags. Our offense was clunkier last year with Dorsey, I absolutely can admit that. But somehow we kept our production up. I'm not a Dorsey apologist, I'm just not hard on him like most here are. This is a big year for him to see if he improve our consistency and one game into the season, I'm not blaming him at all for MNF. Lets give him more time to see what he can do this year, especially if his QB can stop his bone headed turnovers. If we are struggling again next week, then I will start getting a little concerned. But not after last week. If we struggle against the Raiders, I will start getting the bad feeling.
