While the offense may have broke out to some degree when Cooper got added , it does not mean that is the cause. The guy played 30-50% of snaps and 239 total snaps and had 20 receptions.
If people are expecting a fast receiver to have a dramatic change is wishful thinking. If they trade for a guy he will play 40% of snaps. Scheme and Josh adjusting to what defenses are doing are the things that will fix the passing game.
More than one thing can be true at once
1. We don’t have great receivers
2. Allen is off his game.
3. The passing game scheme is not ideal
the receivers thing gets overblown IMO and while more talent is better and I acknowledge the lack of high level talent but the passing game can be effective with who they have. The key is two and three which does not require making new rare earth people appear.
He was super shaky when he signed too. I. Believe they had performance issues at K or had an injury and he sucked at first. Seemed like his career was heading for the end but he turned it around big time.
I know most think it’s just receivers but Josh is off too me. He is not getting away from the rush and defenses are plastering when he rolls. No throws to RBs. He gives up stuff and then nothing materializes. It will come around….
Because their philosophy is about lots of personnel groupings. And they want to play ball control. Meyers is better than what they have? Not really convinced. Yes he has more volume over the last few years but he is not a world beater.
As usual, good work by Joe. For me a WR is not urgent and not because I think they can’t improve their it’s more because of how they play. Any wr will get little snap counts and won’t move the needle. They need more help at safety and CB.
Yeah I have watched since the summer. I needed three and the pickings are slim. I pulled the trigger yesterday. Upper deck corner row 7 for $300 after all fees. Was clearly a good deal for three. I wanted to wait but others were getting antsy.
It’s nuance. You challenge progress to the line of gain not the exact spot. So if you don’t change yardage to the line of gain you lose the challenge. The spot could move a few inches on many plays.
