  1. Mods should consider revising the title of this thread to something like "Chris Jones signs with KC 5yr, $158.75M, $95M guaranteed". People seem to be confusing the guaranteed with the total value. His AAV is 31.75M
  2. They can easily do both...get younger and sign DQ. They need numbers, 4-5 at that position, right now they have 1. I think signing DQ to a modest deal (6M per year is the projection if that is true) makes sense as does drafting one plus another in FA or the draft.
  3. First, I listen to Marino's podcast and I enjoy it because he is pragmatic and brings reasonable arguments, he is not always right but his thought process is good. What Marino said is what would need to happen. Knox is a restructure, not an extension. Not sure what you mean by same outcome without extending, guessing you mean restructure but that is what he is proposing for Knox already. Dawkins is an extension and that is needed to lower his cap number, he is in the last year of his deal.. He already has void money next year so they could add to that but they could extend him to keep him on the team after this year. I hate the Zeke signing, he is done, I would rather keep the 6th or 7th round pick.
  4. Don’t love restructuring g Knox it just makes that contract even worse down the road. I like the guy but his contract sucks. hunter henry just signed 3 years and 27 million
  5. It says highest AAV for a Steve. 95M guaranteed is a huge number.
  6. The big thing most people miss is that you trade contracts as much as the players. Trading for a 4 million dollar guy is one thing, trading for a 14 million dollar guy that needs 18-20M is something else.
  7. probably not agreeing on terms at the moment is my read. So Dawkins is currently 15th in AAV at $14.575M. Next year is his last on his current deal. What do people see for his extension, years, guaranteed and AAV? I think his agent will be looking to get him to top 5 given his string of Pro Bowl's, that would put him around $20M AAV. Unless he is willing to sign for something closer to where he is now, I am not doing a new deal with him but he is tough, he has missed one game in 7 years but you dont pay for the past, you pay for the future. What are people willing to sign up for? I think I would let this year play out unless he was willing to take less than he is reasonably able to demand. https://overthecap.com/position/left-tackle
  8. Injuries are a part of the NFL, have the Bills had more than their fair share of injuries? Actually the answer is NO, we all want all guys to play all games but unfortunately that does not happen. It has been well documented the Bills go to great lengths to study injuries and prevent certain types, especially soft tissue injuries. They are also more conservative than other teams in players coming back from such injuries. For instance, in 2022, the DT's had a lot of calf strains, they specifically changed some things practice/stretching wise to try and deal with that. NFL football is physical, ACL's happen, Achilles happen, broken bones happen, all teams deal with injuries. The Bills have the current longest stretch of their QB and #1 receiver playing every game. My point is not that injuries dont happen to the Bills, rather you have to compare to the rest of the league to see if you are doing better or worse. Every fan of 31 teams can point to injuries and say that is why but that is mostly excuse making. Saying the Bills have had an epidemic of NFL injuries the last 3 years is just not factual.
  9. ok, can you inform Beane and the Saints? I am pretty sure you dont know what Andrew Brandt means when he said that.
  10. Cause next years cap matters too. How much money do you want in next years cap for guys not on the team?
  11. Next year is the only year on the co tract so there ar eno years to average that down. Other than void years which they have already done. Void years is dead money that counts in the future for a guy you have today.
  12. That was 23 the chart i posted was for 22. I just think the injuries are overblown. Because tte white was injured we end up with a hetter player. Lineal Joseph helped fill the void at dr before jones came back. Milano was a huge loss. But when someone throws around “epidemic” when it is not true it needs to be questioned. The offense was super healthy last year, priobably as good as you could hope as you spelled out.
  13. confirmed another case of someones gut feeling/ excuses with no useful factual information. For instance, for 2022 when the Bills were supposedly had an epidemic of injuries (your words)...the Bills were actually had among the least games lost due to injury. https://twitter.com/ManGamesLostNFL/status/1613667261696319489/photo/1
  14. I believe there will be changes to schedules in future years for extreme hot and cold weather. Some will complain that it shows a weakening of the populous but public policy and group think changes things over time, it is just how it is.
  15. They're you go again.
  16. Can you post some data that backs this up? I believe this to be a completely false statement.

  18. So no extension for Douglass, do you guys think that is what the Bill wanted, what Douglass wanted? I assume they tried an extension but could not agree on numbers so they reduced his cap by adding void years. I was hoping for an extension guess. Also, can someone explain his void money, same thing existed with Leanard Floyd. SPotrac has restructure bonus as 0.812.5M for the next three years but a cap hit of all of that, 2.4375M next year. I think if he is not signed longer term, they take the entire void hit next year? I don't understand why they show additional void money in 26 and 27. I am nearly positive it is not all additive. Is that to average down the salary to bonus conversion or something? https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/rasul-douglas-21841/
  19. I think Jones and Lawson will be back. Jones may not get what he wants but maybe will get a 2 year deal, I can see another 1 year deal for Lawson.
  20. Is he bad for cultuer if Jeff Duncan is in fact a hoe?
