  1. Not sure where they are cap wise but I don’t want to restructure Diggs. I think they can gain some more space by extending Johnson and. Maybe a couple other minor moves. I don’t expect much more but as FA goes I expect low end wr safety dt de and ol signings. Kinda like Rapp and puna last year type deals.
  2. Good contract for a. Rb. Where is the Beamer can’t draft third rounders guy.
  3. I like Mack.....the Chargers are nuts with those two contracts
  4. I give them credit, the easy thing would be to bend over and give him the bag. He is a good QB, but they recognized what he is not and were willing to move on.
  5. My guess was 3 years 60M, underestimated a little, I will try to do better.
  6. Agree with the premise here, this is why we should not give big dollars to good players like Knox and Gabe Davis.
  7. Its the nature of the contractual situation, 5M for Pitt benefits the Broncos cap by 5M, why would the Steelers or RUss want to do that.
  8. It might end up being a 13th rounder...........dont count your chickens buddy
  9. The team is not cap compliant yet, like 12M over and has a bunch of holes to fill on the DL and safety and WR and backup OL. They need money for the draft class, practice squad and replacement guys due to injuries in season. I don’t see them skipping the JA restructure but they can choose to do a full restructure or partial. Also the bigger thing for them to avoid is restructuring. Diggs. They need to give themselves a way out IMO if needed (not advocating for getting out). So just not doing that is a win for this off-season IMO. Bottom line is beane did some good work but a lot of work still to go. We saw conservative Beane last week. This week is likely to be drunken sailer Beane.
  10. Mods should consider revising the title of this thread to something like "Chris Jones signs with KC 5yr, $158.75M, $95M guaranteed". People seem to be confusing the guaranteed with the total value. His AAV is 31.75M
  11. They can easily do both...get younger and sign DQ. They need numbers, 4-5 at that position, right now they have 1. I think signing DQ to a modest deal (6M per year is the projection if that is true) makes sense as does drafting one plus another in FA or the draft.
  12. First, I listen to Marino's podcast and I enjoy it because he is pragmatic and brings reasonable arguments, he is not always right but his thought process is good. What Marino said is what would need to happen. Knox is a restructure, not an extension. Not sure what you mean by same outcome without extending, guessing you mean restructure but that is what he is proposing for Knox already. Dawkins is an extension and that is needed to lower his cap number, he is in the last year of his deal.. He already has void money next year so they could add to that but they could extend him to keep him on the team after this year. I hate the Zeke signing, he is done, I would rather keep the 6th or 7th round pick.
  13. Don’t love restructuring g Knox it just makes that contract even worse down the road. I like the guy but his contract sucks. hunter henry just signed 3 years and 27 million
  14. It says highest AAV for a Steve. 95M guaranteed is a huge number.
  15. The big thing most people miss is that you trade contracts as much as the players. Trading for a 4 million dollar guy is one thing, trading for a 14 million dollar guy that needs 18-20M is something else.
