For starters, Wilson and Brady are definitely tier 1. Watson would be as well. Lamar is in the fringe tier with Stafford, Herbert and Burrow. Then comes Dak, Cousins and everyone else. Mine is far from exact, but I can see it in my head, if that makes sense? Lumping Stafford with Dak after the Super Bowl victory is disrespectful. Dak has had some talented rosters that he's done nothing with.

5 years is a bit long, but a bird in the hand...especially on a team with a QB and system he's comfortable with. I totally get not wanting to take the risk.

49ers are a damn good team. Cousins hits Sanders down the seam in that pivotal Super Bowl miss.

That's the entire tier of QBs below the elite ones. They need that extra something, whether it be a playmaker on offense (like a Deebo) or a stout defense to win a chip. They aren't going to carry you there.

Inconsistent as Cousins may be, Carr is worse. I think Cousins could get a team like the 49ers over the hump, where Garoppolo cannot.
