  1. Not trying to be funny but the local Dick's Sporting Goods had all Mets apparel 1/2 off. I'm in my 30's and two seasons come to mind that rival this: End of 2004- The veterans on that club pretty much all gave up on Art Howe. The inmates were running the asylum then. It got leaked Howe was being fired before the season was ending. I had to listen to him breakdown on the Mike & Maddog show and hang up. That was rough. 2009- A seriously injury plagued and underachieving year. Had to endure a Phillies/Yankees World Series as well. I'm sort of the rare Mets fan that really has nothing against Philly but what made it worse that year was Pedro Martinez joining their club in a pathetic attempt to get a ring. What makes this SCARIER though is VW is under a 4 year contract. At least per Mike Francesa. God knows what more damage he can create.
  2. Alonso will be in the home run derby. Our one source of pride beside McNeil. #28 tonight
  3. The funniest part then was the bus driver was really only pissed these kids removed the tape of the seats
  4. Reminds me of high school where someone stole someone copy and taped all the pictures to the windows. Kids just aren’t like that nowadays
  5. Many times in my next lifetime I wish to come back as a state employee. For your last sentence alone
  6. While I agree it’s stupid I must say I’ve learned from reading at home than in a classroom.
  7. I'm pretty sure he's a closet Mets fan. Apologies to McNeil and Alonso but you all stink!
  8. This. After Andy Dalton’s pass that helped break the drought many were calling him a Bills legend. All relative
  9. When you honestly thought the Cano trade couldn’t look worse I just saw this about Anthony Swarzak https://www.ajc.com/blog/mark-bradley/the-braves-midyear-mvp-anthony-swarzak/hMKFv2usAizcOGieTOCz4J/ He has a 0.58 ERA in his last 15 innings with the Braves. Would be the #1 guy in the bullpen pitching like he is
  10. I mean not trying to be rude but week 17 can very well just give us an advantage of not picking higher in the draft and nothing else. The Jets game to me is 50/50. Plus I think Rich Kotite might have been the last coach over there that didn’t win on his 1st game coaching.
  11. Breaking the drought pretty much bought him three years to do his thing or trust the process so to speak. Hes not going to get fired this year but I do think he’s under the microscope a little more this year vs last
  12. I actually woke up this morning feeling awful for Mickey. I thought his tantrum might have actually gotten him some respect but it looks like it’s made things worse. Between what looked like a forced apology and everyone from Terry Collins chiming in to criticize. Yes as a manager his decision making is all fair game for criticism. However I’ve always looked at him as a decent guy who earned the right to have one tantrum like that and get the benefit of the doubt. I say just do him a favor at this point fire him while preserving his dignity. Put him out of his misery.
  13. This sums up the present state of affairs
  14. Who didn’t see a Bruce homer coming when he stepped up to the plate. This very well may have been the Mets worst day this year when all is said and done. I’m counting all the off field distractions as well.
  15. Agree with you guys I say good for Mickey. There’s only so much a man can take Especially if he’s being forced to go with the flow on some of these recent decisions. Btw, anyone now what this pitching strategist job responsibilities are?
  16. I mean is anyone really surprised at the result today when we cling to a 1 run lead late in games? Have a bad feeling the team is going to be just want the Phillies want to see to break out of their present funk
  17. Yes NYC isn't exactly big on bathrooms especially in their parks Ive been too.
  18. Ding Ding Ding. Yep https://sabr.org/bioproj/person/86051cf5
  19. Nope. Think early 90's teams
  20. I had to look it up just now but he was only a Met
  21. It’s the guy in the red shirt. Can give you a hint if you want
  22. Something like this below? Replacing Lebanese with Greek.
  23. Well I said in the sentence before sports reporting went downhill. I was trying to suggest these networks feel the need to resort to that sort of nonsense to attract viewers.
  24. Let see how good you guys are with former Mets. The guy on the left in the photo below is an ex Met. He’s a friend of a co worker whose a friend... If I told you his name you’d probably remember him.
  25. I think once the internet happened a lot of sports reporting went downhill ex: SportsCenter. It’s like these networks had to figure out ways to make the reporting entertaining since you can get the scores anywhere. It keeps getting worse to the point it’s like watching cartoons with sports reporting but imo that’s where it started
