THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - Get the Job Done, Keep Learning
yungmack replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Excellent analysis. If the Bills can straighten out ST - and they must - and replicate the four quarter/no let up approach they managed against Miami, I don't think any of the last 6 games are definite losses. -
Postgame thread: Week 11 Bills defeat Dolphins!

If ST had been even mediocre, this would have been the most complete all around game the Bills played this year. -
3-3 over next six games and we make playoffs

Good chance they beat Pokes and Birds, lose to Jets and Steelers. -
2020 Draft Position and Potential Targets
yungmack replied to STL-Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Those days are fading faster than Kershaw in the playoffs. Rookies are now expected to immediately contribute. It's all about over paying for supposed franchise QBs and a few key players, and filling out the roster with loads of players on their rookie contracts, or cheap veterans. -
2020 Draft Position and Potential Targets

I'd draft the entire SC receiving corps. And I'm calling dibs right now on Slovis in the 2022 draft. -
Time to cut him loose. There are QBs all over college programs who are much more plug and play than Josh. Just look at the NFL this year with Jackson running wild, Mason Rudolph/Minshew/Kyle Allen from way down in the draft outplaying Josh. Or the Bills could spend another couple of years hoping Josh becomes this fast-thinking, fantastically accurate QB he's never shown signs of being. Me, I prefer a more hard-nosed approach rather than magical thinking.

2020 Draft Position and Potential Targets

Draft a WR with the #1 overall? Seriously? And who's throwing to this paragon? The pull-it-out-your-ass wins are over and I suspect the Bills to be drafting between 8-12. First overall pick has to be a QB. -
A bit of future scouting - Browns @ Broncos

Haven't watched much Denver but your analysis of the Browns is what I'm seeing. Wish the Bills brought you in as a consultant. -
Observations from my first home game

The most important question to me: Why did you pick the name Bruce Vilanch? -
Jason Whitlock may be on to something..

I have to ask, Which faith? Even among Christians there are deep and profound differences about what "Christian" means. For example, the different rules and dogmas about divorce, homosexuality and even having ordained clergy. -

I am always suspicious of people who wear their religious beliefs on their sleeve. The 2 most successful coaches in Bills history were Lou Saban, a strong Catholic who never made an issue of it, and Marv Levy, a Jew who never made an issue of it. -
I, for one, have never been obsessed with the number of 300+ yd games a QB racks up. After all, the overwhelming number of games fall in the 200 yd range week after week, year after year. However, what I want is an offense that can hit over 300 yds when they must in order to win. So far, it appears this remains far beyond the Bills and their sputtering, limpy offense. Whether that's on Allen, Daboll or something else I don't know, but that inability to run on all 8 cylinders and impose its will on opponents when needed is the main thing keeping the Bills from that upper echelon. The very real question for ownership & management is whether or not you "dance with the one that brung ya" or if changes must be made at QB, OC, HC, GM to finally move into elite status. I think by the end of this season this will be much clearer.

Run Defense - Interesting Stats/Observations
yungmack replied to mjt328's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The best way to eliminate the damage done by the run game is to take away that run game, and the best way to take away the run game is to get a quick lead and keep adding to it. In other words, until the Bills O can figure out how to score early in the game and to be a threat on every possession, the D is going to have the ball run down its throat.
