  1. That sounds great, and a great way to get more people to the game. I went to a bunch of A's games in the early 90s when I lived in Berkeley. Just took BART and got super cheap seats. Had a good time.
  2. A good friend from Cincinnati was swept up in that rush. I met him working at the Grand Canyon in 83, we would travel to Dead shows together. He was an all state rb at Moeller High in Cinci., a burly dude. He told me he was lifted off his feet outside holding his ticket in the air and his feet didn't touch the ground again until he was inside the building and past the turnstiles. He said he thought he was gonna pop he got squeezed so hard. Scary. I worked crowd control outside the Rich stadium Who and Clash show in 82. They liked my style and gave me a bullhorn and told me I could party a little with the people to do my job. There were a couple thousand wasted people in line long before the gates opened, a lot of Canadians and punk rockers. I told everyone with my bullhorn "remember Cincinnati, someone could get hurt and it might be you. We're all here to have a good time, lets have a good time and look out for each other". We all had fun and it went smoothly.
  3. I have seen so many its hard to pick a favorite. As a kid in Buffalo two shows really stood out. The Grateful Dead at the Aud in 77 and The Who at Rich stadium with The Clash in 82 just before I left for the west coast. Saw a ton of great shows at the Aud, Jethro Tull, Santana, the Kinks, Frank Zappa, Yes, Moody Blues, Fleetwood Mac, the Eagles etc. and the Summerfest stadium shows like Elton John, Blue Oyster Cult with Skynyrd, Frampton, the Stones, etc. I remember a crazy Tubes show at the Century theater I think, and a great J Geils Band show at the Kleinhans(I think) with so many gorgeous girls dressed up and dancing in the aisles, before a lot of their cheesy hits, and then a lot of other shows I can't recall at the moment. Since then some great shows I have seen include Pink Floyd, the Allman bros around 10 times, Jerry Garcia Band (Jerry alive of course) around 50 times, over 300 Grateful Dead shows with Garcia, Jerry and Grisman 6 times, Stevie Ray Vaughn twice (the last time was at Deer Valley Utah a couple weeks before he died with Taj Mahal opening, Stevie just got out of rehab and was on fire), Jimmy Cliff, John Lee Hooker, BB King, Elvis Costello, Bob Dylan over 10 times, Van Morrison 5 times, had a food booth on the Horde fest tour in 96 with Rusted Root, Blues Traveler, Natalie Merchant, Kravitz, Dave Matthews, that was a lot of fun; Santana over 10 times always a great show, Tom Petty a few, Dave Matthews band over 25 times because my wife loves them and they always let us in the front pit at the Gorge Amphitheater , David Lindley around 8 times who I fed mushrooms to backstage in 85 at a Park City Utah club, Widespread Panic, Phish, String Cheese a bunch because I know Mike Travis, Jefferson Airplane reunion Golden Gate park the day John Denver died Grace told us from the stage, Hot Tuna a few times, the last time I got to sit on the edge of the stage right next to Jorma at the old Sweetwater in Mill Valley, went to Telluride bluegrass fest a few times late 80s and that was always an incredible show. Too many other good shows to list. Sorry about the lengthy response. Bad shows I have seen are less numerous but one really stands out, my wife dragged me to an Alanis Morrisette show in Portland Or. and she was awful, sheer torture and my wife agreed. Bucket list the Talking Heads, Dire Straits, and Peter Gabriel immediately come to mind. Led Zeppelin is the show I will never get to see, had tickets to the Rich stadium show in the 70s that got canceled when one of their kids died. Would have loved to see Bob Marley and the Wailers or the Beatles back in the day as well, without all the screaming though. Once again sorry for the length but it was great to relive all that in my memory.
  4. deGrom homers!!!?
  5. Collegiate looking
  6. Mead is gonna go crazy over this one.
  7. Looking at the talent in the top 50 I would much rather trade down than up. Trading down you could get 3 picks in the top 50, that could get you one of the top def lineman, OT, and wide receivers. Trading up you only get Williams. The Bills have too many needs still to give away 2nd and 3rd round picks. Wouldn't mind them trading up later in the draft to snag somebody still available that they are targeting.
  8. Mets looking for the sweep on the road tomorrow with deGrom. Nice start to the season so far, I like the team energy. Go Mets!!
  9. https://www.nfl.com/prospects/dillon-mitchell?id=32194d49-5422-8980-b5b6-45b020209f4e https://www.rotoworld.com/college-football/nfl-draft/player/39033/dillon-mitchell Met my wife 23 years ago at the U of O and still live there part of the year. We go to a few games every year and watch all the other games on TV. I hadn't heard about those work ethic questions either before reading some scouting reports. I think he will be drafted around the 5th or 6th round personally but I have seen late round to undrafted projections on a couple draft sites. I do think another year with Herbert might have been a good idea for him but maybe he was concerned his target share could change. He is fun to watch and I would be psyched if the Bills get him.
  10. Oregon jr. wr Dillon Mitchell. Can play slot or outside, dangerous after the catch. May not be a process guy as his maturity and work ethic have been questioned. Was hoping he would come back for one more year with Herbert and I think it would have improved his stock. Probably a late round or undrafted prospect at this point but the talent is definitely there imo.
  11. Wouldn't mind trading down but those wouldn't be my picks. Also it looks like they traded down and didn't get another 2nd? What was the trade?
  12. My wife makes the dogs food once or twice a week. A roasted chicken mixed with oatmeal and brown rice, then a blender with some veggies, apple, kelp powder mixed in. No salty fatty foods like bacon or cold cuts, no sugar or white flour products. Left him at the mother in laws house for Xmas about 6 years ago and she almost killed him. Fed him salty split pea and ham soup, white bread and gave him a ham bone. His colon became obstructed and completely impacted. A lousy local vet had him for two days then told us he was gonna die. Luckily Oregon St Univ saved his life. He was 1 when we adopted him and will be 14 in June. Happy to hear she is doing better, that's awesome! My friend had a rescued racing greyhound, very sweet and soulful dog.
  13. So sorry for your loss ODB, my little buddy Harry is almost 14 and I feel crushed whenever I think about losing him. He is still active and happy but I know it is inevitable. I can only imagine what you are going through. Sucks.
  14. Jonah Williams, don't expect him to be a good pro tackle. Hope the Bills stay away.
  15. At least the tank is going pretty well, if the Red Wings hold on against the Bruins the Sabres are in 4th.
  16. What a game!!!
  17. They did play the 8th hardest ooc schedule in the country and beat Duke. They destroyed a very hot Fl St team in the 16, but I also would not like to see them gifted a 1 seed coming from such a weak conference. There is no denying they are perennially a very good team though.
  18. Purdue has looked good in every game so far.
  19. they didn't make enough shots?
  20. My first thought when I heard the 'faith' mention was that he had a moral problem working for Kraft.

  22. https://vetgirlontherun.com/treatment-hypernatremia-dogs-cats-vetgirl-veterinary-continuing-education-blog/ Has the vet mentioned hypernatremia?
  23. Like Buffalo Gal said, If there is a Univ nearby that has a veterinary school I would call them. 6 years ago a lousy vet charged us a lot of money and then told me after a couple days to take him home, they had done what they could and he would die. I contacted the Oregon St Univ vet school. They told me to bring him in. An amazing veterinarian and a team of students had him for an afternoon and fixed him up. He will be 14 in June and still acts young. Good Luck, I wish you the best.
