more liberal? well at least someone still thinks that. im not saying anything on the supreme court ruling. i think it was the correct decision. i just know there are extremes on both sides of this issue that are going to activate now. maybe your to young to remember the doctors who performed abortions getting gunned down. multiple times. not long ago anti abortion was FAR more radical. then you hear how governors want to prosecute women just for seeking a abortion. databases. call on your neighbor. even if they leave the state, prosecute. not sure how that is anything less then north korea ideology. just as crazy as people demanding abortions at will regardless of late development that present no danger to the mother and of coarse we now have centers that literally only provide care to poor women who want to keep there baby getting firebombed. there's a middle ground most people agree on but that will never be presented. instead the media will cherry pick the extreme views, pull a guy with 100 likes off twitter as a representative. show idiot celebrities who know nothing. presented daily like its a majority view, like they do with every issue. people getting their worldview from a screen will cont to think there is no middle and polarize more thinking everyone that doesn't 100% agree MUST be one of the 2 extremes, thus making them dig in deeper to a side. its a sick game being played. I'd much rather common sense rational people do their own civil war on the media that is pushing this nonsense. when i talk to REAL people, its not like the way its portrayed. i know relatively few people in the large sceme of things. maybe I'm wrong. i hope not.

2028? those of us with common sense really need everyone on the extreme edges to get it over with. pick a state and choice of weopon to meet on a field and get to the slaughtering so we can have rational descussion on these topics. believe it or not most people dont think when a sperm touches a egg its instantly a precious soul and we certainly don't want fully formed fetuses chopped into bits. we can't figure out a good common sense answer with all this noise. so please take the hatred out however you feel is necessary on each other and make sure the gov officials pushing it are in the front. we got important things to fix.

been watching this guy for a bit. not sure if hes a huckster or what but he certainly seems to pull up alot of very old news articles and scientific studies/graphs. i live in buffalo and see a diff in the winters from when i was a kid but also know that gov seem a more concerned with human behavior which is relatively small contributor and less involved in changing the fundamental of industrial contributions. simply buying and selling carbon coupons like baseball cards while allowing foreign powers to ignore it all which everyone agrees will negate ANYTHING we do. in the end covid really destroyed any confidence the scientific consensus narrative has. of coarse leftists that went full steam authoritarian don't blink a eye at the economic damage they authorized. not sure where they can say anything on these types of topics and expect credibility. makes you wonder if opposition has been silenced for a long time. i think we should stop our economy from collapsing first any means necessary. its kind of important too. check him out and see what you think. has a library of vids full of "misinformation" -

oil prices are based on futures. if you have a administration openly saying they are going to end fossil fuels and FUTURE pipelines ect then it be a good guess that supply will be dwindling in the FUTURE. less supply with zero infrastructure to actually change to anything else. LOW supply SAME DEMAND or higher. where do you think that sends prices in the looking to the FUTURE. at the same time if I'm a oil company, how much money am i going to invest in something I'm being activley told will be wiped out? lets pour billions into new drilling and processing for a president who is looking to destroy our industry? stupid tactics to begin with imo. hey fossil fuel im declaring war on you without a backup plan besides "be rich and switch everything to electric". im sure oil exects are gouging, makes the president look bad and makes people desperate to elect people that will let them have a free for all. -

i think your confusing classical liberalism with corporate democrat cronyism. I'm not sure how MLK ( content of character ) or looking at roots of economic problems that would solve issues long term by addressing the entities involved but also require people to invest in self responsibility are simplistic or outdated in the 21st century? i sure hope not. at some point progressives are going to run out of people that are at fault for the problems in this world. progressive solutions are the ones that sound simplistic to me. they do little to address the longterm damage that accumulates after the self gratification "virtue signaling" is over. you cant "tax the rich" without knowing how that doesnt become higher prices and effects the poor or plants just relocating taking jobs. you cant implement green deals with zero infrastructure and high cost again, crushing the poor. you cant give free college without deterioration of degrees obtained. you cant give free healthcare when most budgets are blown out and can barely pay basic medicare. open boarders! when people are struggling for food housing and work lets let millions more compete! a mexican born republican just won south texas county so a veiled racism on something like boarder security must be spreading to people that progressives are protecting..or maybe looking out for american citizens first and foremost is not what some make it out to be at all and the media has been gaslighting people on a variety of topics. now these are obviously quick observations but i don't think i am unfair on the basic generalization of what progressives are essentially saying. give a demand..well is it done yet!? worker rights, better pay, equality, improving support programs that help people get on their feet are all things traditional liberals have always supported. progressives are just the extreme version that is more ideological then principle based when it comes to the laissez-faire capitalism of the right i agree as corporations are just as dangerous as any gov if left unchecked but i also see a major contradiction. the government is the most corrupt corporation in the world. so lets demand solutions that integrate it into MORE aspects of our lives? i will never understand where this complete trust in government was earned. you list many reasons and wars it should not be. you also neglect something very important with (post covid economy). progressives made this problem. they applauded gov lockdowns and authoritarianism under the idea "lives over economics" " stay home save a life" this cont looong after data was clear that (laissez-faire) showed no indication of higher death rates. the right, against immense political, cultural, media pressure did what was best to avoid economic destruction. all while progressives and dems activley supported the destruction of small buisnesses, firing of workers under false vax promises and contributed to inflation with calls to pay everyone to produce nothing. same with censorship of the facts about the pandemic. fighting against these things are liberal ideas. freedom of choice. free from gov oppression, adhering to free speech. so the lives progressives were so concerned about are left in financial ruin right now. the struggling people they claim to fight so hard for are the same ones most effected by these decisions now. now a shrug and "it was covid nothing could be done" as if their were no other choices that they were villianizing or info they were busy erasing. they are ignoring the role they were a big part in when it came to prolonging the damage. so future funding for new social programs or something like medicare for all...good luck! the fed is literally playing with complete economic collapse at this point....not that they care. how is it progressives should be entrusted with ANY political power in the future after this is beyond me. there need to be consequences! like you said. you need to take a objective look at the outcome of society that followed progressive ideology the last few years. here we are. mix that with the progressive reliance on violence (antifa) (pro life medical centers getting bombed) ( supreme justice attempted murder) (police, ice attacks) (public events that have people they don't agree with bomb threats and destruction over the years) (comedians can't even tell jokes) how can peaceful people even identify with it? but this is the future of the dnc? i only asked your opinion, instead i am writing another novel to convince you. 😅 is my dangerous misinformation campaign warping your mind? lol. sorry. in summary i hope progressives such as yourself (you seem relatively moderate) realize liberalism has many of the same goals but without the all the nonsense. i think progressives, if staying on the current coarse and not expelling the radical portion quickly, will implode. its why the red wave is predicted and polls are in the trash for dems. dems stance on police, energy, identity politics, open boarders are all based on progressive ideas and all contributing to the current disaster we have to dig out of. -
U-Haul Full Of Nazi's Arrested In Idaho

i remember when asking questions about a lab, anything other then a vaccination will absolutly stop the spread and contraction, questioning a gov kidnapping plot, skepticism of nazis who openly showed support to younkin outside his bus, anything other then a presidential nominee sons labtop was a russian plot. on and on and on these were all "conspiracy theories". these were all fairly recent. these are just a few examples. so saying the statement " im sceptical and want to ask questions and know more facts" is somehow a strange take at this point? if its true i think everyone agrees they can burn in he11. but to get this far and wonder why people are making that statement then my question for you is. where have you been and how many times and for how long can someone be lied to before they form a bit of skepticism themselves? -

Buffarukus replied to Security's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
i agree with most of this. i was vague with my #3 and elaborated in a response a few above yours. these seem reasonable. we have to come to some kind of understanding of the hipocracy this country has on age. military, drinking, voting, ability to sign contracts. either a human has a fully developed brain to make responsible decisions or not. you wanting to raise it further raises more questions on this topic. i hear the gunshow loophole is not true. but never obtained one from there. the high capacity issue i think is a false flag. mags have gotten smaller and smaller in laws and i dont think does much when a person intent on killing can easily modify them or have as many as possible at the ready. as a NYer it doesnt seem to have worked. thanks. ill look into that study. with gun violence being so prevalent im not sure why statistics are so ambiguous. i think we are in a dangerous time where studies and science has been weaponized. everyone can find some study that affirms a bias they are seeking. the media and subsequently society react so vehemently to only one shooting crime (mass) even if definitionaly they are the same, separated only by cause. same family grieving for any gun crime or murder. i think its apparent there is some agenda that is costing this country from seeking/obtaining more specific solutions instead of broad sweeping ones aimed at legal gun ownership. i think if blue states gave honest feedback on which gun laws were or weren't effective and why, even if just superficially i think they would get a better response when asking for federal intervention. instead its back into corner tactics us vs them that attribute to major pushback reflex. even by those that may initially be open to new laws. well i think this topic is the most interesting to me on this board. like i said I'm a disenfranchised liberal and really don't understand how the ideas, pardon the term got labotomized. 7 progressives? 7 with the slim majority means everything at this point. dont take money? bernie talked about the evil millionaires, that switched up to evil billionaires not long after the dnc itself sabotaged his run, twice. i think they vote and do as they are told then tweet what people want to hear. manchin alone shows how much power they could have. i think progressive ideas are counter productive at this point. examples: crushing debt of college in this country. they could look into why these colleges are so expensive. come up with a plan to look into interest accrued. ask why are colleges not held responsible to get kids foot in doors after grad? ect ect. OR progressive ideas = pay my loan off!! make it free! id think it would get universal support if the issue was placed on those who are the cause. instead its plan that creates division. it honestly may be their goal. immigration. law reform? faster cheaper legal solutions to enter? no. OPEN BOARDERS and (of coarse) let them vote. treat everyone with respect? no. seperate by race in victim tiers and attack anyone not falling in line!!! social programs? ive seen massive abuse of the ones we have by people in my own family, never any calls to address the waste. only demands to pile on more. might not need a dime of tax money for new if they seriously looked to cut the abuse. so it takes some of the real problems we face and puts them in worse positions imo. unless progressives actively remove the elements that are corrupting the issues in this way, including gun violence, my points before. i see nothing but resentment growing toward them. it has alienated me, a liberal minded person for example...with student debt! its a ideology that has gotten so extreme it is REVERSING some the problems this country made great strides in. you prob feel the same about the right. the difference imo is their extremes are never placated culturally. this weeks 1/6 "hearings" on every station years away from the event tells that fact pretty clearly. i will say on the street level if their is a good cause that needs funding or support progressives are the ones who will go out and support a cause. so they aren't all talk like some but also the cost they activate to do bad stuff. sorry for the long rant. it strikes a cord with me because the beliefs i fight for are the ones overtaken by them mostly. conservatives have picked up some of them so i guess lean right now. that and the fact progressives seem to have a real hatred for this country now. i know its off topic but interested in what you think on conservatives, traditional liberal stances and why you think they have been abandoned for progressive identifying as one yourself. -

first id like to keep from creating a tier list for those that can afford self protection which is why i emphasized cheap on licensing. adding insurance or repeated pricing that can be manipulated would essentially lead to have and have nots imo so we have to be careful. second i think your suggestion is somwhat extreme. someone else commits a crime by stealing your weopon and then another and you bare full responsability? im more in line in forcing people to understand their responsibility ( situationally ) guns at home not in use a saftey measure should be used. you leave a gun in your car same thing. having loaded firearms at the ready when you are not even paying attention to them or in a situation it has no use THEN you are fully responsible. -

thanks for the thoughtout response. regardless if we will never agree at least we are trying to have a civilized discussion. will never put anyone down for that. with that. id like to link to this study. id also ask we look at how many guns have SAVED lives since that is NEVER talked about. you talk about universal healthcare but states have their own budgets along with their own gun laws..to a extent. any studies on if stricter gun laws make a difference in gun violence.we should see diff in red and blue states right? thats pretty important study when the one universal truth is republicans "lax" ie. universal background and adherence to state municipalities. as i said there are compromises to be made but throughout this reply i dont see any from the left. im not sure how strong or weak progressivism is elsewhere. i do know its pretty prevalent in the democratic party. i use to identify with that party until many of the features of progressives took over so im not sure where you say they are without power. give yourself credit 😁. identity politics, soft on crime, freedom of speech abandonment.ect. ect.are prevalent. old enough to see dems stand for little they used to. san fran just ousted progressive da. how many gun victims were caused in his reign to have the most progressive city say enough? just a example many more. you may not get what you want out of the establishment but they def adopted alot of the ideas. no just a president that has very porous southern boarder. used a photo to demonize them. posts on social media ect ect. this goes with the above. anyone know how many illegal weopons are coming in? aoc made it clear guns from the south of coarse (florida) was a culprit. how many cartel members? but lets get serious about gun crime! is this stuff negligible? if a mass shooting happens do to it, then republicans!! gun laws! the answer is yes because that is always the reason. so how serious are we again? i agree. thats probably true but the same is done every time inner city crime is brought up. but who are we kidding, it isn't. black lives matter but nothing to see here look at those evil gun laws..their fault. make the gun laws but lets not pretend it will save the lives of those effected most by gun violence since alot is carried out by illegal carry to begin with. at some point that will have to be reckoned with regardless how many times they point their finger at people who aren't even in control in these state laws. one of my org points. but it hasnt so far, maybe never. its about the prevailing culture that was made. i make no excuse for uvalde cowards but lets not use that extreme to say "this is what we mean". plenty of examples cops who were demonized by the same progressives for doing nothing wrong. some cheered on when they were assinated, "thats what they get"..i gave just 1 example. the knife girl. plenty more. i understand the atmosphere i live in. do you think cops will be well staffed in the future with pure hatred at them regardless of record? young kids learning this? do you think the culture does not have police second guessing themselves do to calls for imprisonment, again regardless of action in a cases. if you don't think that then sorry that's nieve. these aren't robots and asking police to stand in front of a bullet for some of the people who declared they hate your guts and dont think you should have equipment to survive. its a position i don't think many will want in the future to say the least. that was the excuse in uvalde, however you perceive iti, thats what they claimed. if police dont want to go in what happens to crime? gun crime? id say it goes up. no way they need that equipment. so definite for someone that isnt in the position to risk their life. i brought it up because the topic is gun violence. this goes with my above statement. now they should also risk their lives without equipment that is made for shooting situations. its pretty much a militarized event requiring military equipment, or we hope the "militarized" division is at the ready to react. different people or? now i dont think police should be militarized for everyday events but progressives never made a distinction. again i see this as cops unprepared for situations. more of them die or stand back as a result, more innocent die. not a good thing. i think we mostly agree on this unfortunately the democrats have took this thinking into all sorts of crime and it should be universally challenged by both of us. if a much tougher DA in san fran gets in and gun violence goes down then maybe im on to something...i think im on to something. i addressed this above. so where are we at. my compromise. 1) strict classes, cheap, that one must take to get a license. 2) every gun should come with a saftey devise. lock, safe ect. no device, no gun. 3) gun sale come with paperwork buyer signing they are legally responsible for the weapon so they better take ownership responsibility and saftey very serious? good start? how about the factors i mentioned. not really making a dent. i live in a blue state/blue city, strict laws and think i know what im afraid of. im not a avid gun owner. just somone that has seen more violence then id like to admit. im not seeing anyone advocate for us. just attempting to bring awareness to the side who only points at others. -
i truly believe one day humanity will harness our greatest scientific minds to define this for us. one can only hope this breakthrough takes place on these mysterious beings soon because there are many that consider "women" nothing more then social constructs that can be pushed aside and appropriated until politically useful.

Why do the gays love the dems so much ?
Buffarukus replied to Teddy KGB's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
so when exactly does the term (marginalized) not apply. the group certainly does not meet the definition anymore. we are in pride month. a ton of organizations are "showing" support. whether its for sales or whatever. its pretty prevalent. just had the pride parade in my city yesterday. blocks shut down, my union showed support, some young people i know sold small jewelry. 2700 dollars made for 1 booth i guess. full crowd and everyone had a good time without any counter protests or hatred. back in my day parents and teachers didnt have to "say gay". there were things known as anti bullying campaigns. treat everyone with respect regardless of who they are. the good thing about that philosophy is it adresses everyone. i dont think anyone opposes teaching that at any age regardless of politics. a black man was elected twice, gay folks can get married. running out of groups to pander to so the far left had to invent a new divisive way of making enemies by wrapping virtue with identity politics. its a neat little trick to create enemies to rally against, if they simply don't agree. stop hate the way we tell you. even if it involves small children, division, and racism of its own or YOUR the bigot. was working for awhile. people were scared of the false labels. they overlooked parents. their kids are more important then anything they label them as. desantis has really done something genius. one bill to show how depraved this ideology can get. expose the bogus media narratives they create and allow the ideologs to do what they do. alienate regular people who are not indoctrinated and show them what they are. -

well it obviously comes with having the person or person's plural tasked with arming themselves for protection. 1) training or previous knowledge of how to properly use the weopon 2) willingness to be that person with again training on how to go about being in a situation. it would not be somthing that should be looked at now the children are safe. it would be if this happens then at least there is someone that could potentially mitigate as a last resort. that can never be a bad. obviously tossing a gun at someone unprepared or unwilling and say its your job..good luck. of coarse that's a horrable idea. since you see yourself as a progressive im more interested in your response to what most of my post was on. progressives have demonized police. as a officer today good luck finding anyone who does not second guess himself as any decision made will be condemned with the power of hindsight to possably destroy them and put them in jail themselves. perfect example. the cop who shot that girl that was seconds away from stabbing the other girl..fire him! put him in jail! cop doesnt react and that girl is stabbed in the neck. how could he do nothing! he just watched! fire him! put him in jail! HE SHOULD HAVE SHOT HER!! not very good when split seconds are the difference in lives lost. demanded the demilitarization of police so saying they must go into a active dangerous situation without proper gear regardless of situation. applauded lax DAs that disregard laws already on the books that possibly could take repeated violent offenders off the streets or turn felonies to misdermeanors that help criminals pass background checks. this has lead to 100s and more murders this year. how many murders happen from repeated violent offenders..alot! how many from completely illegal carry? keep slapping that wrist. progressives even have villianized boarder patrol. the one guy who ended the killers rampage in texas. has biden held that man up as the hero he is yet? because he made up that racist narrative about the whip that never existed pretty quickly? but its republicans and gun laws that are the main culprit? the same power grabs you see for them are the same ones that have legislators condoning the above. not alot of talking about that. why is that? ive put a few sensible gun control laws in this thread but why does inner city violence from criminals that illegally carry rarely come up in the conversation. i think because that killing is normalized so people see the blip on the news and then heres bill with the weather. pretty frustrating to see the outrage turned on and off and finger pointed in one direction only constantly. not to mention the flat out lies and gov overreach that progressives have applauded the last 2 years. not fostering good rationale for those who specifically want gun laws untouched for that reason alone. gun sales are WAY up because a collapsing economy and ignoring criminals is a combo that kind of make people uneasy not to mention, desperate. i acknowledge gun laws need to be looked at and changes made but we all play a part in this. progressives, as usual, dont seem to want to look at the role they have played and the reprocussions of it. is there going to be demand to stop the gun violence in places that have the strictest laws or have dem thrown thier hands up and pointing at law abiding citizens been that effective that all gun violence is their fault alone, nothing to see here. it shows how unserious we are as a country. more so egotistical. always the other sides fault. when DA throw the book at illegal gun carry or progressives don't bring up "rights" when it comes to something like stop and frisk while telling others they should give up theirs it would be more impactful. -

Buffarukus replied to Security's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
i agree with this. responsable gun owners have to stop giving cover to irresponsible ones because they are just as much a problem as the criminals who get them illegally. im tired of hearing the story of the kid who opened the bottom drawer in dads bedroom to play with the loaded gun as much as the drive by shooting that killed children. i think its time if you buy a guun you better be buying some security measure, lock, safe, whatever along with it as a mandatory along with a signature that states you as the owner a legally responsible for what happens with it. if you have kids/ shady roommate ect you better be prepared to take gun security extremely seriously or not at all. i think that's a good compromise that will not affect the responsible owners and make people think twice if they are willing to take the great responsability that comes with gun ownership..because thats what it is. but on the flipside if you are asking, yet again, for law abiding citizens to bare the blame of the psychopaths that roam this country then its about time those pointing the finger also accept it. you got these DAs reducing charges. letting people who carry around guns just walk out a revolving door some to immediately carry and kill. turn felonies to misdemeanors so background checks are meaningless. at what point do these soft a$$ progressives look at how they have impacted the murder rate and gun violence. bring back stop and frisk and shutup about rights because you are clearly stating rights are less important then curbing this epidemic. so push gun charges as high as they can go and lets see if they want to fix the problem they swear they care about or this is just another pile of hipocracy they are shoveling at the feet of people who do nothing wrong. -

just curious. i appreciate the honesty of saying you dont know alot and are simply trying to spark discussion. its rare that someone says that and i think if more people did instead of acting as if they had the one true answer anyone who disagree are idiots then we might actually realize there is alot of common ground being overshadowed by ego. it might actually lead to consensus, image that. just for any further discussion assault weopon is a term i think is intentionally vague. it has a large amount of interpretations. some think its weapons with selectable auto capabilities (already illegal). other then that it seems a list of diff features that can be obtained on many types such as pistol grip? i have that on my shotgun. ect ect. so our gov, who control the largest array of weapons on the planet to make clear what they want to make illegal. a assault weapon is a ar-15 today, by the way that is just a rifle that can be altered like most rifles, there's nothing special going on that makes it "assault ready". tomorrow its a pistol, next week it can be a shotgun. its a pretty good start to make terms ambiguous in this way to get major pushback from those who see the gov as just trying to impose on ones rights and make people less resistant to authoritarian control. nothing says trust me like saying to i want to ban something no one is even sure of the meaning of and can cover almost anything. -
What is better, no guns, or more guns?
Buffarukus replied to Security's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
so what would you personally like to ban. ar-15s? how do you define a assault weopon? im not trying to be argumentative and not even sure if i agree because this post is like soo many others. very ambiguous. reading on the clintons ban in the washington post alot of info seems to be highly disputed. none of this is as simple as a tweet indicates. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2019/08/08/bill-clintons-claim-that-assault-weapons-ban-led-big-drop-mass-shooting-deaths/ -
its the way our society is built now. its NY. so its not JUST a mentally ill person. its a BLACK mentally ill person. meaning if your white you definatly better just sit there and hope he doesn't pull a weopon and kill that woman. you act and you just committed a hate crime on someone with a disability who knows not what he is doing. even if your not white or security you are putting yourself at risk AFTER putting yourself at risk. a few media outlets decide to edit out any action before you intervene now the story of a poor mentally ill man is told and then a clip of you attacking him. while they ignore the woman or witness testimony. prepare for at the least a lawsuit and at most the president commenting on the version he chooses. time and time and time again this has happened. the public that jumps on board and villianize to destroys someone so quickly is nowhere to be found when a full video is uncovered and actual evidence is presented. even if it is 100% proven false there are STILL people that simply can't believe that they were lied to so they continue on. its is insanity! this is all intentional heading us off a cliff. never thought in a world with information at everyones fingertips it would be so simplistic to propagate flat out lies that stick with such a large portion of the public. this means you are literally damned if you do damned if you don't. everyone is a god with the power of hindsight. that man plunges a knife in that poor girl and its easily shifted to how could you just sit there and watch this happen!!!! i would of.. they should of.. what a incredable power to know the intentions and outcomes of everything. armchair quarterbacking everything afterwards from the comfort of home giving our "leaders" to act on the whims of a mob that will move on the second the news cycle changes.

had to ride the metro every single day to high school into down town buffalo then catch another one on elmwood street. got in a few fights just minding my own buisness and saw many other crazy situations as a mental clinic was also on that route. kids have to go through this s#it just to get a education in the city. meanwhile my liberal woke friends who went to suburban schools enjoyed a nice safe little yellow, what we city kids used to call "cheese" picking them up and dropping them off right on their corner. the sad part about that video is that every person in that car including the woman terrified into tears most likely wouldn't even consider voting anything other then democrat. its amazing how dysfunctional things can get and people wont even consider making a major political change. no wonder the governors have become authoritarian. what the hell is the public going to do about it?

your talking about how unrealistic it is but the point would be to give people a fighting chance. that is always going to be better then not having one at all until law enforcement arrives or sadlyin texas, boarder patrol. not sure what the issue is or why anyone would not support it besides the fact the people who decided to be armed would immediatly be the ones blamed and demonized if they did not "wyatt earp" because they locked up and were scared. noone knows exactly how they would act. i agree with psychological issues have to be a huge component in gun law. its going to be a very tough line to draw as A) penalizing people for seeking treatment is going to deter alot of help and B) what particular line is reasonable. the fact DAs seem to be laxing on crime in general is not helping anyone. felonies reduced to not be flagged on a background search. illegal carry being almost as common and pretty much normalized is pretty strange seeing as these are the places that have/want stricter gun laws on people that abide by the law. we are going in the wrong direction. ill never get that yes i realize both shooter legally bought guns but the 1000's of others that for whatever reason never get the spotlight. we have a cocktail brewing of anti/ demonized police and in the case of texas also the boarder patrol. a call to demilitarize police should be looked at as these situations require swat type gear but people have demanded it be removed regardless of circumstances. DAs that have become lenient. a economy that is putting alot of pressure and desperation on people that were already struggling. people that are repeatedly being brought to the attention of officials as high up as the federal level and "slipping through the cracks" of multi billion dollar org that are specifically there to prevent these things and a population that is buying more guns then ever because of all of this. im sorry to say it doesnt look like this is going to get better anytime soon. the IMMEDIATE answer is to advocate for the ability to defend oneself and those around them and make it very clear by officials that doing so will not result in punishment of its own which has also been a issue for decades for some absurd reason. -

one his dumb @ss father gave him a gun and LET HIM KEEP IT after he was brought in for questioning!? about shooting up his school!? why wasnt he on a list of potential dangers at this point that at least postponed any gun sale in the US!? slippery slope, whatever, too many mass shooting in schools where kids can make threats like this and its not charged? no charge no issue on a background. neglectful parents and poor phyc evaluations that seem to get things completely wrong is the two main factors that repeatedly show up when it comes to these people and tragedies. again and again and again. how about instead of giving dhs a major price hike every year since they dont seem to stop much. we send just a billion of their budget to phycologist that can actually identify a mentally ill person when the red flag is raised in the first place. -

i dont agree. like i said on the state level that absolutely a issue but federally, i dont think so. i think the federal gov is now into doing two things divide and conquer. you cant be completely inept at your job or people will start demanding its pointless. you cant be to good at it or people will be pissed about asking for new powers or the increase in budget for no reason. have to let some things slide and if possable it would be nice if they were ones that went down a nice divisive line so people start dumb ass threads in which to blame each other instead of the institutions directly responsible for neutralizing these threats. hey if your lucky you may get enough support to have the fools advocate disarming themselves for you. wouldn't that be nice. of coarse some things legitimately slip through but they have proven to many times of "having information" on threats and did absolutely nothing. but who am i kidding. we have become so polarized no one even looks at them as neglecting their responsability anymore. the cdc, in touch with top scientists all over the world. yeah alot of good scientific advice we got out of them for the billions in taxes we pay. the dhs didnt even exist until 9/11. young people dont know that. have you noticed less domestic threats? cause its been escalating a ton from before they existed. but lets increase the budget... for next time. the divide part is over and we are to stupid to notice. -

where do you live? there are stringent background checks and new york state has some of the strictest. not allowing access to crazy people has been pretty standard as long as they have something on record. funny how the left are the ones with progressive DAs that are not prosecuting laws or reducing them where that can put people on that kind of restricted list. but yeah whatever, blame qanon, commie conspiracies, video games, violent movies, music. race. whatever floats your boat. regardless, if your a danger you garner attention. most the time they do. i would like a explanation of people who are not only flagged by dhs and fbi as a danger but why the ones that "fall off" the list right before they commit these acts are happening so frequently.
