  1. Look, like I said, I didn't and haven't looked at any draft chart for this. I'm not looking at one. Taylor's value would increase in a draft day trade if his $6 million bonus were paid out, so I think a 4th or even 3rd round value for him wouldn't be absurd. Siemian, I agree, wouldn't be worth more than a 7th round pick. Do with that math whatever you wish in terms of the draft value chart.
  2. Ummm, I just thanked you for taking me off your ignore list. Why are you so upset? Can we stay on topic, please. Well, Taylor and Siemian don't cancel out because Taylor has more value than Siemian. So there's the explanation for the original values. Not sure what the snarkiness means, so I'll ask you this question again and even explain for you. Here are your exact words regarding Bradford: "I'll take my chances between 2015 & 2016 he played 29gms hopefully we get him to get bk to that form" Sam Bradford in 29 games from 2015-2016 249 Net yards per game 7.0 YPA passing 39 TDs 27 turnovers That's real. I didn't make any of that up. That's what you're saying you prefer locking this team to in a multi-year deal over Tyrod Taylor and his one year deal. And oh look, in 2015-2016 Taylor also started 29 games 235 Net yards per game 7.4 YPA passing 47 TDs 15 turnovers So, is this really an "I want Bradford" thing or is this a "I'll cut my nose off to spite my face!" thing?
  3. Why on earth would you take both Tyrod and Siemian out of the trade? That's the point, duh. Siemian is notably worse than Taylor and, therefore, is notably less valuable. Not too smart, huh? Bills give Denver a 1st, a 2nd, a 5th, and an average range NFL QB who's started 40+ games over the last 3 years in exchange for the 5th pick in the 1st and a clear backup QB to whoever we draft at QB at 5. Laugh or SMH or IMHO or OMG all you want, it's not my fault your lunacy on this Tyrod argument and weird obsession with him is making you blind to what's probably a realistic and relatively fair trade. Wanna make that 5th our 4th rounder instead to give the illusion of Tyrod being significantly less valuable like you want? Fine, I bet Denver would very seriously consider accepting our 1st, 2nd, 4th and Tyrod in exchange for #5 and Siemian. You literally just said a 4th rounder. Why the sudden change? As for whatever chart you're going by, I didn't look at any chart and don't think teams really give a crap about those charts. Fine, make it our 1st, 2nd, 4th rounder and Tyrod for their #5 and Siemian. Happy? My life is now complete. Oh how I've missed you
  4. Great, thanks for sharing
  5. Why do they have to do this? You're an outsider. We're all outsiders, but I think a lot of people here are just so friggin emotional when it comes to this issue. (go ahead, accuse me of saying something ironic... I know you're thinking it), but... What gives you a clue that McBeane has to cut ties with Taylor this offseason? The guy is in Buffalo on literally a one year contract and as the OP referenced, all these other vet QBs are going to want multi-year deals and are likely going to want to be the guy at QB. It's just a guess on my part (though I think a pretty educated one based on all our moves to acquire all these draft picks along with Taylor's 2-year restructure last year), but I bet McDermott and Beane want to bring in their guy at QB who will be a young guy who they can groom and grow at the position. If you believed that the Bills were targeting a QB in the first round, while the possibility of bringing in a guy like Bradford or McCown or whoever as another QB exists, it's probably far less likely than keeping the guy you have on the team still under contract for one more year. I think the OP makes some great points because, ultimately, it takes 2 to tango. You've gotta get that other QB to accept his role, whatever you want that to be. Most of these guys out there will likely stay away from a team drafting a QB in the first knowing they could hear a fanbase booing them off the field before the mid-point of the season knowing there's a young pup right behind him. And that could absolutely happen with Tyrod Taylor in the first half of the season, too, but the difference is that if you then bench him and go to the rookie at any point to the season, you aren't financially tied to him, unlike a Bradford or a Keenum if you were to bring them in and bench them.
  6. Bradford? Is that who you're talking about? Which do you prefer? Vet QB with a multi-year contract worth north of $10 million, possibly closer to $20 million per year with the following production: 249 Net yards per game 7.0 YPA passing 39 TDs 27 turnovers OR Vet QB on a one-year contract worth between $10-$20 million 235 Net yards per game 7.4 YPA passing 47 TDs 15 turnovers You take your chances on that first guy, my guess is McBeane would choose the 2nd guy over that first guy, but I have a nice bridge I can sell you
  7. No, he didn't. There's never been a moment since 2015 when Tyrod Taylor has not been under contract with the Buffalo Bills. Sorry. Yeah, right. And then when his knees fail you're left with a rookie and noodle-armed Nate. Wonderful idea
  8. I'm actually amazed that anyone thinks Bradford is really worth anything at this point. So many injuries. This isn't about risk vs. reward. It's about when the injury will happen. Hell, Bradford isn't even the vet FA QB with a knee problem from his own team. Bridgewater before Bradford, but I think you stay away from him, too. To me, the only vet FA QBs worth even pursuing as potential starters are Kirk Cousins and Case Keenum. Yet, at the same time I'd pretty quickly eliminate both from the list because of how much they'll cost. Cousins or bust for vet QBs... that's it. But I'd very much prefer a drafted guy in the 1st. And I think OBD would, too. And as the OP laid it all out, that's why I think Taylor staying is highly likely. And his primary exit from the team would be via a massive trade up that involves another QB who is much more obviously a backup than TT. Like here would be a possible trade I think could happen and I'd be good with it. Assuming Darnold/Rosen or maybe Mayfield are still sitting there at pick #5, Bills make a trade with Denver. Bills get pick # 5 and Trevor Siemian. Broncos get pick #21, pick #53, one of our 5ths and Tyrod Taylor.
  9. Why a 2 year wait? If we draft Jackson, which is turning up more and more in these mock drafts, he'll be the starter in 2019 after redshirting his rookie year, probably behind Taylor. You better believe McDermott paid attention to what Andy Reid did this year.
  10. He's kinda testy... plus he evidently has reading comprehension and communication issues. But he's a helluva poster... I mean DAMMMNNNN!!!! Look at that rep!!!
  11. Did I? No one even brought his name up other than you. He wasn't part of the conversation. But paint me with your broad brush. Tribalism reigns supreme and blinds everyone here, after all.
  12. I've said and said and said that my top choices are Mayfield and Darnold, period. I also like Rudolph. I've actually said initially I didn't want Jackson specifically because he was too much like Taylor, but having researched and looked him over, I've warmed up to him so that now he's my #3 or #4, since I'd also put Rosen up in the top 3, but I legitimately don't think he's on our radar, despite rumors otherwise. I swear to Christ, if Taylor isn't the topic of conversation, leave it to the obsessed anTy Taylor crowd to be sure to bring him in, somehow.
  13. It's really just kinda starting to feel like Lamar Jackson may be our guy if we're unable to trade up for Darnold. I know all the rumors about Rosen... I just don't believe them... but who knows, I know I'd be excited to get him. But too much of that is out there from what has been a generally leak-free organization over the last year.
  14. Well... we all know you're a big Eeyore so it's not shocking you don't expect much next year. I think McBeane has something different in mind... and given another year to build the team they want, 8 draft picks in the first 5 rounds and a free agency period soon underway... I think you're at best being cautious but most likely just being foolish tempering your expectations to the point where you believe this team takes a big step back next year. Early stages... obviously... but I'm calling playoffs again. Now it's time to take the next step and win some playoff games
  15. Good God this draft and Free Agency period is going to be super exciting! Wood's unfortunate retirement makes this a serious possibility. But without even looking at any of the responses yet, I'll ask the question impact sure multiple posters have asked you: Who's the QB?
  16. https://sports.yahoo.com/2018-starting-quarterbacks-ranked-apy-041938716.html The 2018 starting quarterbacks, ranked by APY by Mike Florio 21. Tyrod Taylor: $15.25 million. Whether he plays for the Bills or someone else, it’s a pretty good deal.
  17. I really don’t care what you do with your Sundays, I just think it’s interesting in terms of choices of what to do on a Sunday, you’re choosing to sit on a Bills message board insulting people rather than fishing or enjoying your day. Yikes!
  18. Coaches teach young QBs about mechanics, understanding the offense, progressions, etc. Where the hell does this assumption that the 1st string QB teaches that to the 2nd string QB come from? If a young QB can glean anything from a vet QB he’s sitting behind, it would be leadership and work ethic, and Taylor would get high marks in both categories, I’m sure.
  19. Wha... bu... I ca... It’s literally like some people here are just going to keep saying whatever they believe even in direct response to threads that essentially and logically nullify it. I mean, after all, why bother reading and understanding someone else’s arguments when I have opinions that are all my own, right?
  20. And so you follow it up with a condescending and immature "look at me" post rather than maturely ignoring his thread. Vicious cycle as it goes. His might be a "look at me" thread, but it's a thoughtful one that really only has to exist because tribalism is making some of you anTy Taylor guys absolutely insane... like to the point where people are actually saying Trevor Siemian and Rick Mirer are/were better QBs than Tyrod Taylor. If McBeane sees our QB situation the same way as the OP, which I think is rather likely, then I really hope the fish are abundant for you on those Fall Sundays that you refuse to watch a team you've been a fan of for 45 years because... well... I guess you legitimately view Taylor as the worst starting QB in a Bills uniform in nearly half a century...?
  21. Ladies and gentlemen... here's reading between the lines with lesson #1 in identifying when poster Thurman#1 admits he's wrong. The above, loosely translated = "when I said Taylor had next to no chance remaining on the roster past March 16th and that anyone who thought otherwise was delusional, I WAS WRONG." Lesson complete
  22. Not too smart, I guess. Not hard at all, actually... We saw a massive downgrade play out this year against the Chargers.
  23. Good God I hope you aren't being serious. Siemian sucks way more than you could even pretend to argue Tyrod sucks. Tribalism over this issue is making some of the anTy Taylor guys just plain stupid
  24. Yes... that's his shtick. That or run away when he's wrong.
  25. Real value, huh? What's the Cap impact if we cut Taylor tomorrow? Now subtract that number from $23 million and you have your real Cap impact for the next 2 years. Forgive me if I don't take much credence from the guy who said there was nearly no chance in Buffalo paying Taylor his $6 million bonus by March 16th, yet the reports right now are that that's exactly what they're going to do unless they can trade him before then. Siemian sucks and would be a big downgrade from Taylor. McBeane won't downgrade the position. And this isn't me saying that Simeon won't be on the team. I can reasonably Envision him being a Buffalo Bill, but it would only be because we've traded up likely with Denver to the V Spot and plan on getting one of the top 2 or 3 QBs. That would constitute an upgrade and would absolutely be reason for Taylor to be gone. But if we aren't massively trading up like that and we stay put right around where we are in the draft, Buffalo more likely than not will keep Taylor for one more year.
