  1. Something about Rosen just rubs me the wrong way, but I'll be happy if we get him. I just feel like he has such an expansive injury history, though. And I think Mayfield's attitude fits in with WNY much better than Rosen, who seems like a New York Giants type of QB.
  2. http://www.espn.com/blog/buffalo-bills/post/_/id/31241/bills-can-improve-from-tyrod-taylor-in-late-game-situations The game plan: The home run for the Bills would be to snag one of the draft's top quarterbacks by executing a trade at a reasonable asking price. The problem is that the Bills will not know until April whether that can happen, so they must make decisions in the coming days about Taylor and free-agent quarterbacks independent of their draft plans. Keeping Taylor as insurance or as the starter next season is one option, but trading him and acquiring a quarterback at a comparable or lower price would also make sense. The unlikely scenario is the Bills splurging on a top free agent such as Kirk Cousins or Case Keenum. It would also be surprising if the Bills let Taylor go and rode into 2018 with Peterman as their starting quarterback; he simply is not ready. Right... so basically... trade Taylor (potentially as part of a package) if we're able to trade up in the draft for one of the best guys (please please please let it be Mayfield) or we'll stay put and draft the 4th or 5th best guy (Jackson... ?) while keeping Taylor for one more year as an insurance bridge guy... yeah, sounds good
  3. More than a 1st and a 4th?!?! What a joke. Can we stop talking about even entertaining this idea of trading for Nick Foles now?
  4. Yes. Mayfield looks like he has a similar type of pocket awareness and ability to find passing lanes to Brees. Mayfield is 6' 5/8". I don't know how accurate Brees's listed 6'0" is, but the guys just seems like a winner and a leader of men.
  5. You were probably lucky, then. Do you think that all people who get arrested are bad people? Especially college kids when it comes to alcohol? He was drunk, evidently being yelled at by someone and in the middle of a fight and then confronted by a cop... bad combination. By the sounds of it, unlike Johnny Football, he's not a big worry in terms of being addicted. I think the guy just has a massive chip on his shoulder.
  6. Some of what I've heard/read is that after this weekend the top 3 guys are Rosen, Darnold, and Allen who has propelled himself up into discussion as the top pick. It's just unfathomable to me. I'm so freakin confused that people aren't talking more about Mayfield. He's the only QB of this bunch that I'll be 100% ecstatic in getting with really no reservations. I'll be pumped about the other guys, but Rosen's attitude/durability scares me, Darnold's propensity for turnovers and rather underwhelming 2017 season scares me, and Jackson's playing style combined with injury risk scares me. Mayfield, to me, really just seems like the most sure thing of the bunch at QB. The guy is just a winner who loves the game and has a massive chip on his shoulder. Love that!
  7. I want him... bad. No one else? I go through 3 pages on the Stadium Wall expecting some thread title indicating people are talking about how much they want Mayfield. Nothing. Even the national narrative is somehow focusing most of its discussion at the Combine on Rosen's question marks, Jackson's up and down performance, and Allen's stellar performance. But very little discussion about Baker Mayfield's stock going up. I was listening to the Cowturd show this morning and he had a guest on who said he spoke with a couple NFL GMs after the weekend and one told him that Mayfield just absolutely blew him away in the interview portion. Plus, maybe behind Allen, Mayfield looked the best in passing drills at the Combine. Yet, very little talk about him. Why? Is the issue with him more his height or his immaturity? If it's his height, measuring in at 6' 5/8" seems just fine. He seems to have great pocket awareness, anyway and is able to find throwing lanes. If it's his maturity, I actually love his attitude. He's made mistakes, but the guy just comes off as the perfect leader of a team as long as you've got some veterans on the team and a good coach to help guide him. I'll be happy if we get Rosen or Darnold or Jackson. Stay the hell away from Allen. But can we please please please just go up and get Mayfield!
  8. You're too cute. Kiss kiss. You and the verbiage you love to use with me. Don't be mad bro... I might have the brains, but at least you have the looks
  9. If he's our guy (which I don't want... he's the only one of the bunch I don't want), then I would virtually guarantee Tyrod Taylor would still be our QB for one more year. Love Allen's physical tools... but damn he's scary!
  10. Oh hey buddy... long time no talk... been hiding for so long after being so consistently wrong (to the point of being "dismantled" ) in our discussions? All in good fun... you're always one of my favs Nice picture. Terrible play by Taylor. He's still quite likely going to be back in Buffalo for another year... sorry
  11. Anyone would trade that amount for the next Big Ben or Drew Brees. Anyone. I haven't actually read the responses, but I assume that's what people are saying. The problem is that hindsight is 20/20. It's the same problem with all the idiots who said Tyrod would obviously be cut once the season ended and that there was no way in hell Buffalo would even consider paying him the $6 million bonus. It's a message board... so all in good fun... but of course people are going to say stupid stuff they wouldn't say to people in real life.
  12. Mayfield please. I really think he's going to have the best pro career. That said, I'll be stoked about any of them except Allen.
  13. Yes. I really don't think that gets us to #3, though. It's going to cost more. So yes, I do it because I think that's incredibly fair value for Buffalo and I prefer Mayfield over any other QB.
  14. I don’t know why anyone ever thought we were going after him anyway.
  15. If it did, can you assure us that you'd assure us it did?
  16. You can interpret this that way if you want, I guess. Though McDermott and Beane don't strike me as viewing 1 player as the Franchise Savior, even if that player is a QB. Sorry, not curbing my enthusiasm. I can handle my level of enthusiasm just fine, thanks And I keep going back to the fact that the OC who reportedly pushed for that benching was the guy let go of instead of Taylor.
  17. As our season ended and my attention had recently shifted to college ball, for me I wanted 3 QBs: Mayfield Darnold Rudolph ... Now he's probably 5th with Jackson and Rosen leapfrogging him.
  18. I really think McDermott's comments that "we aren't as far along as people think" was a statement to fans that we should anticipate keeping all our picks in order to continue to build the team while still taking a QB, just maybe the 4th or 5th best guy rather than one of the top 3. And, in turn, brace yourselves for one more potential year of Tyrod Taylor. We'll see though.
  19. Holy crap... someone's a moron for sure, but it ain't Jackson.
  20. Jackson has been the recently I've been thinking is our most likely pick. Ever since Wood's retirement I changed my assumption that we're inevitably moving up to we're most likely staying put to keep our draft picks. I'd be happy with Jackson at 21.
  21. I'll be really surprised if we don't draft any of those 5 on your list or Mason Rudolph or go out and try to acquire Kirk Cousins or (please please please!!!) Andrew Luck. So while if you asked me if I'd put $20 down on Tyrod being on the roster come the Fall, I might take that bet. But if you asked me if I'd put $200 down on any of the 8 in Darnold or Rosen or Jackson or Mayfield or Rudolph or Allen or Cousins or Luck being on our roster in the Fall, I'd definitely take that bet. I actually don't want to bet on either, I'm just trying to make a point What are you asking me? I remember you saying that people were exaggerating the success of Taylor's 2015 season, but even then I don't remember you dismissing him as a Franchise QB. I definitely do not remember you saying in the preseason of 2015 that you knew he would never be a Franchise QB. Is this revisionist history?
  22. Just want to argue now? I disagree. After 2015 there was good reason to think Tyrod Taylor could have been our long term solution at QB.
