Not letting Donald Trump win a 2nd term drives the excitement.
-
Try? Try to rebut anything you said??? You rebut yourself in your ridiculous presumption that the extremists control the Democratic party. Do you notice your 2nd paragraph? Notice who you mention? Yet, who was the Democratic nominee in 2016? Now, this is not surprising considering what we've seen happen to the Republicans, but the winner of the Democratic nomination is almost certainty one of the left of center nominees, not Bernie or Warren.

Week Two: Bills at Giants
transplantbillsfan replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll say what I said earlier: Keep your foot on the gas. No need to accelerate but go whatever speed you're going for the entire game. If we're up 21-3 going into the 4th quarter, maybe it's just me but I've been burned enough by this team that I won't feel comfortable. I didn't like 17 straight passes to start the game last week, so I'd prefer our opening gameplan mixed some runs in. But I also think it's a mistake when any team that has a big lead changes its gameplan because it has a big lead unless that lead is insurmountable. An 18 or 19 point deficit going into the 4th quarter is not insurmountable, just ask the Atlanta Falcons. Don't change the gameplan until you're forced to. -

What a bunch of hilarious bulls$h1t. You were CONSTANTLY pushing that he had zero chance to win the nomination, and now you're starting a slow walk back. I'll give you that you're trying to be subtle with your slow walk so as not to be called just plain dead wrong if/when he wins the nomination, which looks only more likely after last night. What on earth are you going to say if/when Trump loses the general election? Bro, I like you, but for as much as you accuse others of having their heads in the sand I think you'd better pull yours out before the tide rises.

Biden's the likely democratic nominee and, therefore, your next President. Embrace it. No, you should read closer and understand your own narrative better. Before you were "Biden has a zero chance" Now you're explaining his chance. So which is it? Zero chance? He has a chance? You're inching there at a snail's pace, but I think you'll get there eventually
-
I see you've given up the zero shot to win the nomination narrative you pushed for months, so you got that going for ya the ever shifting goal posts... I wonder how long it takes you to do the same for the general.

Did someone seriously just post the front page of the New York Post as a credible take on the debate last night? Oy. Record player moment was a bad moment, yet the guy took another step towards the nomination, despite the absolute stubborn denial of some posters *ahem* over here. Good debate for Biden for those that actually watched.
-
Pretty clear nothing changed with this debate, other than Castro and Yang probably falling out of the race. Harris was almost cringe-worthy. Big fall after her first debate. Sanders probably falls, too. Klobuchar was meh. Warren was fine. Beto had his best debate by far. He moved something. Booker and Buttigueg have been pretty consistently strong. I would prefer either as our Democratic nominee over anyone else. But nothing changed. Biden is still the frontrunner after what was his best debate. Cherry pick his gaffes (record player) if you want, but anyone pointing to those as the reason he loses to Trump in a general election... well....

Week Two: Bills at Giants

It does. But as Bills fans, how comfortable are we at the start of the 4th quarter with... say... a 21 point lead? I've seen this team fall apart too much. It's a mistake when teams change their gameplans when they're ahead. Just ask the Falcons. -
Henry Anderson cheap shot. UNREAL

Only if you have a conservative Head Coach. Patriots don't ever take their foot off the throats of their opponents. The Ravens didn't to Miami last week. I think the Chiefs and Rams are teams that wouldn't, either. Hope we don't when we get big leads against any team, whether it's this weekendor another weekend. -
Pats can keep their rings; I'll take the Bills
transplantbillsfan replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Great post, Shaw. I honestly can't believe all the dark clouds that have hovered over that organization since Spygate. They've won 6 Super Bowls and they're pretty much media darlings now, but I really do wonder how history will view them 20-30 years from now. It's crazy though because I think without a lot of their cheating and scumbaggery they still win at least 4 Super Bowls with Brady and Bellicheck... or do they??? -
Zay Jones blocking ability - I’m impressed

Oy... Well, there's a good indicator of why Foster's playing time has been drastically reduced. -
This is from Joe B's All-22 review on The Athletic, which requires a subscription. Not posting the whole review, just the bit on Murphy: Following a frustrating, injury-filled 2018, Trent Murphy returned in the spring without any lingering issues. He was healthy, and the Bills hoped he would become the player they envisioned when they signed him to a sizable free-agent contract in the 2018 offseason. Without Murphy on the field, the Bills wouldn’t have been able to bottle up Sam Darnold and Le’Veon Bell nearly as well as they did. Murphy registered an assisted tackle, a pass defense and a fumble recovery at the end of the game, which seemed measly by box score standards. Murphy’s performance is the precise reason why going back to review the film is so essential. Beyond the numbers, he was outstanding. The left defensive end led the way in snaps for all defensive linemen and consistently provided pressure off the edge to set off Darnold’s internal alarm clock. The play that most will remember is when Darnold eluded Murphy’s tackle to throw a touchdown pass the referees later disallowed. Regardless, if Murphy hadn’t read his keys and hold his spot on the read-option play near the goal line, Darnold would have been able to dive into the end zone for a touchdown. Murphy forced Darnold to throw while his team was blocking down the field and forced a penalty. The Jets scored on the next play, but that wasn’t on Murphy’s watch. His pass-rushing was good against the Jets, but it was his run defense that really stood out. Murphy’s ability to lock Bell between the tackles was one of the biggest reasons the defense had such success on Sunday. Edge contain is often a lost art with sack-obsessed defensive ends, but it is a critical component both to Murphy’s skill-set and the team-based defensive scheme Sean McDermott runs. Murphy used his long frame to keep the right tackle away from his pads on rushing plays. He combined his length with enough to power to shift the right tackle where he wanted him, essentially building a wall that prevented the ever-patient Bell from kicking it outside for bigger yardage. Murphy routinely set the table for his teammates to make plays at or near the line of scrimmage — and is likely receiving plenty of internal praise from his coaching staff and teammates. He didn’t register a sack on Sunday, but the way he played — and how it showed up on film — was more than worth the weight of his substantial contract.

My biggest issue was how long and how loud it was. Loved the cast though. Especially Hader. Started watching Barry on HBO the day before we went to see IT.

Josh Allen's Adjusted stats for week 1
transplantbillsfan replied to wiley16350's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think he holds primary responsiblity for any of the turnovers. Purty sure I stressed all offseason that Allen was just as accurate as any good rookie in the last few years and wouldn't have a problem getting over 60% if he wasn't throwing the ball consistently farther down the field than any other QB in the NFL the way he was last year. His adjusted stats? Hell, everything that went wrong in that game won't go wrong most weeks. At that point, we see those numbers pop that I was predicting he'd put up all offseason. -

I wanted Hockenson and really thought we would have drafted him if he were there for us. Looked pretty damn good. -

Head's not stuck in the sand because I didn't say and don't believe it was an outlier for just the US. It was an outlier year globally in a lot of ways. A lot of places in the world are trying to self-correct right now or basically ride out the storms of the terms of guys who got into office due to what happened in that year or 2 span right around 2015-2016. Do you think if Britian revoted on Brexit, it would still pass today? Again, outlier Yeah, keep telling yourself that. Do you even listen to either of those? I'm sorry, that's a rhetorical question because it's extremely clear you don't. Neither outlet is a pundit talking the way Hannity or Rachel Maddow is. Each had segments over the years that have been pro and anti Russia collusion. Get your head out of the sand and stop just believing what your underground media is telling you. Yeah, keep telling yourself that. Sounds like our cheeto in chief Amen brotha. Amen. -
Democratic 2020 Presidential Primary Thread
transplantbillsfan replied to snafu's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Outlier Polls along with projected delegate counts along with believing strongly that the Democratic primary voters' #1 priority is beating Trump, not putting a particular candidate in office. Sorry. Not diving into your shadow world. I like NPR and PBS newshour because they're pretty fair and balanced, unlike the station that actually touts that as their slogan. Why? Are the Bills going to lose the Super Bowl in heartbreaking fashion?
