I am not sure he is actually walking away. He seems more like a Trump supporter:

If the President is commander in chief and responsible for the US to be safe from foreign invaders, how in the world could a border wall be "illegal?" Supreme Court denies request to halt construction of the border wall A number of groups, including the ACLU and Sierra Club, had asked the high court to get involved The Supreme Court by a 5-4 vote has denied a request to halt construction of President Trump’s border wall over environmental concerns. </snip> A federal appeals court had ruled against the administration last month, but the justices, for now, have given another temporary victory to the administration. "The fight continues,” said Dror Ladin, a staff attorney with the ACLU’s National Security Project. “Every lower court to consider the question has ruled President Trump's border wall illegal, and the Supreme Court’s temporary order does not decide the case. We’ll be back before the Supreme Court soon to put a stop to Trump’s xenophobic border wall once and for all.” The four liberal justices dissented from Friday’s order. </snip>

If you do not work in an office in Manhattan (or anywhere in the city of New York), do you have to pay NYC city income tax? For example if my house is in NJ and I am working from home instead of my office in Midtown, does the NYC city tax now go away? If that is how it works, that is gonna leave an even bigger hole in the NYC budget.

The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19

It amazes me how much COVID-19 has "cured." Now, that may be a bit flip but the misreporting will not help future modelers. If we do not know correct numbers, better forecasting cannot happen. -

I asked eons ago in this thread (and of course no one knew or knows even now, so it was basically rhetorical) if the malaria vaccine would have helped with this. If Africa is not hit (well, the parts of Africa that get HCQ or some other malaria drugs and/or a malaria vaccine) with deaths the way the rest of the world is, that has to be something to be looked into further. -

The article lists his specific charges: Tampa teen charged in Twitter hacking case Hillsborough State Attorney Andrew Warren announced 30 felony charges against a Tampa teen accused of scamming people and perpetrating the “Bit-Con” hack of prominent Twitter accounts including Bill Gates, Barack Obama, and Elon Musk on July 15, 2020. Investigators say Graham Ivan Clark, 17, was the mastermind of the recent hack of Twitter. Clark was arrested in Tampa early on July 31. According to court documents, Clark stole the identities of prominent people, posted messages in their names directing victims to send Bitcoin to accounts associated with Clark, and reaped more than $100,000 in Bitcoin in just one day. As a cryptocurrency, Bitcoin is difficult to track and recover if stolen in a scam. </snip> -

James Murdoch resigns from News Corp board over 'certain editorial content' in news outlets Rupert Murdoch's son James has resigned from News Corp's board of directors, saying he disagreed with some of the editorial and strategic decisions made by the company. News Corp is Rupert Murdoch's media giant that owns a number of companies around the world, including Australian outlets like The Australian, News.com.au and Foxtel. </snip> "My resignation is due to disagreements over certain editorial content published by the company's news outlets and certain other strategic decisions," he wrote. </snip> James had recently taken issue with News Corp's coverage of the summer of bushfires in Australia and climate change more generally. In January, a spokesperson for James and his wife, Kathryn, told The Daily Beast that the pair's "frustration with some of News Corp and Fox's coverage of the topic is … well known". "They are particularly disappointed with the ongoing denial of the role of climate change among the news outlets in Australia, given obvious evidence to the contrary," the spokesperson said. </snip> -
Why are they lying about the 32% drop? That would be a yearly rate (assuming Q2 numbers for 4 quarters which cannot happen in 2020 since Q1 was not a drop). It is not a Q2 number.

For goodness sake, you cannot argue with someone who is unwilling to learn. I was looking through the Maxwell releases last night and wellllll.... lots of people on the left have to be mighty disappointed today. -
I finally answered a pollster. Normally, I hang up, but this time she hooked me in but good and then I stuck around. Here’s hoping no one arrives at my doorstep after I gave my honest answers. ?

My father's nursing home finally opened for visits last week. 30 minute sessions per resident, once per week, limit of 2 people a visit. If it rains, no visit (it is outside, and even though we offered to purchase tents or awnings for the facility, we were turned down). There is no touching. Social distancing needs to be maintained (although with masks). I go in next week with my mother. His nursing home has had several positive cases, brought in by the staff over the last 4.5 months. If any of the residents go out for a doctor's appointment, they must self-quarantine for two weeks. The deaths that will come later will be exponential the virus. People have delayed specialist care (for months it was not allowed in his nursing home). The stories of the cognitive decline of residents who have had no outside contact the last 4.5 months are heart breaking. This has been horrible, with no good solution. China has much to answer for.
