I finally got to see my father yesterday. First time in five months. As my mother and I are walking out, one of the staff started chatting us up (my mother is familiar with nearly all the staff in the facility). The caregiver said to me that it was terrible what is happening to the people in the nursing homes. I responded that Cuomo made a mistake and everyone has to pay for it. She vehemently agreed. I do not think anyone who has a relative in a NYS nursing home, has someone who died “with” or “from” COVID-19 in a nursing home, someone who works in a nursing home, or has one or two degrees of separation from any of those, thinks Cuomo did/is doing a “good job.”
