Democratic 2020 Presidential Primary Thread
Buffalo_Gal replied to snafu's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I don't know, there was a pretty good lock-down on Hillary's health once she started running. She was sobered up and spackled as need be, and because people liked her less the more they saw of her, her outings were curtailed greatly. The MSM not only played along, they aided and abetted it. His campaign is curtailing Uncle Joe's outings too, mainly because he's creepy as ***** and has not learned how to keep his hands to himself. And that does not fly in the age of #metoo. The history on his handsy-ness, flip-flops, voting record, plagiarisms, etc. has not been scrubbed (yet). I'm not certain it can be contained at this point simply because the right has learned hard lessons on this the last 10+ years, and now have vaults of everything. The internet is forever. Then too, being white + male is not something the MSM can get behind currently. They want a minority candidate (preferably female) so they can bash the crud out of President Trump for being white and male. And while I still say Joey-B is running to keep his shady dealings in China and the Ukraine as a political persecution!!! if anything should come of it, there isn't (yet) a complete clampdown on his (and his son's) China and the Ukraine dealings while he was VP. The MSM in general seems to be uninterested in reporting on it, but not all outlets are playing along. Depending on the OIG Clinton Uranium One report, the press may not be able to smother it with a pillow (h/t David Burge) I wouldn't be shocked if Uncle Joe ends up the D nominee for a number of reasons (sacrificial lamb being first and foremost among those reasons). But, I would be surprised. -

Are Tariffs The Right Way To Force Mexico To Help?
Buffalo_Gal replied to 3rdnlng's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
President Trump has sanctions and tariff cards to play. Until our do-nothing Congress (for the last 50 years) gets their act together and starts legislating for things that help US citizens (hahahahahhahahahaha), Trump will play the hand he has. -
You don't have to change anything around for me. I think @CowgirlsFan and I are the only women currently actively posting here (please correct me if I am wrong). While I cannot speak for her, I prefer to tease you all when things are posted that are very male-centric. Makes me laugh (apparently, I am easily amused). I would never expect someone to change their manner of posting for me in any way - well, except for @DC Tom , but I do not think that will happen. ? IOW, no apologies are necessary, but thank you for the thought!!

A ) Retired B ) Every answer I posted here was dirty. I'll pass and say I like men. ? C ) I am not a sportsman. I played league softball when younger, and that was it. Games? Now there I can be cutthroat, especially pinochle (because I count cards).

They really did leave no stone unturned, and they found nothing. 'Scorched Earth': Mueller's Targets Speak Out </snip> “They were clearly on a fishing expedition,” Moore said, recounting the incident to RealClearInvestigations publicly for the first time. “They seemed desperate to find something to hang onto the narrative” of Russian collusion, he said. </snip>

The British press, which is usually very harsh, was pretty decent about the visit. I am sure it helped that they fell totally in love with Melania and her style. Our press? ppffffttttt It was like two different events were happening. -

I laugh every time I read about the Obama's head of state gifts. The ones to England were just about the "best", and Michelle topped that off by hugging the Queen. Good times. But Trump is the philistine that is rude and crude with no manners who doesn't know how to act in formal situations. ? -

Refugee Crisis in the U. S. (?)
Buffalo_Gal replied to B-Man's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
He's only got a few cards to play (sanctions and tariffs), and with our do-nothing Congress (for the last ummm 50 years) not taking the illegal situation seriously, I am not sure how much more he can do. And now the House voted last night to make a bazillion people who broke the law citizens, and not to be one-upped, the Senate has their own version. I "think" both are vetoed without wall funding, and a serious plan to stop the illegals from entering the US. It's almost as if Congress wants people to break our laws. Hmmm -

Unless the revisions are "unexpectedly" stupendous, this should make those cheering for a crashing economy happy. Private sector adds just 27,000 jobs in May, missing Wall Street’s expectations U.S. private sector hiring grew by just 27,000 jobs Opens a New Window. in May, according to the ADP National Employment report, fueling renewed concerns that the U.S. economy is slowing as investors worry about the impact of a lengthy U.S.-China trade war and new Mexico tariffs on the markets. Analysts polled by Refinitiv had expected an increase of 180,000 jobs. </snip>

"Without Germany, we would not be here today", is kind of a ridiculous reason for the Chancellor to be invited to a D-Day commemoration. -
