  1. I'd never want to live in Washington DC or the surrounding areas. blech
  2. Oddly, searches for his name and his actual sentence (which may not have happened yet) have turned up almost nuthin' on the intertubes. Follow-up: • A former Democratic congressional aide who doxxed Republican senators during a confirmation hearing for Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh will be sentenced to prison Wednesday. • Former computer administrator Jackson Cosko carried out what prosecutors said was the largest known data theft in Senate history and used it to blackmail a witness, to plot to extort a senator and to threaten others. • He left operational spy devices on the Senate network that went undetected by police even after he was arrested and his plot was discovered, prosecutors said. • Prosecutors are seeking to make an example of Cosko for criminally attacking people who disagreed with him politically, citing a rise in such incidents. </snip> Prosecutors asked for nearly five years in prison for Cosko, a onetime congressional IT aide to Hassan. Cosko admitted he stole the New Hampshire Democrat’s data out of revenge for being fired, then used it to doxx Republicans during the Brett Kavanaugh hearings. “The government believes that a significant sentence would help to make clear that difference of political opinion do not entitle people to engage in politically motivated, criminal attacks threatening elected officials with whom he disagrees, and would thereby encourage respect for the law, and deter future criminal conduct,” prosecutors wrote. New details emerged in their sentencing memo that made the case of Cosko — the Bernie Sanders-supporting son of a millionaire San Francisco developer with ties to California Sen. Dianne Feinstein and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi — even more shocking. A second Hassan staffer who was friends with Cosko served as his accomplice in exchange for rent money helped him physically break into the office at night and pilfer internal emails even after he was fired, prosecutors’ sentencing memo shows. </snip>
  3. I am very ashamed to admit I laughed. <--- appropriate

  5. Erie County clerk says nut uh. He's not wrong, so we shall see where this goes. Bonus: other clerks are saying they will inform ICE when an illegal applies for a NYS driver's license.
  6. Fox, CNN, C-SPAN barred from live coverage of South Carolina 2020 convention In a first, only one TV outlet — MSNBC — will be allowed to deliver live coverage of Saturday’s South Carolina Democratic Convention where 21 presidential candidates are expected to speak, drawing heated complaints from other networks. C-SPAN, which has never been denied live coverage of a state convention in the network’s 40 years, has reluctantly pulled out of the convention and other weekend events sponsored by the party. CNN has filed a complaint. Fox will also be barred from providing live coverage to its viewers. The decision by the South Carolina Democratic Party was a surprise to the outlets and came just yesterday, long after all three had begun to ready for live coverage of the nine-hour event, one of the biggest on the Democratic presidential calendar so far. </snip>
  7. Ok we need to get to the next page because that thing is creepy and it is gonna give me nightmares. ?
  8. It is, nevertheless, a crazy story.
  9. That's a lotta blow... (They've been inspecting the ship for over 24 hours) 16.5 tons of cocaine worth $1 billion seized at Philadelphia port PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Federal authorities have seized approximately 16.5 tons of cocaine, with a street value of over $1 billion, at the Packer Marine Terminal in Philadelphia. An official said the ship was headed from Chile to Europe when the drugs were found in Philadelphia after authorities received a tip Monday night. The cocaine was discovered inside eight containers from a cargo ship, sources tell Action News. The ship's course started in Chile then stopped in Peru and the Bahamas before making its way to Philadelphia. The US Attorney's Office Eastern District of Pennsylvania says the ship was then headed to Europe with a stop in Rotterdam. </snip>
  10. They are going with dehydration as the reason.
  11. Attendance? Under 20 people. But, he's out-polling President Trump.
  12. This should be interesting... forces the Democrats on record and against ICE, and maybe flushes out some RINOs? They are "marking up" the bill on Thursday, so who knows what it will look like in final form. McConnell to force vote next week on Trump border funding request Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) is pledging to force a vote on President Trump's $4.5 billion request for emergency border money, regardless of whether or not the GOP can reach a deal with Democrats. McConnell told Fox News's "Fox & Friends" during an interview on Monday that he was planning to bring up a "freestanding" deal in an effort to force Democrats to go on the record either supporting or blocking the request for humanitarian aid legislation. </snip> The White House’s request includes $3.3 billion for humanitarian aid, which the administration says would be used to increase shelters and care for unaccompanied minors, in addition to processing arrivals. They’ve also asked for roughly $1.1 billion for other border operations like expanding the number of detention beds and providing more investigation resources. </snip> Democrats say they support providing additional humanitarian aid for the U.S.-Mexico border, including shoring up a Health and Human Services (HHS) office that is responsible for unaccompanied minors detained along the border and on the verge of running out of funding. But trying to get funding for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) or expanding the number of detention beds is a non-starter for Democrats. </snip>
  13. State Department identifies 23 violations, 'multiple security incidents' concerning Clinton emails The State Department revealed Monday that it has identified "multiple security incidents" involving current or former employees' handling of Hillary Clinton's emails, and that 23 "violations" and seven "infractions" have been issued as part of the department's ongoing investigation. The information came in a letter to Iowa Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley, who is responsible for overseeing the security review. "To this point, the Department has assessed culpability to 15 individuals, some of whom were culpable in multiple security incidents," Mary Elizabeth Taylor, the State Department's Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of Legislative Affairs, wrote to Grassley. "DS has issued 23 violations and 7 infractions incidents. ... This number will likely change as the review progresses." The State Department, calling the matter "serious," said it expected to conclude the investigation by Sept. 1. The department acknowledged that the probe was unusually time-consuming. </snip>
  14. LOL (not photoshopped, just a great angle)
  15. Well as they say, his first mistake was applying to Harvard. I get why he wanted to go there, the alumni club runs a lot of the world's business through it (the Harvard education is incidental). A lot of people have said he should sue, others say he cannot win, yada, yada. I think he should sue. He has immediate provable monetary damages in that he gave up scholarships to other institutions on acceptance to Harvard. Long term, the monetary damages from not having that piece of paper are incalculable (although I am certain a good attorney could calculate them ?) Others have said there was no contract, but wasn't there? If accepted, isn't that a contract? And if past, legal behavior is a reason to rescind the acceptance, shouldn't Harvard have done their due diligence before accepting him? What next? Eating paste in kindergarten ruins your life? (If so, someone should tell Biden he will never be President.) Let's face it, this comes down to this kid is the "wrong" political persuasion. It looks HORRIBLE for Harvard to pull his acceptance, not only for that reason, but because of what he went through, and that he earned the acceptance. I am sure Harvard doesn't care as they will always have boatloads of people applying, and couldn't give two-***** about how they look to those of the "wrong" political affiliation. Anyhoooo I hope he lawyers-up ... with either a staff of past Harvard grads, or a staff of Yale grads. ?
