  1. Ummm yeah. Wayfair has a cult following among the 20 and 30 something crowds. Should be interesting if those people walking out tomorrow have jobs the next day. The works are protesting that Wayfair sold beds to the facilities. Are they gonna screech if the kids have to sleep on the floor because they protested these kids having beds? Here's the hashtag: https://twitter.com/hashtag/WayfairWalkout
  2. Can't wait to see the poison in this bill...
  3. I know @B-Man mentioned this in another thread, but here is the announcement:
  4. From the comments: (that old The Atlantic article is some spin)
  5. Slapping this in here too (this thread is lonely)
  6. I'll slap this here instead of the border thread... Mexico has deployed nearly 15,000 soldiers and National Guardsmen to its border with the United States, the army chief said Monday -- admitting they are detaining migrants who try to cross, after the policy triggered backlash. Under pressure from US President Donald Trump to slow the surge of Central Americans crossing the border, Mexico promised earlier this month to reinforce its southern border with 6,000 National Guardsmen, but had not previously disclosed the extent of the crackdown on its northern border. "We have a total deployment, between the National Guard and army units, of 14,000, almost 15,000 men in the north of the country," Defense Minister Luis Cresencio Sandoval said at a press conference alongside President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador. Asked whether those forces were detaining migrants to prevent them from crossing, Sandoval replied: "Yes." </snip>
  7. I'd listen to her team for Twitter and IG engagement. Even if they bought the initial followers, since then the accounts have grown (and for good or for ill), her brand has become readily identifiable. Great from a marketing standpoint.
  8. And the democrats will continue to scream conditions are inhumane because "Trump", and their lackeys in the MSM will go repeat that as gospel..
  9. He didn't make a thread: https://twitter.com/ChadPergram/status/1143205957800996864 1) The House and Senate this week plan to consider similar but different supplemental spending bills this week to address the crisis at the border. Fox is told that these plans lie outside the lines of fixing immigration and asylum claims. 2) President Trump this weekend called off ICE raids at the behest of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA). While these spending packages may help address the humanitarian concerns at the border, the legislation from both bodies does not touch actual immigration policy. 3) Multiple sources tell Fox they aren’t sure how or if Congress could address the President’s requests over the next two weeks. Congress is supposed to be away for the July 4th recess. Fox is told nothing will be built into these spending bills to address the asylum issues. He forgot 4 5) These are “supplemental” spending bills. They are additional measures compared to the 12 annual appropriations bills Congress moves each year to fund gov't This supplemental for the border would be the “14th” bill of this spending cycle. The disaster pkg was the "13th" 6) The Senate package is bipartisan. The House bill is penned by Democrats and so far has little bipartisan support. In fact liberal House Democrats oppose the package. Both plans cost $4.5 billion. The Hse bill does not include some “defense” funding. The Senate measure does. 7) The House plans to go to the Rules Committee tonight to prep its measure for the floor midweek. The Senate has not yet figured out a time agreement to consider the measure. 8 ) A senior source told Fox that “agencies run out of money by the end of the month.” Even if the House and Senate approve these bills this week, no one is clear how lawmakers blend the varying bills into one measure. “This is a very good question,” said one source. 9) Expect some Dem defections from the House bill. The President’s threat to conduct ICE raids over the weekend inflames liberal and progressive Democrats. “There is a high-level of distrust in the administration,” said one source. Some Dems don't want to give any $ to ICE/CBP
  10. The creepiest thing google does is their ad tracking (it is quite sophisticated). I just finished a search for Bills tickets, and what do I see on the political blog I was reading when I refreshed? Nothing is secret on the internet.
  11. "Let's bankrupt the United States because you thought a 'gender studies' degree was a good way to spend $250,000." Seems smart. Glad you were let into a college with that type of critical thinking. The entire Democratic Clown Car Committee is out trying to buy votes right now. Most of it is outright dumb ideas, pandering to stupid people who do not realize these "reparations" will never (could never) happen. But this Bernie-Buy with "other people's money" (what else is new?) is so egregious, I'd think even his cultists should know it ain't gonna happen.
  12. LOL They put the videos up on youtube.... Google is in a bind with that - they'd desperately like it down I am sure, but if they pull it down, that just reinforced "censorship".
  13. Or perhaps he'd like to point out the Japanese should pay for protection? (Pay more? I'm not sure how the US is compensated as Japan has a brown water navy and the US (as a blue water navy) escorts or intervenes for them.) And whatever other country(ies) we are protecting should pay more? Maybe one of the navy guys here could explain this (compensation, escort, US responsibilities, etc)? Or possibly it his way of highlighting that it isn't the US that directly is impacted? The US is definitely indirectly impacted as something like 25% of the world's energy flows (heh) through there, and if that supply is negatively impacted long term, it could bring on a worldwide depression. I have no specific idea what the purpose of President Trump's tweets were. The one thing I've learned over the last few years is people vastly underestimate Trump, and his tweets usually (not always) are serving a purpose.
  14. The document dump is interesting.
  15. 1) Frequent fliers refer to coach seating as "the back of the bus". 2) Cam Newton has an assistant who does the mundane for him, including booking trip tickets. 3) If that makes me pretentious because you do not know about 1 and 2, so be it.
  16. I still wouldn't have done it. My charming son is about the same size as Cam (my son is about 10# lighter), and doesn't have anything like Cam's money. My son flies to Europe a lot, and figures out how to book a seat that fits his frame . Cam can get better help (a better assistant) to get him a first class ticket or book a plane-share (you know, the ones that were advertised every 10 minutes during the AAF games).
  17. I always call Toronto a cleaner NYC. ?‍♀️
  18. I'd have turned him down too. I book first class for a reason, Cam needs a better assistant to get him out of the back of the bus (and $1500 is unlikely to have covered that first class seat).
