A quick internet search shows Spectrum and AT&T fiber (so I am assuming like FIOS). There is Dish, too. That is quite some move Clarence to OC. Best wishes. -

Trump nominates John Ratcliffe, deep state goes bonkers, Ratcliffe withdraws. Deep state floats Sue Gordon as as the new head of DNI. Trump says, 'you wouldn't give me my guy, now your guy is gone too. Bub-bye Gordon.' If they hadn't sunk the Ratcliffe nomination, Gordon would still be around for deep state. Now, she's gone for good. BTW, if Schiffy liked her, makes me wonder if she was leaking to him? -

There is enough gloom and doom being forecast in this article to make those on the left "happy": The number of Americans filing applications for unemployment benefits unexpectedly fell last week, suggesting the labor market remains strong even as the economy is slowing. </snip> Initial claims for state unemployment benefits fell 8,000 to a seasonally adjusted 209,000 for the week ended Aug. 3, the government said. Economists polled by Reuters had forecast claims would be unchanged at 215,000 in the latest week. </snip> Though hiring has slowed, the pace of job gains remains well above the roughly 100,000 needed per month to keep up with growth in the working-age population. Nonfarm payrolls increased by 164,000 jobs in July, down from 193,000 in June. Job growth over the last three months averaged 140,000 per month, the lowest in nearly two years, compared to 223,000 in 2018. The moderation in employment growth partly reflects a shortage of workers. </snip>

Danske's Bid to Block U.S. Class Action Lawsuit Hits Obstacle New York judge denies Danske’s motion to dismiss as moot Money laundering scandal has sent Danske securities plunging </snip> Investors in American depositary receipts of Danske, which is the target of criminal investigations in the U.S. and across Europe, want compensation for a share-price slump that was precipitated by the laundering scandal. They allege that Danske repeatedly failed to respond to signs that criminals from Russia and other former Soviet states were using the bank to funnel money into the West. </snip> -

For which we would all be in her debt. I still think Harris is the chosen one, or Biden/Harris with an eye toward Kamala running at the top of the ticket in 2024. Maybe she'll go to charm school between now and then? -

White House drafting executive order to tackle Silicon Valley’s alleged anti-conservative bias The White House is circulating drafts of a proposed executive order that would address allegations of anti-conservative bias by social media companies, according to a White House official and two other people familiar with the matter — a month after President Donald Trump pledged to explore "all regulatory and legislative solutions" on the issue. None of the three would describe the contents of the order, which one person cautioned has already taken many different forms and remains in flux. But its existence, and the deliberations surrounding it, are evidence that the administration is taking a serious look at wielding the federal government’s power against Silicon Valley. </snip> -

The Media's Portrayal of Trump and His Presidency

The Trump administration stepped in and helped this man. Buzzfeed seems to be the only "news" site to report on the aftermath (to their credit), and yet I didn't see the words "Trump Administration" anywhere in the post. A Muslim Man Who Had Faced Deportation To China From Qatar Is Now Headed To The US </snip> A Muslim man who had been stuck at an airport in Qatar awaiting deportation to China is now en route to the United States, a spokesperson for the State Department told BuzzFeed News. Activists scrambled to prevent Ablikim Yusuf's deportation after he posted a viral cellphone video online last week. </snip> Yusuf, 53, was originally set to be put on a Qatar Airways flight to Beijing — an outcome that would have put him at risk of detention or internment in China, where upward of a million Muslim minorities have been sent to internment camps in the far west region of Xinjiang, according to estimates. By Tuesday, news came that he had left Doha's Hamad International Airport and was "on his way to freedom." Yusuf is set to arrive at Washington Dulles International Airport on Tuesday at about 3 p.m local time. </snip> A State Department spokesperson told BuzzFeed News, "The United States is alarmed by China’s highly repressive campaign against Uighurs, ethnic Kazakhs, Kyrgyz, and other Muslims in Xinjiang." </snip> Yusuf was traveling not on a passport, but a travel document that would have only allowed him to return to China. China frequently issues these kinds of documents in lieu of a passport to its Uighur citizens living overseas in an effort to force them to return home, where they may face detention. </snip> -

My training camp observations from today: 1) It was hot as out there. 2) There was 2826875752 kids in attendance, and it wasn't kids day. 3) There are too many VIP sections. Everyone is crammed into one half of the big stands, and then the small stands across from the large stand. 4) There were some drills or something going on on the field. ? (Actually watching the running backs drill was interesting. Hubby noted that they went in possible starting order, Shady first, then Gore, etc) 5) I should have brought my camera, my cell phone takes lousy long-range photos.

What do you expect to happen? Evil doesn't obey laws. More laws only serve to chip away at the rights of law abiding citizens.
